Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are a non-smoker, and cannot stand the smell of cigarette smoke, be sure to ask to stay in a room that has always been designated "non-smoking." Although the hotel has been cleaned, painted and has new carpet, our room smelled AWFUL . The HVAC unit needs to be replaced as it made the whole room smell like an ashtray. If they cannot give you a smoke-free room, stay somewhere else.

Breakfast was adequate. The room I booked was advertised to sleep 4 but only slept 2. We were given extra pillows and blankets but still had to have people sleep on the cold, hard floor and I was charged an extra $6.70. The pool was frigid, the hot tub warm at best. Room was clean, though.

The hotel room was clean and tidy. We could hear traffic at night, so it was a little disruptive for a good night sleep. The bed only had a sheet and a thin comforter, so we did put an extra blanket on at night. We prefer not to have the room too warm so we didn't turn up the heat. We didn't stay for breakfast. It appeared that the only warm breakfast was waffles and instant oatmeal that you could make. The price was reasonable.

The only way to change the temperature in guest rooms is to call the front desk and have a staff member come to the room to change it for you. I have not encountered this regulation before in all my years of travel. Every other hotel/motel that I have stayed in allowed guests to set the room temperature. We were not told this at check-in and when my husband could not adjust the temperature when he woke up cold at 2:30am, he had to put his clothing on over his pjs and put on socks to get warm enough to fall back to sleep.

There were no cups or glasses in the rooms and when I let the staff know at check-out, thinking it was a mistake, I was told that guests needed to get cups from the breakfast room. This would have been very helpful to know at check-in.

The main option at breakfast was waffles. At the time we were having breakfast (6:30 am) there were 10 people in line and not enough time for us to all cook a waffle so we could get on the road for a very long day of travel The tables were all sticky with no staff checking for cleanliness as guests were leaving the table and nothing available for guests to clean their own tables.

On the positive side, the beds were comfortable.

Didn't clean my room for the entire stay of 6 days when it stated it should be done daily. asked for towels and the desk clerk got rude with me and I was told I would have to bring them to her myself.
2nd day I was there a guy was blocking the lobby door afraid that someone was going to come to shoot him and he wasn't even a guest there. People who weren't guest allowed to come in and use the pool like it was public. Probably the desk clerks family and friends. Breakfast was supposed to be served between 6-9 and was not able to eat at all. I will never stay here again.

As we entered the hotel to stay, the front desk staff were dressed very unprofessionally. The gentleman helping me had a "Beer Hunter" hat on with a stained, ill-iftting shirt and sweatpants. In my room the floors were less than clean with stains and sticky stuff left on them between the beds. The room and air conditioner smelled very musty. The toilet paper that was in my room was growing mold and the shower curtain were missing. The staff did replace both the paper and curtain promptly. The breakfast was less than fantastic with the only options being toast, cereal or waffles. The waffles had an off putting flavor to them. The pool area was clean, but the outside door was left open so that people could come and go without a key.

Parking lot had people living in their cars. Couches with no cushions sitting outside by front door. Pool area/windows beside lobby were destroyed- shredded/old insulation was visible from outside building. Lobby was dirty and had signed that said closed until 10pm. Double plastic separator at check in that you had to slip your card under- super ghetto. Very rude front desk. Dirty, dirty, dirty. A haven for what seemed to be homeless people living outside and drug exchanges. Refused refund because I “cussed”. Single 45 yo disabled female refused service, refused the room I paid for, refused refund. I willingly left and rented at another hotel. This place is scary- don’t stay here! I stay all over the US with a service animal. This is one of the WORST $80 rooms (plus a $40 pet fee) I have ever been to. This place misrepresented itself as a family hotel but it is not!

While thankfully my experience wasn’t as bad as some of the other reviewers, I wish I would’ve taken the time to read the reviews before I stayed here.

I had a long drive the day before and was running a bit late (10-15 minutes by the time I left) leaving to checkout. Around 11:05, while I was quickly finishing my shower, I heard loud banging and yelling at my door. By the time I got my towel on to check what was going on they had already walked off. Whoever the man working there was must have heard my door open and immediately walked back over to start banging on the door and trying to open it again. I opened the door and explained I was sorry for running late and just needed to get dressed. Thankfully they left me alone for the next few minutes it took me to leave. As a young woman traveling alone, employees aggressively trying to enter my hotel room is not an experience I enjoy, even if I’m in the wrong for running a couple minutes late. The response seemed extreme in my opinion considering I was only 5 minutes late when the banging and attempting to enter the room started.

In addition to that, cleanliness was an issue. The cover for the bed clearly hadn’t been washed in awhile and had what looked like food crusted on it. Pretty much all surfaces looked like they hadn’t been cleaned. My non-smoking room had cigarette burn marks on the counter. I also was concerned about safety since I heard nearby gunshots when I pulled up to the hotel.

I decided not to bring any of these issues up to the front desk because I had read google reviews the night I arrived and noticed the owner/manager being incredibly rude in their responses to people’s reviews. It seems that people were having issues with them being rude in person as well.

I made reservations 2-3 days before my trip. Asked for a bottom floor room near the pool, as I wanted to swim after an 11 hour drive. Upon arrival I find the pool has been closed for quite some time. While checking in the clerk took a personal call on her cell phone. No idea what she was saying as she was speaking a foreign language. I told the guy behind me I thought that was rather rude. The pictures on their website shows they have a waffle maker and other amenities, but come morning all they offered was a muffin and a granola bar. Very disappointing stay.

Unfortunately you get what you pay for! We are traveling with pets so there only a few hotels to choose from. I would leave no or minus stars if I could. The staff is unprofessional! They were never able to make the room key cards work, the room/ bathroom was simply dirty ! The floor was black and sticky, the fridge was definitely not cleaned!
