Mountain modern luxury has arrived in Butte. The historic Copper King Inn has re-opened after a multi year renovation as the Clarion Inn Copper King Convention Center. We feature 92 beautiful rooms and luxurious public spaces, as well as Montana's Rib and Chop House on-site and Flawless Spa on-site. A full hot breakfast buffet is included for all guests. We are close to all Butte attractions and amenities including St. James Healthcare and Montana Tech. Groups, Events and Conferences from 10 - 500 guests may inquire at with the hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Check-in was quick, front staff very friendly. Large room with very comfortable king bed, good linens. Modern bathroom with walk-in shower, plenty of towels and toiletries. We were a little late for breakfast but staff lets us eat anyway, very good of them. Hotel has restaurant attached, very convienent. Will definitely stay here again.
I was surprised that the Copper King had closed because I recall the fanfare that opened what was touted as the state's largest convention center in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The pool area is more enclosed, with a larger meeting space away from the pool area. In the past there was only meeting area around the pool, which was nice, but didn't fit all the different types of meeting needs. The entry way now has a large welcoming gas fireplace that serves as a warm gathering area, especially in the sub ten degree temperatures we found during our visit. The rooms are comfortable and large enough to enjoy staying in and looking out at the cold winter weather. Oddities that we noticed however, were that there was no fan in the bathroom and that the overhead central air blew on us during the night. The dry air in Montana did make us use the lotions provided, but our hands and lips were chapped during most of our stay, so visitors should prepare for this situation.
The looped television vignette about the rise, fall, and rebirth of the Copper King Inn was a nice feature. Visitor would likely be interested to watch this short history of the hotel where they are staying and it's nice that it's on a continual run on channel 2. Our Lady of the Rockies's history on the same kind of loop would also be a nice thing to watch.

Thank you so much for wonderful review depicting our hotel! In regards to the fan in the bathrooms, we have a constant air circulation system that continuously runs. The central air that you stated will run too if your thermostat is set to "Fan" instead of "Auto", which you can control from your thermostat mounted on the wall. We are so sorry you had complications with this. We have our front desk and maintenance staff that could have assisted with it. Thank you so much for the suggestion regarding Our Lady of the Rockies documentary, we do offer the DVD in our gift shop along with the book located near the front desk. If you're in the Butte area again, we hope you will come visit us!
I almost don't want to write a review because it might let out the secret of how amazing this place is...We spent a night here in October when we were driving through Montana. Of our 2 week trip the Clarion Inn in Butte was by far the best place we stayed for all of the following reasons: - Very clean rooms & common areas - Comfortable beds with blackout curtains - Quiet - A clean gym with new equipment and a pool - Incredible buffet breakfast (included) with SO many food options (they even had gluten free muffins and soy milk!) and lots of fresh and delicious fruit which is normally a rarity on these buffets. So so impressive and a great way to start our day! - Amazing value (they even have free ice cream in the evenings!) - Friendly and helpful staff
Thank you so much for such an awesome stay!! We can't wait to come back!
The Copper King has been completely renovated. And a very nice job of renovation it was. The rooms are very nice, the hotel is very clean and modern. The restaurant is nice and the food good. The included breakfast is quite complete and nicely presented.
The hotel Staff were excellent including the bar staff the front desk and the staff at breakfast. The room felt alittle up scale with its rain shower . The room was clean and we were very happy to sleep in that king size bed since we had traveled from Gig Harbor WA . To top it all the price felt like a steal for the service we received. Thank you
