I really have been torn about reviewing this place and the villas here. I have been looking for the perfect family beach in Mexico and finally found it. I have found some amazing Mexican beaches in remote locations, but there always seemed to be one issue with all of them. Coming from a family with two young kids, every beach...

In late April 2014 we spent our honeymoon at a place my husband found online. It was the most magical 8 nights in paradise. Much to our fortune he had stumbled across Playa las Tortugas. We rented Casa dos Hermanos, a beautiful home in the center of the resort. Thank you to the owner Eli for the use of your...

We visited Playa Los Tortugas on a recent trip to Mexico. We did not stay at any of properties, but visited them on a day trip. I was hoping to find a place with beginning surf waves that was less insane than Sayulita, as we were staying in Guyabitos. We visited the area based on the sparse reviews here, on...

Thanks for the great review @Hthelady! We're thrilled you stumbled upon us. We're an off-the-beaten-path that few have discovered. Tell your friends! (but just your best ones ;-) If you're looking for a similar swell to Sayulita's, but one without the crowds, you're right that our beach/river mouth break is a good alternative. It'll occasionally get blown out from wind,...

Stayed at the Del Mar property at Play Las Tortugas with family in mid August. The only problem with the house was although all four bedrooms had air-conditioning, the kitchen and main room where we all gathered each evening did not have air conditioning. Being there in mid August made those areas very uncomfortable to say the least. I suppose...

Where to start? How to describe perfection? Perhaps this best sums it up: we loved this place so much my wife and I decided to get married here. Playa Las Tortugas is a secluded paradise with beautiful villas (some with private pools, others with rooftop or beachfront palapas), perfectly manicured grounds with beautiful and diverse flora, and truly the best...

Finding this hidden Gem on Tripadvisor/ VRBO has lead to the best family vacation that I have ever experienced!! Casa Dos Hermanos gets a 9.75 out of 10. Booking was simple through Eli (owner) and he promptly answered all questions. If you want a completely quite, relaxing beautiful vacation to enjoy your family and the perfect setting, this is the...

My family and I stayed twice at Casa Maria. The house is big, comfortable, and extremely well kept. Air conditioning in the rooms, which is a necessity in the Summer. The owners, Lee and Robert, are the nicest people you'll ever meet. Playa Las Tortugas is a small group of houses, in a paradise setting, some 30 minutes away by...

18 km of sandy, lonely beach; egg-laying turtles; kayaking; a bird sanctuary; surfing; swimming; beautiful, secluded villas; friendly, helpful staff; great food; and a quiet Mexican village a short hike away.....what's not to like about this place? My wife and I and our good friends spent Spring Break 2014 at Casa Maria, a very clean, very quiet, very tasteful home...

My wife and I stayed at Casa Maria for a month. Time seemed to slow right down. We had plans to do so much, and even with a month we didn't get it all done. Such a tranquil place, the grounds were beautiful, well maintained, and the beach was absolutely amazing. We walked the beach one day for an hour...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Playas Las Tortugas is an enclave of approximately 14 stylish homes that are individually owned and most are rented when the owner is not in residence. They are set in a working coconut plantation and feature all modern conveniences. They are located between the Pacific Ocean on the West, a bird filled fresh water estuary on the North, and the coconut plantation provides seclusion from the rest of the planet - a place to relax and commune with nature - away from the world's tourists!Rental options vary from a pair of roomy duplexes to multi-bedroom villas. Maid service is provided daily and our gardeners tend the grounds six days per week. Meal preparation is optional. All homes have air-conditioned bedrooms. Groups of homes can be rented for use by groups such as yoga clubs, business groups, and wedding parties. The palm lined beach extends for more than five miles and there are no other dwellings within miles of the beach. The large community pool is centrally located and comfortable. Some beach front villas have private pools/jacuzzi. Kayak rentals are available from the on-site Property Manager. Free WiFi is provided.Guests enjoy surfing, swimming, hiking, fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, relaxing, and massage. The Playa Las Tortugas property manager arranges any excursions desired, airport transportation, and the like. Small Mexican villages are frequently visited for day trips - especially on market days. These small farm towns have some signature Mexican restaurants and the six oceanfront restaurants at Platinitos can be reached in 20 minutes by kayaking across the estuary. ... more   less
