Family wedding ,it was centrally located and it was easy to get in and out. I had always heard about it when I live there. It was the old classic charm with great hotel staff and a great ball and nostalgic memorabilia and a cigar room. I think I will stay there on my next trip. This hotel had a...

We used a two room suite on the 7th floor of this historic older hotel/club. It is a beautiful building that has been well maintained. Although not recently, updated everything was clean and well stocked. We had a slight problem with our confirmation that was quickly and satisfactorily resolved.

We stayed here last night as we were in town for a St. Louis Cardinals game. We made reservations weeks ago and everything went well for check in. My first observation to you is that this is not a luxury hotel. The rooms are almost Euro like in terms of size and amenities but I will tell you everything for...

My experience started off terribly. When I got there, my reservation had been lost. Even though I had confirmation number, they couldn't seem to figure out what happened. After what seemed like an eternity (about 45 minutes), the lady at the front desk provided me 2 rooms instead of 1 with cheapest rate available. I had 4 people in my...

I can't tell you much about the fitness program or lodging facilities. But a member invited me to Sunday Breakfast at the Jack Buck Grille. The food was excellent and the service was great. Over and above that this is the type of building that resembles a 19th century Gentleman's Club. The woodwork is just beautiful and something you don't...

My husbands company had their yearly dinner here in one of the rooms and we stayed the night. The food for the dinner was very good especially the desserts. The hotel is very historic and beautifully maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful The room we had was an outside room and very small even for just the two of...

My boyfriend and I stumbled into the MAC on a visit to St. Louis when we stayed in another hotel. This time, we already knew how beautiful the lobby and lower floors of the club were and decided to stay in the hotel. We weren't disappointed, it was the best night of my long holiday trip. The two girls in...

If you are a club person, this is the place to go. Over the past two years our family has stayed here many times. Even though we are not members, the staff know us by name and take good care of us. While not "modern", it has all of the facilities that you need and is in a great location.

The MAC is definitely in great shape for you to make an overnight stay. I am here for an extended stay, and can confirm that the athletic facilities and food services are fully up to a private club standard. Over a weekend the place was busy with weddings, family celebrations and other matters that bring in the local membership. Front...

A stunning interior awaits you! A gorgeous establishment. Front counter staff very pleasant, room small as was the bathroom, quite quiet at night even with our room being located right next to the elevator, bed and pillows comfortable. We ate dinner on the night of arrival after having a walk around the city area (which is really only workers -...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Missouri Athletic Club Downtown, is a unique, yet classic fixture of St. Louis' historic Washington Avenue since 1904. Original mahogany wood, rich leather, and lavish hand carved detailing, lay the ambiance of this one of a kind experience. Both the Jack Buck Grill and Sportman's Club, each house their own bar atmosphere, and are known across Missouri as the best in the business for top-notch American cuisine from Chef Barton Phillips. One of the sole remaining establishments in St. Louis where cigars can both be purchased and enjoyed in traditional luxury club atmosphere, the experience is one-of-a-kind, the Art Gallery on the Lobby level is breathtaking, and the facilities are extensive to say the least. Best of all, you don't have to be a member to stay overnight in one of our 74 guest rooms and suites, and take advantage of our prime downtown location! Within walking distance to Busch Stadium, the Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis Gateway Arch, and the banks of the Mississippi River, and easily accessible to several major highways and St. Louis' own Metro Link commuter system. ... more   less
