Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The food is pretty good as far as pub food goes in the area.....but golly gee the younger wait staff need to up there happiness levels. Sullen looks and just dropping meals on tables...maybe they need a bit of training from the older girls.

Stayed for 4 nights recently, was the perfect location for a tennis tournament at Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club. Had a nice country feel, was peaceful & quiet. Rooms were basic but clean & comfortable. Continental breakfast was included. Super impressed with the bistro & front bar. Ate in bistro 3 nights & front bar 1 night. Had 4 different meals, couldn’t fault any of them. Bottleo also on site. We don’t normally stay over that side of town but would go back for dinner again if in the area, really impressed with meals, great menu with a lot of choice. Thank you!

I have always enjoyed the meals at blue gums. I have just recently had the pleasure of eating at their new bar 345. Its a real eye opener and fresh design from the old tired sports bar they used to have. I really like how they have incorporated a beer garden open end with fake grass. The overall design is just so welcoming. I had the veggie burger, which was delicious and quite cheap in my opinion, the patty i believe looks home made (and their relish too) it was full of flavour. Even if your not big on veggie food, i highly recommend it. Best veggie burger i ever had.

My partner also had the salt and pepper squid, which was cooked perfectly and flavoursome. We also shared a bowl of chips which were crisp and crunchy. The presentation of food was quite different as well. The blue gums staff, are always very friendly and take great care in their customers and their food. Will keep coming back, very satisfied.

We have been going to this hotel for ages. Always good food, but something has changed. We had dozen oysters $36 normally good size but these were small. Then ordered the special sticky rib with mash only one rib for $36 and also had alantic salmon with mash it was cold. Waited for 45 mins to get food.

My partner and myself booked a room. We had a funeral to go to and live far away from Adelaide. When we booked in were told we had to pay $200 bond! and would have to wait 5 working days for it to be refunded. That left us very short of money. Room had a really noisy air con. it was quite cold but we had to turn it off as i couldnt sleep. In the morning went to have a shower and no cold water! didnt have enough time to wait for it to be fixed. Wont be staying there again!

This was the noisiest restaurant ever... 2 piece band playing music so loud that you could not talk, music peaked a 100DB (yes i had a meter). 6 out of the 8 meals where good, 1 Calamari was burnt to a crisp and a Steak was dry and tasteless.

Couldn't wait to leave... not a place for a relaxed family meal

The room I stayed in was absolutely filthy, it was very much a waste of 90$.... I think I'd rather sleep in a tent. On the other hand, the food at blue gums is lovely and so is the atmosphere (in the restaurant part)... But the accommodation either needs to be cleaned or the price drastically lowered.

Booked for 10 people for Mothers Day lunch. Food was good but will not return to this hotel for the following reason. My daughter is a small eater and ordered an entree size veggy stack and requested it be brought out with the main meals everyone else ordered. My daughter was told that it would cost an extra $4.50 for this to occur , no other explanation as to why the extra charge . She declined to pay this and her meal came out prior to the rest of our meals, consequently she ate alone. This action from the hotel soured the rest of our time there. We spent a lot of money on food n drink for the lunch and are extremely disappointed that this happened. Will not be returning to the Blue Gums again. Will also advise others of this action by the hotel.
I have eaten in restaurants all over the world and have never experienced this before.

Friendly staff, great service. The staff seemed happy to be there, smiling and laughing, interacting with patrons. Magnificent food, from the steak to the kids menu. The veg and salad bar was plentiful, great variety and fresh. Highly recommended.

I would like to thank Christian very much at bar 345 at Blue Gums. He helped give my Son & I an Amaaazing nite out for his Bday. He was only turning 4yrs, but due 2 car restrictions i couldnt take him anywhere further than the walk to Blue Gums. With no play area for kids, it was clearly a concern for me about how much fun he could have?! But thanks 2 Christian & some really great food.... they made it happen for us!!! A nite myself or my young son will NEVER forget. 😘😘😘

My only 'beef' i guess, was with a young blonde bar 'attendant', whom was Far from ATTENTIVE. Too busy flicking t-towels at her surrounding male bar staff. I was not even offered to b served or even noticed we were there by her??!! Highly unprofessional!
Thank goodness for the food & Especially THE EXPERIENCE Christian & other lovely male colleague gave us.
Would have been Full Rating if not for above mentioned sheer rudeness.
