Aloha is a friendly place to stay. The staff are more than helpful, the rooms are serviced daily (if required), beach and pool towels are available, and they have their own public restaurant on the street front of the facility. Access is via a long drive, so there is no road noise, and the Bowling Club Bistro is also virtually next door with the shopping mall opposite. This is a good spot to stay. By the way, air conditioning is prohibited on the island to conserve electricity, and hence expensive fuel. The feral hens will visit you, and even come into the rooms without any fear.

I stayed here for a week in Jan 2020 with my sister and our elderly Mum. These single storey, self contained apartments are an older style but they are extremely well maintained with all the mod cons and very clean and comfortable. Each apartment has a parking spot.
We stayed in a two bed unit. The water pressure in the shower is very good. The beds are comfy, bed linen and towels are like new. Tea, coffee and sugar are updated daily.
Aloha Apartments are very well situated in town with an easy walk to the supermarket, cafes, Bowling Club and shops.
The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

Thank you very much for your review! It is extremely important for us to know our guests opinion - if there are flaws, we would like to attend to them as soon as possible; if guests are happy - we praise our wonderful staff and let them know that their commitment is appreciated. I stayed at Aloha for a week whilst on holiday with my adult daughter. We were pleasantly surprised with how lovely our accommodation was. I know that this place has been here a long time, as a couple of decades ago I looked at staying here with my mother. It appears to have recently been refurbished. We had a two bedroom apartment which each had king size beds, but could be split into four singles, if you wanted to stay with a group of friends. The beds were very comfortable with proper doona covers, not the weird folding of huge sheets.
The shower was good and we were able to get fresh towels without an extra charge. The apartments are not serviced during your stay. All items that we required in the kitchen were supplied, though we did eat out all but one evening.. Wi-Fi is available and 2G’s each was given for free. However, the wi-if on the island is rather patchy, so some days were better than others.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Aloha Apartments are centrally located in the Burnt Pines township, Norfolk Island’s principal commercial and hospitality precinct.
Nothing is too much trouble for the Aloha staff. The apartments are spacious, well equiped and maintained.
We enjoyed our 7 day stay immensely and will certainly return. The resort has a large central reception are for guest support including advise on tours, car hire etc. In addition there is a guest entertainment room suit for group functions and a ‘Departure Lounge’ for guest use on their final day.

Convenient location in the middle of town. Able to walk to retail outlets, restaurants and clubs. Two bedroom deluxe apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable. A welcome breeze swept through the large windows and fans available. Extra conveniences included an umbrella and a picnic basket featuring a thermos and an insulated bag. Bathroom had grab rails to support those who need them. Flat and accessible. Pool was a delight and open until 9pm so late evening swims could be enjoyed. Well kept gardens. Quiet, peaceful accommodation perfect for a relaxing holiday. Staff were super friendly and professional in all interactions. If I ever return to Norfolk, which I hope to, I would stay here again.

There are many good things about Aloha, but our stay was memorable for our constant battle with cockroaches. Every morning there would be as many as a dozen tiny roaches running round the bathroom floor or flushing into the toilet. At night large ones appeared, even in the bedroom curtains. This continued right through our visit.
PROS: good location; handy for shops, clubs, cafes, supermarket; lovely pool; car parking at door of unit; good cooking/self catering facilities; very friendly obliging staff; pool/beach towels provided; many of the tours pick you up at the property; the unit layout would make this a good choice for a family/friends group booking
CONS: no views; very dated looking - looks like somewhere you’d go for your Year 8 school camp; couldn’t fit the fan into the bedroom without the danger of tripping over it - needn’t it on the hot nights; cockroaches!

Thank you very much for taking the tame to post the review. We highly appreciate your feedback, especially any negative notes as it helps us to see our faults and the ways to improve. It was very unfortunate that you visited Norfolk Island during the driest summer ever recorded. Pest control is one of our highest priorities and we strictly stick to the treatment schedule and use the services of a licensed pest control company. They advised that despite all the effort, the little buggers sneak into dwellings in desperate search for water and at this time of the year targeted treatment is required whenever intruders are noticed. Thank you for noting that a few of our 39 two-bedroom apartments still look outdated. We are in constant process of working on upgrading our rooms and most of them now look very attractive. However, the recent difficulties with freight to the island have considerably slowed down the process and we sincerely apologise that your room wasn't up to your expectations. Thank you once again for reviewing our apartments.

Our two bedroom apartment was very clean, with the kitchen drawers containing all the gadgets we might need. It was great to see an umbrella & picnic basket - fortunately our umbrella wasn't needed. The very convenient position in the Village is a huge bonus for easy walking to the Supermarket, the yummy meals at the Bowling Club & of course browsing through the shops. It was great that 95% of our booked tours picked us up at the front of Aloha & then dropped us back again. This was my 3rd stay at Aloha Apartments & I would definitely book again on any return visits.

At first sight they may not be what you are looking for but you couldn’t ask for more
The units are more than adequate, very comfortable with everything you need. Self catering is easy but can recommend the High Tide restaurant on site for meals and coffee. Brunch is well worth it
Staff are friendly and very helpful. The gardens were suffering from the drought but still cared for
Would highly recommend this as the place to stay

Thank you Sunshine557481 for your honest review. We try our best to ensure that our units are well equipped for guests to enjoy their home away from home. Our gardener, Amanda, does a great job with the general upkeep of the gardens and we have finally been enjoying some decent rain in the last couple of days. I will pass on your compliments to the hard working High Tide staff :)

Stayed at Aloha for a week in May-June 2022. The rooms (friends were in an adjoining room), were well equipped and maintained, relatively modern, and comfortable. No complaints. The location was also great, very central for dining and supplies, and an easy walk along the main street. The staff were also very helpful in arranging some of our activities, and friendly as well.

There are not enough superlatives in either the English or the Pitkern languages to describe how good this stay was from time of arrival to day of departure seven days later. We had advised the tour agent several weeks before that this trip was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Well, we were upgraded to a larger apartment and whilst we were out exploring Norfolk Island, we returned to find chocolates, a bottle of bubbles and a congratulations card, all artistically presented on the main table. For this we are eternally grateful and especially to Anisa, the lady of Fijian heritage who arranged this wonderful surprise and recognition. But our praise for the stay is not only because of what she did but for the overall impression we have of a clean, comfortable and quiet environment, wonderfully kept gardens, perfect facilities and the location of the premises which is within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, weekend markets and the visitor centre.
