We arrived late at night and were greeted by the security man who quickly arranged our keys. On entering the apartment its a wow effect with massive space and beautiful furniture. The kichen is equiped with high end appliances inc eye level oven dish washer and coffee pod machine.
The living room and dining area are open plan with lots of space. We were given villa 41 with parking directly outside as one of us has limited mobility. The views from here are stunning and worth the upgrade cost. Down stairs are 2 large bedrooms one with jacuzzi and the other with a large walk in shower. Extremly comfortable beds and high quality linen.
The top terrace has table and chairs and the bottom one has sun beds. the cleaning in winter is twice weekly and probably the best we have ever had.
If you book direct with NAO you receive free entry tickets to local attractions.
I would like to make a special mention of João Rosado in reception what a lovely and helpful young man.
Thank you for a wonderful stay we will return.

Just returned from a week in SBV. Couldn't have asked for more from the complex. Two bed town house was equipped with everything you could need and was clean and in good repair. The team of cleaners came twice and the Reception team were patient, cheerful and so helpful with organising taxis and tours.
Salema itself was pretty quiet so not much to do if you don't have a car, but will be much busier in peak season. The walk back up the hill from the beach to the complex is pretty brutal but I'm not the fittest so...
Would definitely recommend for people who want a quiet and relaxing time.

We have just returned from a great 2 weeks in Salema beach villas. This was our 2nd stay (last in 2019) and if anything the service and surroundings are even better now. From Joao and his team at reception to Viktor at the pool bar, we were treated with 5 star service all through our stay. We stayed initially in a 2 bed villa before moving to a 3 bed when we were joined by another family member. Everything about the villas are 1st class. They are cleaned daily with new towels and bedsheets each day. They are so spacious with everything to make it feel like a home from home. The kids loved the pool and with other similar minded families, it felt very safe. The small town of Salema is beautiful with everything you would need with a lovely beach, small number of shops and great restaurants. It isn’t built up or commercialised and hopefully it stays this way. It’s not for people looking for nightlife. We hired a car to visit unspoilt beaches near by and one place was better than the next. This place is a hidden gem and we would highly recommend it to similar family orientated holiday makers who expect the best! Are already looking into rebooking for next year ..

We stayed end of May to beginning of June for a 2 week family holiday. Family of 5, children ranging from 4 to 15 years. Best self catering accommodation we have stayed in. Plenty of room and modern facilities. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa - with 4 outdoor areas, 3 toilets, 2 showers and jacuzzi bath. Salema beach is 500m downhill and is stunning. Beach is flat and clean, water calm with lots of fish. There are a number of restaurants in the small village but are good quality with lots of fresh fish on the menu. Staff at the village were always pleasant and went out of their way to be accommodating. The food in the pool bar is nice. We found prices to eat out were similar to the UK, therefore expect to pay around 40- 60 euros for lunch and around 80 to 160 euros for dinner with wine. We used the swimming pool a number of times but it was cold! Once you got into it, it was okay though. There are small tennis courts but you have to pay to use them. Two of our sons enjoy playing tennis, so we used these facilities and the youngest used the playground. All well maintained and clean. Overall if you are looking for good quality accommodation, friendly staff, quiet location (if you want to explore the Algarve, hire a car) and access to a stunning, non crowded beach, book the Salema Beach Village, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you to all staff members for making our holiday special, you are all a credit to the Village.

• Villas are spacious and very clean as others have mentioned albeit a little dated if you are used to brand new villas in say Greece. They are well spaced out, we could never hear neighbours and had a beautiful sea view. It was nice having the bedrooms all on one floor so we were near our children – sometimes in a three bed villa one bedroom is on another floor
• Reception open 24 hrs and very friendly/helpful
• Housekeeping service is to a very high standard. Basic cleaning items like a sponge and cloth are provided as well as useful small bottle of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and tea towel. Plus coffee pods were replenished every day.
• Swimming pool does not appear huge at first but we soon found out that it was easy enough to get sunbeds as families come and go during the day. The kids enjoyed the smaller pool for playing and the little slide and the main pool was big enough for games. To those who have complained about inflatables and not having enough room to swim I would say that we didn’t see any bad behaviour during our stay just families having fun. It’s very much a family type place
• Snack bar is friendly. Service can be a little slow but we didn’t mind. Cocktails decent quality and the family enjoyed the hot sandwiches/burgers/wedges and ice creams on office
• A good handful of restaurants in Salema. You probably need to book – we liked Atlantico, the sushi place, pizza for takeaway and Agua na Boca for a treat. We also enjoyed exploring places in Lagos, Sagres and Burgau
• Lots of great beaches nearby and the roads are easy to navigate. Not far to drive over to the west coast for surfing.
• Golf and tennis nearby at Santa Antonio
• Slide & Splash water park is a brilliant day out. Take an umbrella and a picnic and set up a spot for the day
• We loved the area and really recommend it for a holiday

It looks just as depicted in the photos; very clean, modern and spacious villas with well tended gardens. Lovely pool (salt water) albeit very cold, however, it was early April!
The staff were very attentive, they sorted out an issue with our agent without fuss. Very good service at the pool cafe too. Daily maid service which was welcomed.
Easy walk down to the beach where the restaurants are. Uphill on the way back! Small supermarket half way down. The villa is well stocked with utensils but the ‘cleaning pack’ available from Reception was expensive at €5 for a few capsules, sponge and washing up liquid.
It was pretty windy, especially around the pool, and the villa would have benefitted from patio furniture on both balconies and more than 2 sun loungers for a villa that sleeps 8.
Other than that, it was a really lovely place and we’d definitely recommend it.

