We really enjoyed our stay at the High Country. The room is good size and very comfortable. The owners and staff are all very nice and accommodating and the location is unbelievable. It is family owned and they made our family feel very welcomed. If you're planning a trip to the Yellowstone area, I'd highly recommend staying at the High...

Great little place, cozy, clean and comfortable. Owners were very nice people and very helpful in recommending restaurants. No one in office when we checked in but heard A voice from above, and then she slid down a fire pole. They were very friendly and nice. No breakfast but nice restaurants in town, which consists of one street. A few...

Just a few miles from thousands of buffalo, nestled between the mountain tops, sits Cooke City. The motel is on the south side of the road and walking distance to everything in town. We stayed in a cabin which made our stay very quiet. Much of the room had recently been remodeled including the bathroom. The new beds were by...

Do not recommend, owner is rude, not welcoming at all. Rooms were decent, setting was beautiful small town. I was very disappointed in the way the owner conducted himself during our stay. Definitely would not recommend this establishment to anyone going to Cooke City. Save your time and money stay elsewhere.

Management response:

We are not rude or bad people as the rest of our reviews reflect. We take so much pride in our place, sometimes to a fault really. I regret that this happened and that this continues to be present in our lives. Please see my reply for the "nightmare" review below as you are part of the same group.

We stayed in cabin 2 for 3 nights. The main room was spacious enough for 2 adults and 3 kids. The shower was a little smaller, but we managed and it got the job done! Conveniently located, friendly people everywhere. We would stay again!

I normally don't write reviews but this was necessary to let motorcycle people know this place is not biker friendly. Owner's were intoxicated and unfriendly. Would not recommend it at all. Stay across the street at Alpine Inn, much more appreciative of us staying with them.

Management response:

Most of your party actually apologized for their behavior that night. Your group was being over the top loud and basically had a water balloon fest with my daughters water balloons she had filled herself for the parade the next day. I was actually trying to watch a movie, when I couldn't even hear it inside my house and finally...

We found ourselves in Cooke City around 9pm on evening after accidentally taking the NE (instead of the E) exit out of Yosemite. I was with my mom and sister, and we decided that this place was the most inviting for 3 women. The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating (even letting us choose which room we wanted). We stayed...

This lodge and cabin setup is right at the edge of town and very convenient to good restaurants up the road. We stayed in Cabin #1 and found it very comfortable. We chose it because we were 2 couples in one room but the queen beds were offset so that we had some privacy. Had lovely down comforters. New TV's,...

OK place to stay for one night. Beds not comfortable. Room was big. Not a new place by any stretch of the imagination. But close to beartooth hwy. Not many choices in Cooke City for motels or restaurants.

The High Country Motel and Cabins is not a luxury inn by any means, but the staff and location make up for it. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The lobby has a nice little store in it also and the staff were more than willing to go out of their way to help you find something or get what...
