This is an historic style hotel. We enjoyed an upper room with a nice view of the bay. The main hotel is older, which means you better like thing less modern. However, that said, the room was larger than most modern hotels and has a room design no longer found in today's hotels. It was a good experience.

When you first pull up to the hotel, the look has a cool retro look. The lobby has older chandeliers and decor hat really give you the feel of a charming hotel. But, once you get on the rickety elevator and walk down the hallway to your room, you will see the worn, spotted carpets and the charm is gone.... More

My girlfriend booked this room to participate in the Spartan World Championship Races held at the Squaw Valley Ski Resort. It was a 30 minute drive through beautiful scenery. The hotel is tired and dated. VERY tired and dated. It's a four story hotel with a casino. The hotel is smoke free, but the casino stinks of smoke. Due to... More

Stopped in as we drove the North shore. Played a fun lightening game. Would have stayed longer, but the gal next to me was so gross w/her cigarette. ..and kept talking to the machine. Other than that I love the variety of older and newer casino games. I always come here when I'm in Tahoe.

Definitely NOT anywhere close to deserving the $100 a night to stay here. We could have stayed in Reno for half the price at twice the accommodations. Obvious this dive has seen better days. Not worth more than about $29 a night. Horrible customer service...if any. You can tell the staff does not enjoy their job. Quite run down and... More

Ok, let me say this is not the norm for my wife and I. We are Marriot people......but it was next door to a restaurant my wife and friends wanted to eat at after a day of hiking. It took us a while but we warmed to the place! Built sometime in god knows when, the decor throughout the hotel... More

For the price, room was adequate. We had a birthday dinner at Soule Domain right next door...exquisite to say the least. And then several good beers at the Mellow Fellow right across the street (CA 28)..The Casino at the Tahoe Biltmore was very friendly and low key. We had ALOT of fun there, as well as the Crystal Bay Casino... More

I spent one night on the third floor of the hotel. Air conditioning does to get to the third floor so management put evaporative coolers ( swamp boxes) in each room. The one in our room had a broken pump and was no better than a fan. When I registered a complaint, a replacement was sent up. There were stains... More

So my wife got invited to the end of summer party here last weekend. I can't say it was overpriced because they comped us 3 nights and I appreciate that. It's old, does not have all the modern amenities especially in room but I think most of the people out there have just plain become spoiled brats about the hotel... More

My room was booked via Hotels.com months in advance of our trip. I prepaid for a cottage with 2 queen beds. When I arrived, they had no record of my booking. After 25-30 minutes, they discovered the staff member who entered my registration entered 2017 rather than 2016. I was offered an "upgrade" to a junior suite that had 1... More
