Detailed Reviews
We were kindly upgraded to one of the Eveleen suites which was large and newly renovated. Unfortunately they are not well sited as they look into the setting sun and get very hot late afternoon. There is no a/c but a fan is provided but it did mean that sitting on the deck was not practical. Also they are supposed to have a valley view but this is obscured by the row of units below. Our biggest disappointment was the continental breakfast provide each day. It was very poor with only a basic choice of cereal with tinned fruit, packaged white or brown sliced bread, packaged packs of vegemite, peanut butter, or strawberry jam and some sweet yoghurt. While we were in Norfolk fresh bananas, melons and pawpaw, cucumbers and tomatoes were available and the bakers had a variety of multigrain and raisin breads which would have added some variety to the selection over the week we stayed. A slice of cheese or some honey would have been great. Our unit had a sink, fridge, table and chairs but no dishes or cutlery so providing for ourselves was not easy. Having said that the staff were very friendly and helpful and our unit and the public areas kept beautifully clean. Car hire was cheap and a guest laundry was available and the resort is well placed in Burnt Pine.

Recently stayed here as part of a Scenic tour. Our room (45) was large and had a double plus a single bed. I slept in the single which had no support and was bent like a banana. Our sheets were not changed in the 10 days we were there and towels replaced only if you leave them in shower.A couple of times we asked for clean towels at reception. My doona had yellow stains on it and pointed it out to staff after several days. (I suspect the cleaners aren't being thorough). No sign of vacuuming etc.
The food for breakfast is good and lots of variety. The cafe is only open for lunch. There is nowhere to eat or buy food at night.I feel if they insist on calling themselves a resort they should provide evening meals.Bar service is intermittent. Hot water often runs out during a shower so you need to hop and out and push the button again. Tea bags etc were not replenished unless asked for, same with shampoo. They provide body wash for shower that is so slippery it is dangerous.

Responded 15 June 2022
Hi Julene, Greetings from South Pacific Resort Hotel. Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate your comments and we take all by heart and do our best to improve our service. We value our guests comments and comfort so when you came and pointed out abut the Donna with stains(Rust), Leia went on to change it. As I mentioned on your checked in day that housekeeping is daily service except on Sundays and Public Holidays, Fresh towels are available at the reception when needed. and sheets are only to be change once a week. Our sincere apologies if yours wasn't change, Our housekeeping staff do their best to service rooms however, there are days that rooms are being missed to clean. This is taken into consideration and we will do our best to provide the service you all are expected. Have a lovely holiday in the future!

A huge thanks to Cici, Wendy and AJ for helping to make my stay so enjoyable.
The hotel itself is so well located with the town more or less on the door steps.
Service is excellent and the staff are so friendly and learn your name so quickly.
There are a mix of room types here, and my Superior room with valley views was spacious.
Note only some rooms have ceiling fans and none have aircon however other fans are available.
Beds are comfortable, and all bathroom needs are provided for daily except for Sundays but more are on request from the front desk.
Whilst there is a restaurant on site, during my stay it was only a basic but adequate continental breakfast available however with traveller numbers set to increase expect more facilities to keep opening.
Short of that you have plenty of cafes and dining options a short walk away.
A pool is on site and was relaxing and quiet during my stay.
Car hire available and the staff are so kind also to offer other transfers to wherever you may want to go.
Ultimately it's the lovely staff that make this place a great place to base yourself on the Island.

My superior room was lovely and spacious. Very clean room and bathroom. The breakfast served each morning was lovely and dinners were nice. The coffee shop offered a light lunch of toasted sandwiches but you are also within walking distance of cafes and shops. There is also a bar at the hotel. The staff are all friendly and polite and make a real effort in learning the guests names. I would most definitely stay here on my next visit to Norfolk Island.

Stayed in October, once we arrived we were told could not use pool due to COVID, restaurant hardly open and when it was basic meals were expensive, had to pay for wifi that we could only access in foyer, then it wasn’t that great. Rooms very basic and old, even what they classed as gardens rooms, gardens were not nice. When I did email the manager with my complaints was told if I wanted something nicer should have stayed elsewhere. Not a good experience really don’t think it’s 3.5 star resort

I stayed at South Pacific Resort with a tour group, on a 7 night stay. Everything about this hotel was fabulous.
We were offered a fully cooked breakfast each day, which had plenty of options. Most nights, our group dined in the hotel restaurant, where we had a choice of 2 mains and 2 sweets. The trumpeter fish is to die for!!!!!
As well, the head chef was amazing.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A group of us hired a small car for one day at a cost of just $55. Incredible stuff. So easy to organise, as it was done thru the hotel. Then only $11 to fill at the end of the day.
Beautiful swimming pool and plenty of areas around the hotel to sit and chat.
The room was of an older style, but had heaps of room, was very clean and nice hot shower.
Very close to town, just a short walk.
Highly recommend this wonderful establishment.

