Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful, but other than that, the hotel was kind of a dump. I was looking forward to spending a little time in the pool shown in the website, but it was empty. Loud bass music kept me up one night. The room also smelled vaguely of marijuana deals previously must have occurred here. The place served it's purpose, and if there was literally nowhere else to stay, I could stomach another night, but that isn't really what one looks for in a hotel.

Was quoted one price coming into town but then when i got there it was higher. Second doorkey didnt work. Rented from them because they supposedly had a reduced rate for people having medical procedures from out of town. Rate wasnt lowered, and even though i explained to her that i was having surgery the following morning i was given a room UPSTAIRS >>!! And by NO MEANS was the place fully booked.Nice try telling me that

Not worth $75 a night. Friendly desk clerk but slow check in, fast secure wifi, tube TV with basic cable, about what I expected for an old budget hotel but still overpriced. Mini frig a little small. Bed soft. No other major complaints. I don't know what they normally charge but wouldn't stay here again at the price I paid during a slower weekend. It's supply and demand during Mizzou game weekends.A better hotel would have also been overpriced.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and comments. We do apologize if you experienced any inconvenience besides the rate you were charged. Like every other business when rooms are in premium demand the rate does rise somewhat. We try our best to keep our rates reasonable, especially during busy times. We certainly hope that you will give us another opportunity to be your host, especially on a normal visit, so that we can extend our usual hospitality. Thank you again.

Although I am used to staying at 5 star hotels, I gave the travelodge a try for a 2 night stay. I booked the room over the internet for a good price. Upon arrival, I was promptly checked into a non-smoking double room as requested. The room was a standard motel type. The bathroom was small but well kept. The showers had good water pressure. The towels were clean and fluffy. There was cable TV, a complimentary coffee pot and a hair dryer --all in good working order. The mattresses were clean, hard but not sagging. The box springs however were stained and old and the drapes were worn. No sheers were on the windows, for when you want to let light in but still have a little privacy. I would call this a good budget motel if you do indeed book it for a reasonable price. The day I checked in was a tournament weekend and I overheard customers being quoted a much higher price because avaibility was getting scarce.

This place is a dump. I never leave reviews, but this one is worth leaving. I couldn't even get a partial refund. Once they take your money they won't give it back. If you do stay here look at your room before paying.

Dear Guest, We are unaware of your situation as your stay occured during the month of August when this hotel was a Travelodge and the Guest Services manager was not the same. The ownership has converted this hotel to a Budget Host Inn and there have been changes in management. Hence we do apologize that we are unable to verify your concerns at this time and hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you under better circumstances. Thank you, management

We checked in our room this evening to find mice droppings in both beds. Upon further investigation we saw numerous mice thoughout the room. Management offered to find another room, which due to the football game in town we thought was our only option. Upon further reflection we asked for our money to be refunded as we were uncomfortable with the conditions. Not only did the front desk refuse to refund our money they refused to call management to discuss. They claimed there was nothing they could do because the room was reserved through travelocity, however, there was no attempt at all to solve the problem. Furthermore, because we mentioned the word rat move in the hotel they threatened to call the police.

This is the worst example of customer service I've ever encountered. We have contacted corporate to help rectify this situation but it has yet to be resolved. Hotel Management told us they would not refund our money because the new building did not have a history of rat problems, but at the same time admitted they had a history of rat problems in the building which they first booked us. Be very careful.

We had a lot of issues with this guest and had to call law and security to facilitate their departure from the property. The guest was in the lobby and verbally abused the staff and made other guests nervous and apprehensive. We have sent responses through Travelodge corporate and others and do not wish to send a public respond again. Thank you, Management

I decided to stay at Travelodge while on business because of the road sign. Service was excellent- Tonya was especially helpful. In my opinion, my room, and the property were well above average. Excellent value for the price I paid.

We booked this hotel for two different weeks to attend a conference and were told it was a very nice hotel. NOT TRUE!!!
When we arrived and pulled up to the room, you could see that the curtains were filthy and had
stains on them from the condensation on the window. When opening the door...the smell was horrible! Moldy and the carpets were filthy!
We canceled immediately, had our money reimburse and will NEVER think of returning or suggesting this place to anyone!
NASTY...DIRTY...SKANKY...good place for hookers and drug dealers!

I made a reservation to stay at this hotel at the end of June/beginning of July with the understanding that there were "no restrictions" regarding change or cancellation. Well to my surprise, this was NOT the case. When the time came and people in my group began cancelling and changing travel plans, I called the hotel to make changes accordingly. 3 staff members had assured me that this would not be a problem - 1) the person that took the reservation, 2) a staff member last night, 3) a staff member this morning. When I called back later in the day...WHAMMO!!! "Sir, you are required to pay a 2 night minimum." WHAT!?!?!?! I never would have reserved a room. I requested to speak to management to straighten this out, but they were unavailable. I got a call back from the hotel and was told that they had spoken with management and that I was required to pay a 2 night minimum. Very disappointed that management would not stand behind their staff. Then I read the previous reviews that were not available when I booked and was lucky enough to find other accommodations and cancel before the 72 hr deadline.

We sincerely apologize for any miscommunication. We did have a 2 nite stay requirement for that weekend and once again apologize for the misinformation. Cancellations were accepted 72 hours in advance. We regret that you had cancel the rooms and we lost an opportunity to extend our hospitality, which is always our intent. We will certainly be cautious in the future regarding the information that is given to our guests.

Stayed at the Travel Lodge for 3 nights while in town for a sporting event. The rooms were low quality at best. Our room had an overall dirty feeling to it. The bedding was thin and old, and did not fit the bed very well. Our room also did not have a microwave or a mini-fridge like they were supposed to, our tv remote had the batteries removed, and the shower was disgusting. The ceiling material was falling off from water damage, and the shower itself was stained and dirty. The shower head was a single-setting fine-mist type of head which ran hot and cold. The towels were thin and on almost every one there were hairs from previous occupants.
Not to question any of the opinions of others reviewing this hotel, both those who gave it a positive review must have had MUCH better accomodations than we had. If I were in Columbia on my own and had a choice of hotels to stay at, Travel Lodge would be near the bottom of my list.

There are certain rooms that have microwave/ refrigerators and are assigned upon request. At this time it is difficult to answer why they did not receive a microwave/ refrigerator. The entire hotel has new shower heads, new curtain, an curved curtain rods installed. All the damaged ceilings from winter closure have been repaired during the spring and summer.
