We stayed here for one night after a visit to the Dakotas and Nebraska. The location was convenient, and our room was comfortable and quiet. Our A/C worked well; there was no bedside clock provided. The breakfast was fine, with the typical Hampton Inn selections (the breakfast room is small). Our stay was fine, but the room rate we were charged for this location was way too high for the quality and condition of the hotel amenities.

This wasn't quite the hell-hole some other reviewers have noted: The Battle Creek, MI Hampton wins that title by a mile. On the plus side, it appears that my bathroom had been at least partially renovated recently. The room was clean, and everything was in working order. The bed was comfortable. Although the lobby was small, I didn't let that bother me as I don't spend time hanging around hotel lobbies. The breakfast was standard Hampton Inn fare and was okay. Staff was friendly on both check-in and check-out. On the minus side: I sailed right past the Inn looking for it. It's squeezed into an odd-sized location and is very easy to miss. Bring earplugs! The room was extremely noisy from traffic--not from the nearby interstate, but from morons racing up and down the street outside until all hours. While the room was clean, it did suffer from that "old motel" smell. The parking lot desperately needs a resurfacing. I also noted the car parked next to mine was broken into that night, the glass still all over the pavement. Don't leave anything that someone might regard as a valuable in your car overnight.…

We made reservations here and got to the place. It looked nice from the outside. When I went in I literally stopped in my tracks. I would guess the entry way to be 4 feet wide till you get to front desk which reminded me of the motels of years ago. 300 for this place? Well we decided to go to our room and nothing made it any better. There was a small window in our room that was a little foggy. My wife and I looked at each other and said...I don't think so. We checked out and left. Whew. Somebody reviewing saying that it is spacious is obviously an insider. Flooring around the toilet had not been replaced when a smaller based toilet was installed and the baseboards had a layer of dust along where a vacuum powerhead does not reach.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times over the last 20 years. It is in dire need of a total makeover, it’s certainly not up to Hampton standards and we will not be staying here anymore as there are newer hotels in this city. I hope there is a total remodel in the future..

hotel room was very worn and AC system did not work properly. I am a long time Hilton Honors member and it is rare to find a proper in this poor of shape. Hotel staff were very nice. We did not use the pool or fitness room.

Was threatened to be kicked out for nonpayment even after the credit card company said it was approved on their end and the problem was actually on the hotel side and Colby (manager)couldn’t even be man enough to apologize when in fact he was in the wrong.

I stayed there while on vacation with my 10 year old. I asked while making reservations if the pool was available and yes it is. When we went to the pool later after dinner we found the pool to be absolutely FILTHY! There was floss sticks floating on n the pool, hair and dirt all over the pool floor. The pool is so cloudy you can’t see the bottom even in the 3 ft area. The hot yum has scum yes scum where you can see footprints on the bottom. For a $200.00 room this place is a crap hole!!

I can’t recommend the Hampton Inn in Saint Joseph, MO enough. Great breakfast with lots of options including a hot option, spacious rooms that have everything a business traveler might want, strong and fast wifi, all-day tea and coffee, staff who are at the ready to help and who always smile and have a few nice words to say - even when you see them several times in one day. Even the cleaning staff and restaurant staff were eager to help make my stay more enjoyable. For example, I was offered a complimentary bag of chips and a water bottle after I told staff during friendly banter that I hadn’t had dinner yet and planned to go out to dinner after I drop my bag upstairs. The inn is on woodbine which runs two blocks away and parallel to the Belt Hwy. You can find a lot of restaurants and all kinds of other businesses on the Belt Hwy. I also enjoyed the good quality toiletries provided. I will definitely stay here again. …

This property has been renovated but left some important things out… first, the AC fan runs continuously, despite of reaching the temperature, and really loud. But the worst part is the clogged tub, which I reported and heard “it’s like that”. What?!
