The Drury Plaza Hotel Columbia East has garnered praise for its ample amenities, like the complimentary meals and a pet-friendly approach, alongside the comfort of its rooms. The hotel's strategic location earns plaudits for its convenience and proximity to shopping and Columbia University.
While the accommodations are generally celebrated for their spaciousness and cleanliness, a few guests have noted occasional issues with air conditioning. The property is well maintained and clean. The room was quiet, I heard no noise from the hallways or other rooms at night. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. I would definitely stay here again! There were complementary breakfast, snacks, and dinner offerings for hotel guests. I only took advantage of the breakfast and was happy that there was freshly cooked oatmeal instead of those cheap, sugary instant packets.

Don't like to gush about a hotel stay, but I literally cannot find anything bad to say about our stay at this hotel. From the moment walking in were greeted by friendly staff. The place was immaculately clean, and the lobby spacious and inviting. Check in was a breeze and our room was as the lobby impeccably clean and tidy. The staff had even written a card with their signature, that they had cleaned the room, a very nice touch that personalized things a little bit, especially since later in our stay we met our maid staff member and were able to use their actual name, and thanked them. Bathroom in the room was well stocked with products and the shower was big and spacious, with plenty of hot water with great pressure. At 5:30 pm we were told there was a "kickback" in the dining area with complimentary adult beverages and food. Thinking it was just snacks was a mistake, there was Alfredo pasta, grilled chicken, and a pretty large spread of other vegetables, salads, etc. Friendly staff were ready to help with all the fixins. The hotel had a well stocked exercise room, and a very inviting pool that was half in and half out of the hotel, fun for kids. After a nice sleep in a very comfortable bed, breakfast was waiting, and started early, eggs sausage, pancakes and a lot more. Eggs and pancakes appeared to be freshly made, not microwave or boil in bag you see at other hotels. Breakfast staff were incredibly friendly and were like a team you would see at an attraction resort, seemed to be well rehearsed and ready to make you welcome. Centrally located and near restaurants and other amenities was also easy to get off the highway and find. Also, very reasonably priced, especially for all you get. As I said before it would be incredibly difficult to say anything bad about this hotel, and in a current environment where customer service seems to be at a loss at other places, I just wish all chain hotels were the same as this one.

We stayed here during a game weekend so it was exceptionally expensive and busy. (Check the Mizzou football calendar!) but this was a nice contrast to a Drury property we visited in Evansville, Indiana. This one was welcoming, the accommodations were modern and clean and we appreciated the lounge serving food and drinks to guests during our stay in the evening. Quiet place surrounded by other hotels. Nice stay.

The property itself is fine but it’s mid July in middle Missouri and the air conditioning is broken. I’ve been here two days and all the thermostats (in room and hallways) are blinking because the ac is broken. No air coming from the vents anywhere. Zero acknowledgement of this by the hotel. It’s now 81 degrees and humid in my room in the morning and I have to get ready for meetings. Unacceptable. Also, there is a serious breakfast nazi working the breakfast Buffett. She walks around yelling at everyone about not reaching into the chaffing pans and where to put dirty dishes, etc - all of her rules - on repeat. Occasionally she tries to validate this yelling by saying she just wants us to feel welcome. That’s the last thing we feel. It’s early, stop yelling at people. I also ordered a deluxe room and at Drury those come with a full couch and it’s a much larger room. They put me in a standard room and did not acknowledge that. I’m a request business traveler and I can tell you these are all signs of a poorly run hotel. Shame because it could be easily be great.

Couldn't even stay here. First the building is under such a negative pressure my ears popped no less than 30 times. We are sensitive to mold and we were ill for several hours after being inside for 15 minutes. If you are a sensitive illness/Mast Cell issues type person, please avoid this hotel. Also note this hotel has centralized air so that could also be the root of issues and not mold in walls however it makes little difference to those who are sensitive. We very much appreciate the fact that staff refunded us no questions asked. They were very kind about the situation. The hotel did appear clean except for dust build up on ceilings around registers, again indicating possible HVAC issue.

Great hotel; friendly and helpful staff. Many things included for guests; popcorn station, drinks and dinner and breakfast. A drink station is always available for coffee, tea, soft drinks and water. Guests must use their room key to enter lobby after certain hours, which is a nice added security. Close to many things in Como and easy to get to the University. Will definitely stay here again!

We visited for a weekend to meet with a family member. The front desk staff was friendly and courteous. The lobby decor was modern and attractive. We booked a king room, which was about average sized, not spacious but not constricted. It was very clean. Not sure about specific Covid precautions that were taken in the guest room but a note said “ sanitized”. The hotel generously provides a hot breakfast and eve meal as well as unlimited nonalcoholic beverages and 3 alcoholic drinks per adult per day. BUT: the hotel was fully booked and there were many families with children of various ages who were playing in tournaments. The kids spilled out into the public areas where they played games and had fun—without masks. The noise level was so high that communication with hotel staff was difficult. Their parents and or other adult groups also gathered in those areas without masking or distancing. It all seemed pre-pandemic which was nice in one sense but quite concerning in another. The heavy hotel booking did seem to affect services. We requested fresh towels three times before we received them, and then, brought them to the room ourselves after they were provided by the front desk. In sum, if boisterous and crowded atmosphere makes you uncomfortable, you may wish to avoid weekends during tournament season. Like everyone else we are experiencing pandemic fatigue, but we are not ready to let our guard down in the ways that we observed during our recent hotel weekend stay.

Drury knocked it out of the park again. From the friendly staff, kickback food, popcorn, breakfast, comfortable beds, good shower pressure, well lit area for dogs, and a safe parking lot. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and great attitudes. We opted for the queen suite, and we were not disappointed. There is plenty of room to rest, watch TV (two of them), relax on the comfy sofa, or take a hot shower. We enjoy all the little extra luxuries Drury has to offer. Kickback food had something for everyone. The vegetable soup was delicious and filled with vegetables and pasta. (Vegetarian) The nacho chips were crisp, the cheese warm, and the salsa delicious. (V) There was salad mix (V), dressings, mashed potatoes (V), crisp steamed vegetables (V), meatballs, hot dogs, buns, and toppings. Something for everyone. The bartender was very kind and made my drinks without alcohol, but still tasty. Breakfast was also available in the morning. That included eggs(scrambled and hard-boiled), pancakes, waffles, biscuits, gravy, oatmeal plus toppings, cereals (4 kinds), muffins, bread (3 kinds), (V) milk, coffee, and juice (3 kinds). Clean dining room area and helpful staff. The pool was indoor/outdoor, separated by a pull-down door. The water was a little cool, but if you kept moving, you warmed up. I didn't use the hot tub, but it looked very popular.

The best staff and amenities!!! We got caught in the blizzard in January 2025 and the people and hotel were a blessing!!! The breakfast and supper were amazing!!! The hotel put up their employees during the weather along with their family and pets!!! You could tell they enjoyed their jobs. I would have much rather been home stranded but I am glad we chose this place!!!

We stayed at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Columbia, MO, last weekend and were very impressed with how clean the hotel was and the fact that all employees wore masks and followed COVID safety precautions. Both the kickback service and the breakfast service, although a buffet, provided plastic gloves to handle the service spoons and hand sanitizer. We would definitely stay there again!
