Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently stayed as a Group of 13 at these great cottages. Well set-up & everything was waiting for us on arrival. Unit is very clean & spacious. We took advantage of the meeting room as a gathering spot many times. BBQ area is also very handy. Highly recommend

We have just spent a week in this wonderful accommodation. It is accommodation for 2. There was everything you want in a unit, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils. There were replacement of soaps etc in the cupboards. There was everything you could want - good hair dryer, iron and ironing board, good washing machine with a plentiful supply of soap, cleaning equipment, beach towels and spare bathroom towels. The unit we had No 8 had a wonderful view of Philip Island. It came with a car from Boori hire cars. This enabled us to go where we wanted. Up the road was the Boathouse and Bayles restaurant. We would recommend this as one of the best places to stay on the island, especially if you like this type of accommodation.

The location was ideal, a the property well maintained and all that was needed for a relaxing holiday. The recreation room was an additional facility if you entertained. Just a five minute drive from the main street.

The units are comfortable, the views magnificent, and it made for a very restful and enjoyable holiday. A request to the owners to obtain a disability device was met promptly and efficiently. It certainly helped put us at ease, very much recommended.

Let’s just start with, if I could rate it 0 stars, I would. Came here as we booked though a travel agency and it’s safe to say I will NEVER return. The accommodation is so outdated and old, it needs gutting and refurbishment to say the very least. Mould and damp all over the curtains, as shown in the below photo. The attached pictures show how the housekeeping team operate and how they think it’s acceptable to leave a room. Might I add, I did not spill the coffee or tea which was on my pillowcase. When I approached the cleaners, NUMEROUS times, I was met with nothing but eye-rolling and scoffing, and leaving me feel like a burden, in a unit I had paid to be in. Do not waste your time or money coming here. It is abysmal and embarrassing. Without a doubt the worst experience I have had.

We stayed here as part of a package deal with a travel agent, so I am not quite sure which parts are on behalf of the agent and which is the norm for these units, but in any case, it was fantastic. We were met at the airport by a Baunty (pronounced Bounty) Tour rep who provided us with a key to our unit as well as directing us to our transfer to the accommodation and advising us that our hire car was already at the unit. On the way, the driver pointed out a few of the necessities, groceries, places to eat etc, and then promptly dropped at our unit. Our hire car was parked at the unit and our name was written on a plaque outside, so no confusion. A ½ day familiarisation tour was also included to show you some of the things on the island that might interest you so you can plan your stay. On entry we were presented with a clean modern apartment, separate bedroom, dinning and kitchen with everything you would need including a plentiful supply of coffee, tea and sugar to get you started. On the table was the keys to our car as well as a mobile phone with $3.00 credit for use on the island. I only need the phone once to book dinner at one of the restaurants, but we used the car every day. As the island is going through tough times with supply of goods as the ship has ceased for the moment, the car was handy to search out the necessities of life for our stay. As there is no dock/wharf where a ship can berth everything is currently coming in by air. The RAAF was commencing a 3 day a week supply run to assist with the supply of goods until a ship can be organised. There was also a heater as well as fans for the summer, as air conditioners are not allowed on the island due to the limited electricity supply. The view was excellent, as others have said, unit 10 has the best views and we happened to get unit 10, but O would stay in any of the units. In fact, of all the accommodation on the island I do believe that the Ocean Breeze has one of the best outlooks of most, only a couple of places would have a better outlook. We walked into town each morning which took about 40mins return. Close enough to the township, but far enough away to make you feel like you are in the country. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if we were to travel to Norfolk Island again, and we are planning to, we would most likely stay here again.

We travelled as 6 couples and had adjoining units with a hire car included with each unit. Check in is a well oiled process with pick up from the airport and drop off at the door. The facility is located with views over Phillip Island. The units are fully self contained with all necessities including a picnic basket. The cars are small 4 door automatics ideal for driving around Norfolk. There is a large guest lounge with tables and chairs as well as a separate barbecue pavilion again with tables and chairs. There is a tennis court. Well maintained and very comfortable. TV is from Australia with all free to air channels. We all were very pleased with our accommodation which is not quite within short walking distance to the town centre but the route is flat. We had a week on the Island and ran out of time with things to do both free and paid for. History is fantastic and there are walks and nature trails to follow. Norfolk Island is probably not for young children or teenagers (limited internet - expensive) but has swimming golf fishing and other out door pursuits. We have been three times and will go again and will stay at Ocean Breeze.
