The pyramid at Luxor Resort in Las Vegas, with its beam of light, provides a striking visual even on the overtly glamorous Las Vegas Strip. One of the most recognizable structures in Las Vegas, the 30-story pyramid – an architectural wonder – invites curiosity, while the inside rewards visitors with equal parts excitement, mystery and intrigue.

Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, was relatively quiet and easy to get some sleep. Bathroom was ok, hot water in the shower was somewhat iffy (sometimes it got hot, sometimes it just got warm). Shower pressure seemed rather low as well. Sink took forever to drain. As for amenities within the room? A tv with very limited channels was there, no fridge, microwave or coffee maker. There was a hair dryer, iron & ironing board. NO ROOM SERVICE at this hotel at all. Had to get any food from either the limited in house restaurants/food court or order thru a delivery service & meet delivery driver in lobby or out in front of the hotel. The elevators are horrible! They shake/vibrate something awful! Have loose panels inside next to the door! Paint/coating peeled off the doors and seem to be very poorly maintained.
Casino was not very active during our stay (23rd-27th Dec). Open gaming tables were very limited, they preferred having higher stakes tables open over the lower stakes ones.
Restaurants were limited. We only visited two of the restaurants which had table service. The Pyramid Cafe and the Public House, the others were either closed during our stay or only open very limited hours. Pyramid Cafe was ok. They had great chicken wings and a decent breakfast omelet but have no idea how real biscuits & sausage gravy or grits actually should taste (don’t put southern dishes on your menu unless you know how to make southern dishes). Public House was ok, but just barely. Ordered a steak medium rare, it would up half medium rare half rare (must have had it laid between the cold & hot sides of the grill). Was tasty but kinda disappointing at the same time. Only other food venues visited was for grab & go stuff. Got tots from one place, shakes from the yogurt place (way too sweet), chili from the Bistro (tasted like Taco Bell taco meat in a cup) & coffee from Starbucks. Any bottled water, sodas, snacks or candy from the store in the lobby were terribly expensive. Better to get water or sodas from the vending machines, bring them with you or walk to a store across the street.
Even though we did not have a horrible experience here, we would not stay at this hotel again not will we recommend for anyone.

The Luxor is a very basic hotel. My wife and I had recieved "free" comp rooms from an MGM promotion, although use the word "free" lightly after luxury and property taxes. We upgraded to the Tower King Room (recommended) with a fridge and wet bar. This comes in handy for any food items that you may wish to bring and or purchase cheaper somewhere off the strip. The room was big enough, items were worn out, bathroom door stuck, shower still had hair in it when we first arrived and toilet kept clogging. I will say complaints were handled in a timely manner.
The casino area is big enough with plenty of your favorite slots and gaming tables.
Because the Luxor is interconnected to other MGM properties on the south strip we only ate at the Pyramid Cafe once (food is good, large portions, more pricey than other hotels further north, service was SLOW - 2 hours start to finish for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. (The Buffet is closed Mon - Wed and caused a backlog) - The Deli in the casino has top notch sandwiches for a quick bite late. We ate at other MGM properties that were more effecient in service afterwards. (Try Citizens in Mandalay Bay and America at New York New York).
Location is a bit out of the way from the North Strip attractions, but we like to walk so really not an issue. Some of the escalotors on the Strip are out of order so be prepared to climb up and down steps. The North Towers has a Lyft/Uber pickup in front downstairs that was really convienant.
For us the Luxor needs some upgrades before trying again, but looking forward to going back to Vegas soon and trying other MGM properties.

The Luxor is located close to the airport, but further south of the Strip than you probably want to be. It's relatively affordable, but you do get what you pay for. I did some research and discovered that the tower rooms are better than the pyramid rooms and while we were there we got a glance inside the pyramid rooms and I can see why: your window slopes towards you and creates a real sence of claustrophobia.

Check in was impressively seamless: download the app, look up your reservation, take a picture of your ID, and viola! here's your digital room key—go straight to your room, don't wait in the hour long line at the front desk to check in.

That's about where the impressiveness ended, though. Navigating the hotel is tough, and this is coming from someone who has stayed in multiple different Vegas properties. I know they're trying to flow you through the casino no matter what, but at what cost? I got lost twice on my way to my room the first time. Virtually impossible to figure out which way to go to connect to Mandalay Bay or the Excalibur. Where's the restaurant I'm looking for? Good luck.

