I stayed in a "vintage" room at the El Cortez, which means it was last updated when Bugsy Seigel owned the place. It was an interesting lesson in how hotels have evolved over the last 60 years. It actually had a phone with a clanging metal bell. I like El Cortez because it's super accessible and close to Downtown. The...

The casino was clean and giving money if you are lucky in the Casino. The hotel has a cafe restaurant which is affordable amount. Waiter and waitresses are sweet and whatever order you will ask, immediately will be there for you. The rooms are always clean, new sheets, new towels and bath soaps nor shampoos are refilled and have an...

I checked in to the El Cortez at 2:00 pm and got a Vintage room. The room was huge but a bit dated with an old style TV. I can deal with that as the room was clean with a queen size bed. I left and went to check out the casino and downtown for a few hours. Upon coming...

The hotel is located very near the Fremont street experience. It is also only one block from the deuce bus stop. The staff are very friendly and they make one feel at home. There is a café which has daily specials and the food is good and portions are generous The shuttle to the airport is complimentary

The hotel itself isn't so bad. The cocktail bar is passable (except when they do God awful karaoke), the diner is good and the slots are loose. It isn't bad on the casino floor...BUT the rooms are weird and smell awful. First, i stayed in a tower room which was supposed to be renovated. I have NO belief that is...

Stayed at the El Cortez for three nights in mid-September. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My room was in the old part of the hotel; second floor off the casino. There is no elevator in the old part of the hotel. As I wear a pegleg, the staff immediately asked if I would prefer a room in the tower....