My wife and I stayed at the resort for 8 nights. The resort is large with around 70 rooms however due to Covid-19 there were only about 10 guests in the resort. As a result the restaurant was closed as was the bar and coffee lounge. Nonetheless we had a very enjoyable stay and the service provided by Wendy, A J and Cici was excellent. Our room which was a superior room was very large and was very clean. I would recommend a superior room rather than a standard room as the former have good views over the valley and are all on ground level.
The resort is in walking distance of the main shopping area, however on Norfolk Island a car is essential as there is no public transport.
The Continental breakfast which is complimentry is very basic and could be improved with some fresh fruit and pastries.
If I returned to Norfolk Island I would stay again at the South Pacific. When the resort returns to normal following the end of Covid-19 and all the facilities are reopened, it would be a great place to stay.

The staff where so helpful and always friendly nothing was a problem.
Great location being only a few minutes walk to the town centre, clubs restaurants and coffee shops.
Continental breakfast was included but you can also order a fully cooked a la cart in the restaurant. Did not have any other meals in house as there were so many other options on the island we wanted to try.
Rooms were clean and tidy, serviced each day apart from Sundays and public holidays.
Beautiful out door pool area and function centre with great views of the town and mountains.
We were totally satisfied with the style of accommodation and service offered.

Having been to Norfolk a few times we know what to expect in terms of the standard of accommodation in most places. It tends to be clean but a little on the rustic side.
This hotel is no different. The place is stuck in a time warp but I also know how difficult it would be to renovate not to mention the cost. We had a superior room which was clean but definitely showing its age with a lot of scuffs and marks everywhere.
I also could not believe how much branding there was on everything - pillows, sheets, cups, plates, towels etc - seems slightly mad and unnecessary.
The rooms are warm and you will be thankful for any cross breeze. In fact adding ceiling fans would fix this issue really easily. The beds are REALLY uncomfortable. They have almost no support and if the other person in the bed moves it is like a tsunami rolling through the bed. Other odd things are the small TV which cannot be seen (or rotated to be seen) from the couch, water jug not being filled, giant key ring and dinner....
I have never stayed anywhere where I have to pre-order dinner and have that done by 4:00 pm. Also asking for our dinner to be at 7:30 pm was far too late. The latest they would do this was 6:45 pm. We decided to order and when in our room we were then advised that as we were the only two guests dining that would we mind our meal as room service. No real issue.
That said we went to the lobby bar for a drink (the only people there on a Saturday night) and the staff were happy to serve our meal there. This was significantly better. The food itself was fine, a bit expensive for what it was.
The staff were quite friendly and very polite.
Overall the stay was fine but will choose elsewhere for our next visit.

My Husband & I enjoyed a 14 night escape to Norfolk in January 2021. We are so happy we chose to stay at the South Pacific Resort. The staff were absolutely fantastic, Wendy was pretty much running the Hotel and doing a fantastic job ... we had an issue after one week when a noisy neighbor, Wendy moved us without hesitation to a quiet room with more space, nothing was too much trouble. AJ, Princess and Leah were always attentive at breakfast & often around the resort, bar or reception. The hotel is well situated easy walk into town and straight across the road to the RSL. We used the pool area almost daily and it was always kept beautiful and clean. I would definitely recommend this Hotel.

All rooms are ground floor and our room did not have a bath just a shower. Hope this is helpful.
Ni free WiFi - it is available at a charge
Do you mean specifically at this hotel ? We only ate here once and I don't remember it being particularly expensive. The restaurants on Norfolk are generally quite reasonably priced in my opinion and the food is of a very high quality. It's still an undiscovered gem in the pacific and I'm surprised more people don't know about it. There are quite a few restaurants an easy walk from the South Pacific Resort hotel.
We stayed last christmas and really enjoyed ourselves. Such a relaxed holiday.
