Staybridge Suites in Columbia is a wonderful place to stay. We feel like family here! Lisa is the hardest working woman that I know!!! O'Shea, Heather, Taren - everyone that we have met has been phenomenal and gone above and beyond what is expected to ensure that the guests are happy and have what is needed, all while having a great attitude. In fact, we witnessed an extremely rude customer that came into the hotel this past weekend and O'Shea handled her in a professional manner, given the potentially volatile situation. He ensured that the guests felt safe by having her removed and we all applauded his efforts in diffusing the situation after she was asked to leave the premises. I will always choose this hotel for any stay in Columbia. Thank you to the staff for making this place feel like home for those of us that work away from home most of the year!

We came for a baseball tournament in Columbia. The room had plenty of space for the kids to spread out and "hang" out. We liked how the shower and bathroom were away from the bedroom and the bathroom sink outside of the closed bathroom door. They served awesome breakfast and the ladies working the breakfast went above and beyond making extras and requests from their guests. The staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. It may be a little dated, but it was clean and we felt safe! The AC worked great and there was free guest laundry which was an extra perk!

This was a wonderful place to stay. I was impressed with the kitchenette especially. A 2burner stove top, nice sized fridge, dishwasher and even a supply of dishes, cookware eating and cooking utensils. The shower was double sized and equipped with soap, shampoo and conditioner dispenser on the wall. The bed was very comfortable and had a nice surround sofa as well. The boy Breakfast was pretty good as well I definitely would stay here again.

The room smelled like body odor, the sink was clogged, there was a strong scent of a cologne left in there. Our towels were dirty we had to go downstairs and get some. They had left the previous person face towel used underneath the towels in the bathroom. We had to ask them for clean towels, toilet paper and ask to unclog the sink! If they had cleaned the room they would have known the sink was clogged. There was mold and falling baseboards. They said they were booked and could not offer a clean room. Shameless!

As a whole, I found this to be quite a good hotel, there were a few issues but I’ll outline those.
Location/Price/Common Areas: Excellent location, competitive price for the area (less than the similarly nice Residence, which I’ve stayed at before), and plenty of well kept common areas, halls, things to do, etc, though just one elevator became a bit crowded at times. I will however note that the free breakfast was considerably better than most IHG hotels I’ve been to.
The Room: I had a one bedroom suite, which was recently redone with a nice kitchen, living room, and bedroom. All of the furniture was in good shape and the bed was quite comfortable. The HVAC worked well, but there were exactly two problems I found during my stay. One was that the carpet was quite dirty and probably should’ve been better cleaned during the renovation, but was as clean as housekeeping could’ve got i. The second was that some of the dishes could’ve cleaner, which was the only major strike. I saved the bathroom for last as it was flawless with a very nice shower enclosure.
One Slight Annoyance: Upon check in, my room smelled like smoke, but they moved me right away, apologized, and made it right, so since they handled the issue so well, it puts a good light on the hotel in my book. Speaking of which, all of the staff here (specifically a guy working the night of 7/7 whose name I can’t remember) were absolutely fantastic. With that being said, there is some room for improvement, but I’d still definitely recommend this hotel.

