My wife and I stayed here for almost a week last Sept/Oct. It was amazing. Everything we could have wished for for our honeymoon. Eli, Ixchel and the rest of the staff brought hospitality to the next level. We would love to come back some time, to visit an amazing place and to see these friendly people again. Gracias.

This was our second trip to Playa and it was awesome yet again! The personal feeling is great! Although the resort was full, you feel like there is no one there! If you are looking to party, this really isn't for you. Everything is shut down early. No TV's or phones in the room make it very relaxing!

When my sister told me we were going to be staying in a jungle hut at Playa Escondida I had no idea what to expect. But from the minute we arrived I knew this was going to be the adventure of a lifetime! The hotel staff was so warm and friendly, always going above and beyond to accommodate our (sometimes)...

It has been a great experience to have a few days at Playa Escondida, beggining by the fact that it really is a Playa Escondida (Hidden beach), you need follow exactly the instructions to get there but the personnel will help you. Once you are at the hotel, everything around is magic, an experience with the nature and environment that...

We just returned from an incredible 50th birthday vacation at Playa Escondida. If you are looking for somewhere to get away from it all and decompress and unplug, this is the place. The property is a beautiful boutique resort with beach and jungle bungalows. Everything about the resort is top notch, but the thing that really sets it apart is...

What a wonderful find! We only had two nights at Playa Escondida at the end of our trip but we fit a lot of relaxing into that short time. Every detail was planned to make you feel at home, relaxed and pampered. We loved our bungalow in the jungle, the staff was professional yet easy going, the grounds and pool...

This boutique hotel is on-point in every way, and as a road-weary business traveler, my standards are high. This said, don't expect marble, glass or frivolous sundries. What you will find is a tropical paradise expressly for couple of all ages and makes with thoughtfully appointed accommodations, fresh cuisine and easy access to the lovely town of Sayulita.

We appreciate your perceptive review, Lauren. "Couples of all ages" is a good characterization and I would add that they all feel like young couples here.

To find this place, head off the beaten path into the jungle. Take a left at lost. Follow no listed directions. And arrive at paradise. This completely secluded resort offers a total escape with private beach and extensive grounds to explore. We were greeted by our dedicated host Eli who became our one stop hospitality shop and was incredibly helpful...

I love your sense of humor, Larik. It's true, we aren't easy to find, but then we aren't for everybody, just those who want something out of the ordinary, a hidden paradise for those who seek it.

Beautiful hotel, with unique rooms, wonderful service, wonderful food--I can't say enough good things about it! We will definitely be returning. The 'nature' feel of the place is so relaxing and makes for a unique experience. Nice variety of menu options for each meal, and everything is reasonably priced.

Thanks, Emily. We are pleased that you enjoyed our menu. Not everyone realizes that our restaurant is designed to enhance your experience and is not a profit center. Next visit remind us that you have a dinner coming, on the house :-)

The staff is really welcoming, they sincerely want to get to know you, make sure you have a good stay and you relax. I only heard excellent comments around the pool and on the beach. Nice trek on the beach too and yoga class every morning very appreciated. Lots of people revisiting too. Very quiet, in the middle of the...

“The love nest has several coatimundi, lurking about all night & they will come in if you leave any food out. The cenzontle slept 4, but is pretty noisy during the night, a pump of some sort ran all night & traffic traveled often. It has a full kitchen 2 bathrooms & a futon on the lower level. It was fine for the one night we stayed in it. We also stayed in the villa 4, close to beach, the wonderful sound of waves lulled us to sleep. The best room we've stayed in was the Luna Penthouse.”

“If you are sensitive to sound I recommend you book one of the rooms up the hill or one of the bungalows.”

“OK, I have room tips now! For our first trip, we stayed in Bird Canyon, Calandria. This room was too much space for 2 people, unless you plan to cook in your room as it has a fully equipped kitchen. For our recent trip we stayed in Pasion on the beach and Golondrina back in Bird Canyon. The beach was nice, but the swells made the water very loud. The extra large balcony was great! 2 loungers are great for reading and lazing around! Golondrina is my fave of all the rooms we had! The hot tub is a really nice touch! My tips are if you like to sleep in, don't stay in Bird Canyon, the road is load, but we didn't care as we are up early! For peace and quiet, stay away from Bird Canyon.....The food is great at Playa, the staff are amazing, the grounds are beautiful! This is one of the nicest resorts you will find! ”

“Some rooms are quite a ways up from the beach and restaurant, but they provide golf carts so it's fun and doesn't matter!”