Quality food options are limited. Nearly everything inside the hotel is below 4 stars on Google. You're going to have to leave if you want a good-to-great meal.

The Tower room was clean and relatively upgraded compared to other hotels of a similar age. The shower/tub in the bathroom need help though. No fridge and the world's smallest ice bucket made keeping anything cold a challenge. And God be with you if you need some water and you don't want to by 20 oz bottles for $7 a pop each time.

The room also lacks a way to connect your technology to your TV, like a Chromecast. My 14 year old son couldn't have been less interested in what was on TV, he was on YouTube on his iPhone. This is the kind of thing that actually might change a future buying decision.

Overall, I think I'd stay at the Luxor again if the rate was right and I was at peace with having to travel up the Strip for just about anything and everything I want to do while in Vegas.

This is my second time in Las Vegas , I chosen the Luxor , the casino was amazing , luck came on and ran out on my last day ,food was delicious , pyramid Cafe in the morning was outstanding , rooms are very clean and nice , the only issue is they need to fix the shower door as it was stuck , my mother cut her thumb while trying to move the sliding door to get into the shower , I had a problem with it also. Will be back in the near future , Overall I would recommend luxor to anybody I know. This place really makes you want to walk like an Egyptian, lol

So since they're pushing for the review, why not I arrive Thursday? January 29th. upon arrival to my room, there were no bath towels, so we werent able to shower after 2 telephone calls someone finally showed up at the room who didn't have towels and barely spoke english, though I really care less about the english part. After roughly about three additional hours, towels were finally delivered, we waited over five hours for bath towels. Next on my issue list, it was parking. At $20 a day at luxor I guess that's about average, but the fact that I had to park in Mandalay Bay and then take the long walk over to me just does not seem acceptable. I don't think any of this is taken into consideration based on a person's age or physical abilities. One of the nights I ate at public house since they wouldn't deliver to the room, I just went and got it. The steak was amazing. Unfortunately, the seasonal vegetables. I do not eat due to a food allergy. Just for them to remove it off. The plate was an additional $6 charge, so they're charging me $6. To not eat something because I'm allergic to it and for them to remove it. I thought that was pretty amazing. On Friday, the 31st I wake up to someone staring us me while they're cleaning the windows outside. I'm glad I sleep with clothes on. But more importantly, since I was sharing a room with my daughter, I'm glad she had clothes on. Now I don't take it. Personally, I don't believe he was purposely gays again on us. Since he really didn't have many other directions to look in But It would have been nice If the hotel told us at check-in, our side of the buildings windows would be be cleaned. The hotel is also sowing sign of age, as our bathroom had broken tile that needed to be repaired, old, dirty and cracking caulk lines that should be removed and replaced. Other than that, the beds were comfortable. The staff was okay, nothing to write home about.

NO coffee pot! NO mini fridge so u can't bring home left overs. No free channels for those nights u are just tired and wanting to watch something in the room. Housekeeping came into our room when we put the do not disturb sign out and took our towels and bath mat without replacing them! The toilet leaks water on the floor. They had the restrooms closed during breakfast buffet for more than an HOUR! There was a roach in the buffet bathroom and the buffet cost $130 for 3 people - the food was cold and generic! Food everywhere else is AT LEAST $25 a person per meal. Bars and drinks are everywhere but expensive and weak. The table games change the min bet for the evenings so bring thousands if u want to gamble but even if u don't gamble, like us, you'll still go broke trying to feed yourself here. The place is all about money. Even museums are of $40 a person! NEXT time ill save my money and find a holiday Inn with free breakfast. You gotta walk everywhere anyway.

