The Sunset Motel in St. Ignatius is a favorite place where I return again and again whenever I visit the Mission Valley. It is conveniently located right of the highway, it has ample parking (I always bring a stock trailer). The rooms are clean, large with beautiful views and come equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave and a few shelves...

The shower floor is building up scum, lack of SCUBBING, just spraying walls and floor of shower.Under the beds are filthy, trash under bed, not cleaning throughly. Had to sleep in the middle of the beds, as both sides were broken down on both beds. Dust on the wall hangings. Very old radio cabinet holding TV, thrift store find. Blankets...

Just needed a quiet stop on long drive and chose Sunset as it was just off the highway. Our room was very big, the bathroom new and fresh with a great shower, the bed very comfortable and the towels soft and fluffy. There was even a microwave and fridge. Couldn't hear a sound at night so we made the right...

Rooms could do with a bit of refurbishing but the bed was comfortable and a nice view of Mission Mountains. No elevator to 2nd floor rooms. About a 10 minute walk to the town centre and supermarket. Handing for visiting the Bison Refuge.

I love staying in local hotels while on vacation and this one was no disappointment. It is an older hotel so don't expect a spa bathroom and big screen HDTV but you can expect an EXTREMELY clean room and for $75.00/night you can't go wrong. Bathroom was spotless and beds were comfy and the view from our back window was...

Keep in mind this is a motel built in the 70s. If you are looking for a Holiday Inn, you wont be finding that in this little Montana town. Clean, friendly owner, and walking distance to most of St. Ignatius. It also has an espresso stand in the lobby. Nice view of the Mission Mountains.

Keep on driving! If you don't... check out the filth in the bed rails. We encountered so many crawling bugs in the room the kids were afraid to go to bed. The entire complex is in dire need of some major attention.

We stayed there one night in June to attend a local wedding. First problem, it was over 100 degrees that day and the room had a broken air conditioner. We've stayed her many times when visiting our kids in St. Ignatius - very nice owners and very accommodating - they even let our kids come get our room key for our late arrival! Mike has an fun sense of humor - always enjoy getting coffee from him.
