This hotel was a wonderful surprise. We heard about it from our Rick Steves book, but Rick undersold it. It way exceeded our expectations. The rooms are big and well-equipped. Each has its own kitchen with dishes, etc. Each room also has its own balcony overlooking the pool and the beach. We loved sitting on our balcony and just enjoying the sites and sounds of Salema. We were literally a 30-second walk to the beach and all the restaurants in town. We thought it was very reasonably priced, too. And the pool was great. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, too.

What a beautiful, calm place to visit. This is a new, modern establishment with much to offer. We usually prefer more quaint surroundings when visiting old villages but we were sold on this delightful place. Our room (#1) was very comfortable with a large balcony to enjoy. You overlook the pool and gardens and the ocean is gleaming in the distance. They have cleverly hidden the kitchen facilities behind a screen that can be lowered to hide them. The innkeepers are very friendly and so helpful. We did the B & B option and each morning we were presented with a marvelous breakfast at a beautifully made up table just off the pool deck. What a way to start the day!

If you want a relaxed place to hang out for a few days this is it. The rooms are big with kitchenettes and great balconies with super ocean views. Clean and functional with nice bathrooms. Salema is very small so you are a minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. The woman who runs the place is great; could not be more helpful.

SEVEN months before our visit to Salema, we made reservations for two apartments for two couples via telephone followed by an email confirmation with Casa PraiaMar. Three weeks prior to our arrival, I emailed to re-confirm our reservation but was told no apartments were available. Although very apologetic with an offer to help with other arrangements, use of their pool and wi-fi, I lost confidence in Casa PraiaMar and got reservations elsewhere. EXTREMELY disappointing!!!!

We stayed 5 nights in mid-August. Our room, #3, had a nice balcony with table, chairs, umbrella, and room for clothes drying rack (large, provided). Nice view towards beach and great for eating takeout pizza or sipping wine. Room was a good size and had kitchenette. Hotel is fairly new (2 years old?) and modern. Bathroom was spacious. All was clean. (An upgrade to pillows, sheets and towels would be good.) beds were a bit firm/hard for our tastes. AC was very quiet and worked well.
We noticed some noise from other rooms (some loud unhappy children nearby and heavy footsteps in room above) during our stay but earplugs helped. Adding an area rug to the room would also help.
Hotel is very close to beach and town. Free parking provided in gated lot across from hotel. Owners/managers are very friendly and helpful, as was all staff (cleaning, etc.) The pool was clean and cool. Good amount of chairs around it. Nice for a quick nap!
Internet/wifi was very weak in room (unusable) but ok down at pool and in front office area. Hotel offers an affordable laundry service, which we used. They also offer free rental of sea kayaks, picked up at beach lifeguard station. Take an afternoon and paddle west along coastline to see rocky shoreline, some small caves, and a few more private beaches. Lovely.

Salema was the start of our week long self-guided walk. The town was perfect and this hotel was all we could hope for, great central location, spacious and clean room, balcony and seafront views, and good service. The provision of some catering facilities meant that you could provide your own breakfast as there was no restaurant.

Casa Praia Mar is one of most recent offers in Salema, a small village with a wide, clean and windy beach.
Praia Mar apartments are spacious and fully equipment.
Wifi is sluggish and is off most of the times but who cares when in holidays! Might some care, thus the note.
On the other hand cleaning is great, daily routine keeps everything clean and tidy.
On the upper side there is also the swimming pool, sunny until the sunset and protected from wind.

Wonderful place in such a beautiful town. Our room was perfect, spotless, nice kitchen to use. Cleaned every day, amazing service. Really comfortable beds. Nice pool, very quiet, so close to the beach. Very helpful staff.mwe would definitely go back....loved it!