Whilst this isn't going to be the most luxurious stay of your life, the Luxor hotel has everything you need for a great base to explore Las Vegas.
At check in we requested an upgrade from our Premier Pyramid room and were offered a room in the West Tower on the 4th Floor for $15 a night, which we accepted.
Our initial stay was fully complimentary through MGM Rewards so we were happy to pay $15 a night for an upgrade to the tower. We mainly did this based on the review of Elevators in the Pyramid.
Our room was extremely spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The shower had great pressure!
We only stayed for 3 nights so declined any housekeeping but when passing the team of housekeepers in the hallway they were always pleasant and polite.
There are areas of the hotel which are showing its age but there are also ongoing efforts from the Hotel to make improvements, modernisations and give the place a better look.
In the 3 days alone which we were there we saw carpets being replaced to lovely new ones and also we saw all the elevators in the West Tower being wrapped with a new gold film to cover up the older, visibly worn metal. This alone gave the place a much newer and cleaner feel.
All staff we encountered were polite and helpful.
The location does require a decent amount of walking to get to the centre of the strip however if you make use of both the free tram from Mandalay Bay - Luxor - Excalibur and the Monorail at the MGM grand you can easily get around.
If you are looking for somewhere with a relatively low price point and great value for money, this would be my recommendation.

1. Bathroom floor was dirty, shower drain was pulled out and dried up pieces from the (looked like) clogged drain scattered on shower floor, couldn’t get housekeeping to come quickly or give an eta on their arrival, guest services couldn’t help with housekeeping, just offered to move us but we had settled with our luggage and two dogs. We just wanted to shower and go to bed. They just reimbursed a $50 services fee as a reparation after I asked for one.
2. No option to prepay for valet, prepaid for self parking to be told that it’s not super safe by staff, switched to valet and had to be refunded self park, was told by valet that he could keep our car safe for a $20 gratuity, felt slimey and sketchy! We felt we didn’t have another option.
3. Elevator, hallways and room was dated and decrepit. Room was missing the basics (mini fridge, mini bar, coffee machine/kettle) which I expect when staying at a hotel, never been to one without them!
4. Unfriendly/cold luggage staff and phone staff (guest services + cleaning staff).
5. Without a kettle, we tried to get hot water from main floor and was charged just under $3 for hot water!!

We had such a bad hotel experience and for $300 + all of the tips we gave out, we are beyond disappointed

The Luxor is less expensive than the top-tier strip hotels, but the rooms are a much nicer than the budget hotels on the strip. Here are my recommendations to get the best experience at the Luxor: 1) I highly recommend the tower rooms instead of the pyramid rooms. The pyramid rooms are fun, but they are smaller than the Tower rooms and have small windows. Also, the pyramid elevators (The Inclinators) can be slow or broken making it difficult to quickly get to your room compared to the towers. 2) If you can get a good rate on an "Elite" room I would recommend it compared to the Standard room. Elite room is bigger and nicer. 3) if you like taking a bath, the soaking tubs in the Luxor are clean and comfortable to relax in after walking all over Vegas...HOWEVER, not all rooms in the Luxor do not have soaking tubs. Most of the rooms are walk-in shower only. If you want a separate tub make sure that you select a room that states a tub and shower are in the room, 3) you can use the MGM Resorts App to check in and check out of the hotel (do not wait in line). I recommend installing and logging into the MGM App on your phone before you get to the lobby. 4) there is a monorail train that runs between Excalibur, Luxor, and Mandalay Bay that is really convenient. The trains come every 4 minutes. Also, the Excalibur, Luxor, and Mandalay Bay are all connected so you can visit any of these casinos by walking without having to go outside (which is nice during the summer).

I recently stayed at Luxor , and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The room was not properly cleaned, and the overall condition was disappointing. Here are the key issues I encountered:

1. Dusty Furniture: The surfaces in the room were covered in dust, indicating a lack of attention to basic cleaning.
2. Trash Behind the TV Stand: I discovered trash behind the TV stand, which should have been cleaned before my arrival.
3. Mold on Fire Sprinklers: The fire sprinklers had visible mold on them, raising serious concerns about health and safety.
4. Dusty Air Vents: The air vents were caked with dust, affecting air quality in the room.
5. Stains and Dusty Curtains: The curtains were stained and had a layer of dust, which made the room feel unkempt.

This was not the standard of cleanliness I expected. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously and improves its housekeeping practices to provide guests with a more comfortable and hygienic stay

Is this on the strip in Vegas
Answer from kelcandg

It is but at the very beginning of the strip but there is a tram at the the luxor that will take you closer to the new York new York which is the main part of the strip. There are walk ways between the hotels and pedestrian bridges that all help. It is quite a walk down to ceasers Paris and bellagio but there's so much going on we didn't realise. Wear comfy shoes as you will walk a lot even just getting out of the hotel .