Thank you for staying with us at the Staybridge Suites and taking time to share your experience. We appreciate hearing that overall your visit was a positive one and that our service, accommodations, and complimentary breakfast were great! We also serve a complimentary social dinner Monday-Wednesday evenings with beer, wine, and soft drinks for your future stays in the area. I apologize for the original room's smoke smell; it is very frustrating when guests violate our nonsmoking policy and have complete disregard for rules. We have to take the room off line for days and deep clean every item in the room, ionize it, and sometimes paint it. As we check the room each day for progress, it can be hard to tell when the smell is completely gone or does it need another treatment when you have been in a room a lot of times. This room clearly needed additional cleaning again, and we will have that done immediately as well as shampooing the carpet in the room in which you stayed. If I could give 0 stars for this particular Staybridge I would. I have stayed at other Staybridge hotels in other states and it was a great experience. I TRIED to stay at the Staybridge in Columbia, Missouri on April 22nd for a one night stay to visit my son who attends college nearby. I showed up at the hotel around 5:30pm on Saturday, April 22nd. The staff cancelled my reservation and I never received an email notification or a phone call about this. When I showed up after a long drive the person behind the desk was completely hostile and said that I never showed up so they cancelled the reservation. I had email confirmation but that did not matter. Apparently it was easier for this employee to blame the customer rather than to apologize for any mix-up and the fact that a staff member at the hotel had cancelled a reservation. I asked if there were other rooms available and he indignantly said "no". I was really trying to understand how my reservation was cancelled and could not get an answer from this front desk employee. I said, "I need your help" and he replied, "I don't need to help you with anything." I have never been so insulted or spoken to so rudely by a customer-facing employee. I tried to sit in the lobby to call my husband and let him know that I had nowhere to stay as it was a holiday weekend for the college and most hotels had rooms booked. I guess because I was upset this particular employee couldn't handle it and loudly ordered me to leave "his hotel". I could tell that other guests in the lobby were embarrassed for me because his behavior was so vile. This particular staff member should not have a job working with people. PERIOD.

My daughter visited Columbia a few weeks ago and when she and I came back in May she wanted to stay at Staybridge Suites on Keene because she said she felt comfortable there and the people were very nice. She was right! Angela, Chris and Erika were all so friendly and made us feel welcome and right at home from the minute we walked in the lobby! They are awesome :) The rooms were very nice and we were able to get the room cool enough for us at night and that is often a challenge. An added bonus is that breakfast was great. This is our go to spot in Columbia due in large part to the people that work there.

We've stayed here several times before in a one bedroom/one bath suite. This time there was an option available to reserve a two bedroom/two bath suite for a bit more money. We decided to give it a try. The two bedroom/two bath suite is more spacious than the one bedroom/one bath suite. The living room is much larger. One of the bathrooms is roomier than the cramped bathroom in the one bathroom/one bath suite. Kitchen area is mostly adequately furnished with food preparation items, except for no can opener or bottle opener. The buffet breakfast is adequate, somewhat limited choices for vegetarians. No skim milk available for cereal. Washer/dryer were free, but the cycle times posted on the laundry room door were gross underestimates of the actual time for the washer cycle, in particular. The sign on the door said 20 minutes for the washer; the actual time was over an hour. The sign on the door said 30 minutes for the dryer; to get items like denim jeans to be reasonably dry, the time was more like an hour. I wound up transferring some clothes to a different washer because the first one I was trying to use (the one in the middle) appeared to be malfunctioning, making loud noises, not responding to changes I made in the controls, etc. It's time for all of the laundry room equipment to receive some inspection and maintenance, with repairs/replacement as necessary. The time estimates on the laundry room door need to be updated. Grocery store is a short walk away.

At over 1060 square feet, it is one of our top room choices with two bathrooms, a huge kitchen, fireplace, and three TVs! One of the many wonderful amenities we offer guests is complimentary laundry facilities during their stay. Hotel was noisy, could hear other people’s door slamming. We had a one bedroom suite but the door to the bedroom was a two part thing that did not close completely so did not block much sound. No door between the bathroom sink and bed. Shower only lukewarm. Kitchen stocked with only decaf coffee and no sugar or creamer. Bed cover was duvet only so there was a choice of heavy cover or none.

They start full breakfast at 630am, however they are known to start a good portion of it around 430-5am as I’ve visited many times. Like waffles, fruit, cereal, bagels, juice and coffee but the bacon eggs and such come on at 630 on the dot.

We are a pet friendly hotel! We do require a non-refundable pet deposit of $50. All of our rooms have full-size refrigerators with ice-makers! All of our rooms, with the exception of our King Whirlpool Suites, also have a 2-burner stove top as well as a dishwasher. We also provide pots, pans, plates, silverware and glasses in our rooms too! Our facility just finished it's renovation earlier this year, so the pictures posted online may not reflect how nice our rooms actually are now!
