We had the pleasure of staying at Landfall Cottage (aka Cottage on Gunning) for our last 2 nights in Tasmania. After driving down from Launceston we arrived fairly late in the day in Richmond and found several sweet holiday-let cottages around the village so which one to chose? Landfall appealed to me the most as the cottage exterior and gardens... More

A wonderful cottage a very short stroll to all that Richmond has to offer and a moments drive to the many surrounding wineries! We arrived late on the afternoon of June 28th and rang the owner direct to check availability for 2 nights. We were in luck! Peta was a very welcoming host and ran through the ins and outs... More

We loved our stay at Cottage on Gunning. We prefer cottage accomodation to hotels when we travel and this one is must surely have everything you could possibly need. It was roomy and comfortable, generous provisions for breakfast, and a friendly and helpful host (although we didn't get to meet in person). The beds were comfortable, DVDs to watch, books... More

Thank you for your positive review. Sorry I did not get to meet you personally but my guests at my other cottage just outside the village were also checking out the same day and I was delayed there. Hopefully you will visit again and I will get to meet you. More

Thank you Glenyss for your lovely review. Richmond has a lot of history and my cottage is just one of many examples of faithfully restored buildings now housing businesses for others to enjoy. Each year my repeat customers grow in number and like you they enjoy the cosy, homely cottage and garden. More

A lovely maintained and presented cottage with everything you could want. Will plan my next trip to Tasmania around the availability of the cottage. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

From the minute we drove up the driveway, we knew we had found a very unique and gorgeous place to stay for our last 3 days in Tasmania. We regret not having booked a longer stay! Thank you Peta for all the effort you put into making this such a great place. From the fresh jams, eggs, bread and milk... More

We echo others' comments regarding all the extras provided in this cottage: we realised we could even have done some baking should we have wished! A few drawbacks though which it's worth mentioning: * the kitchen dates from the mid-1970s and apart from new worktops and vinyl flooring and a more modern cooker, it looks (and smells) a bit old... We stayed two nights in Landfall Cottage on Gunning in Richmond. It was a privilege to stay in a wonderful piece of history that also has all the mod cons. Beautifully maintained inside and out with everything (perhaps more!) that you would want from your own home. Generous and quality breakfast provisions including free range eggs, home made jams and... More