We loved our stay at Salema Beach Village! After searching long and hard for a family friendly resort in the Algarve, we settled on this place and have no regrets. The location is up on the hillside and offers stunning views down over Salema and the surrounding cliffs and sea. We paid a bit extra for a townhouse with a seaside view and it was well worth it. Our townhouse was very spacious, modern and clean. Our only “complaint” is it didn’t offer much character, but alas you usually can’t have it all and this can be expected with a modern build. The communal pool area is relatively small by modern resort standards, but we felt this was actually perfect as our 3.5 year old son loved the space and it wasn’t too big for him. The kiddie pool and elephant slide were favourites. The pool bar offered the essential drinks and food you’d want and the prices were reasonable. The pool area was overall an intimate and relaxing space, nice compliment to spending time at the beach or somewhere to drop in after a day out sightseeing.
When we checked in we were given the option to request extra children’s items (free of charge). The bed guard, eating utensils, toilet seat and toys were very handy. Our son spent hours playing with the toys which comprised a decent selection of cars/trucks and animal figurines. The resort is quite modern, well maintained, and the staff friendly and helpful. They even offer a free buggy service to shuttle you up and down the hill to the town centre/beach, which is only about a 15min walk away. There you will find a decent selection of restaurants and bars (mostly higher quality type places with plenty of fresh seafood on offer) and of course the scenic beach nestled below the cliffs. Salema definitely isn’t a party place, ideal for families, laid back holiday makers and hikers who pass through on the coastal trail network (definitely worth checking out the Fisherman’s trail even if just for a couple of hours jaunt to check out the stunning views).
The combination of good location, facilities, staff, value for money and family friendly amenities made this one of our most memorable family holidays to date. We will treasure our time spent there!

+1
Just back for a week with 4 teenagers.
The resort is better suited for families with younger children as Salema is very quiet in comparison to many resorts.
However, the resort and staff all deserve 5 stars.
The pool bar serves good food but at times offered a slow service. Smoothies are 5.50 euros and offers burgers, salads, toasties and pizzas up to 7pm.
The resort is at the top of a VERY steep
Hill - don’t underestimate this hill and make sure you have reception telephone number as they will take you down and collect you up to midnight which is priceless!
For those who like walking / jogging ask for the ‘fisherman trail’ there’s a track on the right hand side of the hill which leads to a good coastal track, rough terrain, for miles.
Salema has 2 bars and roughly a dozen restaurants so pre book restaurants!
We did the caves and speed boat trip which is recommended and the teens enjoyed paddle racket and paddle boarding on the beach.
We had a 3 bed Villa which was spacious and cleaned every day - not deep cleaned, just beds made, fresh towels which was suffice.

Spacious, quality fixtures, fittings and furnishings, and excellent service.
Room cleaned daily, sheets and towels changed every few days, pool/beach towels free (and changed on demand).
Lovely touch providing the golf buggy transfers up and down the hill to the beach/village centre on demand (that hill is steep!).
The pool area is clean, though very busy with families, so we preferred going to the beach.
Lovely location with the west coast beaches only a 20 minute drive away - offering a completely different vibe to Salema's peaceful beach. Huge waves and surf shacks, which was a highlight for our older teenagers.

Had a very pleasant stay here. Houses are impeccably clean and well appointed. Two bedroom house was very spacious for us and our two kids (7 and 8).
Electric buggy service down to the beach (and back) on demand which is great. Only a five minute walk but very steep.
Lovely pool area with nice international family atmosphere. enough loungers but possibly not enough parasols. Pool is unheated so cool until you get used to it.
Staff all charming. It’s a very chilled out relaxed place near a lovely beach. Not a place for lively nightlife, though there is a choice of good restaurants.
Only issue for us was that that the pool bar/cafe wasn’t open a bit later (closes at 7).
We hired a car - location could be a bit restrictive without one but we met some families who were happy just getting taxis etc. There are some very small shops in the village but the closest decent supermarket is 5 minutes drive away. 1h10 or so mostly along motorway to Faro airport. 25 minutes to Lagos.
We had a house at the top of the hill which was quite exposed to the wind. Those further down the hill would be less exposed and many have fabulous sea views. I’d pay extra for one of those next time.
