Excellent location and facilities, however this place is let down by the tired and dirty state of the accommodation. We stayed in two units at the location. Both were in need of proper cleaning and maintenance. I understand that places can be old and I am happy to stay in an old place as long as it is clean and in reasonablecondition. This was neither.
Considering the price of this accommodation I honestly expected a lot better. Upon entering the accommodation I was instantly hit by a smell of dirty and old cooking oil. The kitchen had cooking oil splatter, food and general dirt, while the bathrooms were dirty and had visible mould throughout. The properties had ruined carpets, stained dirty bed linen, sliding doors that would not shut, blinds and curtains that need a wash or replacement, dirty drains, walls and missing cupboard doors. General damage to the apartments was pretty bad with broken doors and other issues like household rubbish left in buckets in the parking space under the apartment - to name a few problems.
The only saving grace of this accommodation is the excellent location and on sites facilities like the pool and barbecue hut.
I have stayed in caravan parks with 50 year old cabins that are cleaner and better appointed than this accommodation. Would not recommend.

This resort has gone downhill, we stayed about 6 years ago and it was fantastic, however now I probably wouldn’t return, it states premium apartments and we paid $386 per night, so not cheap, the grounds are well maintained and same with the reception and restaurant, however we were in villa 54, stains all over the carpets, holes in the wall of the downstairs bathroom. The aircon didn’t work properly in master bedroom and the flyscreen door fell off the runners every time we went out onto the deck.
We booked for 4 people and I rang ahead to advise we would be using the sofa bed, this was not made up and we had to track up to reception to ask for more bedding, when I unfolded the sofa cockroaches ran out, luckily we had bug spray....
The website stated dining for 4 inside and 4 outside, yet only three chairs were provided on the deck, we didn’t even have enough bowls or plates for the four of us and had to go to reception to ask for more.
Then I realised the oven was empty, not just trays, but no racks or anything, back up to reception to advise them and was told that it would be fixed the next day when housekeeping was there, I also advised that I would need the oven for Christmas Day cooking but this didn’t happen and made cooking Christmas lunch in frying pans very difficult as the bbq down near the tennis courts was taken up.
We then wanted to play tennis, the kids trekked up to reception and was advised that they only had three racquets, which is silly with such a large resort.
The spa bath didn’t work and another track up to reception as no plug was even supplied for the bath.
They do advise when you checkin that you have 30mins to advise them if it doesn’t meet expectations, however we were stuck considering it was 2 days before Christmas and the kids had been promised a holiday.
The reception staff don’t really care, saying sorry under your breath and writing a list that nobody will read as we saw with the oven isn’t good enough. And yes I made sure to tell the girls everything again upon checkout, this nearly ruined our Christmas holiday after a hard year.
For a budget holiday or a single night it might be ok, at high prices each night I at least expect the bare minimum of essentials, and not even this was met.
However, the pool is lovely and well kept, and the bar staff are great, the doughnut shakes my daughter had are absolutely amazing and well worth the treat.
The games room was ok, however when we were in there, the pool table and air hockey table both didn’t work, so there was only a car racing game, and then those expensive ones where nobody ever wins.

Booked via internet. $250 per night, one bedroom unit. Parking underneath and not lit well to room. Very dated and unappealing in unit. Arrived after reception shut and key was left in a series of safes. All key safe were broken and rusted and had been for some time. Arrived in room to find that one curtain rail had broken off the wall with a large hole in the gyprock gone unrepaired ( obvious old damage) Rail was badly fitted at an angle to support curtain, Curtains were just plain cheap. Furniture was very cheap and clearly done on a budget. Main bed was also very cheap, comfortable for the one night but no more. There was water leaking from the tiles to the bath. Once again it appeared the leak had been there for some time. No milk was supplied and no internet was available. Only good point was a great view to the sea. This place is incredibly overpriced. dated, lacks maintenance and will not be getting this person back. It would be lucky to rate 2.5 stars

From the foyer entry you get the feel that the hotel is run down. Even the bell on the front desk is rusty. The restaurant is closed. The general feel is grubby.
Then you get to your room … We booked a 2 bedroom villa. The drive to the room was confusing. Soiled laundry bags littered the fronts of villas as we passed. The downstairs held both bedrooms with living space upstairs.
The floors and carpets were worn and dirty. The bathroom looked original and was not clean. Toilet paper littered the floor beside the toilet. A Kmart curtain covered the window space between the bathroom and main bedroom. The main bedroom facing beachside was fronted by a swamp. The windows were opaque with grime, not just salty residue. There were no locks on the windows so you were unable to secure the villa. There was a smoke alarm needing a battery replaced. Lights were not working. The list goes on.
We went back to reception, voiced our concerns, and asked for a refund which was given without argument.
Please take this tip - find somewhere else to stay. How this place is allowed to operate is beyond me and needs to be taken up by the Council.

$300 for a dirty old room, broken spa and broken oven. We physically had to go through and tighten light bulbs and plug lamps in when we first entered the room.
No sheets on the bed, simply 2 flat sheets on either side of a stained duvet. Mould on the curtains. No shampoo or conditioner.
We specially booked this resort as we wanted to cook dinner on our last evening in Coffs and needed a fully equipped kitchen to do so. The oven would turn on for 10 minutes and then turn off for 10 minutes. Handy when you’re trying to cook pizzas for the family.
We asked for a maintenance person to check the oven (as we were mid cooking).
Instead they told us to return our key and collect a new key and check into a different room.
My partner ran around the resort to find the new room, kids packed everything up, walked our half cooked pizzas to the new room - surprise surprise the oven was broken there too. Lugged everything back to our original room.
Partner then had to return that key and collect our original key. All while we were trying to cook and enjoy a nice evening together. Why not send your staff to do this for us?
The reception was closed when we checked out so we couldn’t talk to them about our concerns. Two emails later and a message on booking.com and they’re simply ignoring us.
We requested a 50% refund which we think would be totally fair but they won’t even reply to us.
I doubt they will even read or care about this review. Disgusting. Do not stay here!

Beware of staying here for any type of holiday. I recently checked in for a business trip on the 02/11/2021.
After checking in I dropped my bags off and then went about my business in town. After dinner with a client I returned back to the room after their normal operating hours to find that the pillows were not cleaned and then bed sheets not changed. The smell from these pillows and bed sheets was disgusting.
After a terrible sleep I then went to speak with the staff after their 830am opening hours. I gave my story and then was told I can’t speak with a manager. Finally a manager managed to appear on the phone and I was treated with utter disregard and disrespect.
I was told that I was fabricating the story and that no assistance or compensation would be returned.
The manager obviously has no formal training or people skills.
Do not stay here unless you want to get sick!!!

This hotel was the worst and dirtiest I’ve ever been to, even in remote China. I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world, and this one was far below any of them.
We paid $650 per night, and I wouldn’t pay a single cent for this kind of accommodation. The smell was terrible, and there was no reception to help us with anything. All they had was a text message system.
My son had a panic attack because of the condition of the hotel, and we tried to book a few other hotels but we weren’t able to. I’m at a loss as to how anyone could operate a business like this.
I will never be returning to this hotel.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Aqualuna resort last weekend, and unfortunately we will not be returning. When entering the 2 bedroom apartment we were greeted with patchwork being done on the wall, missing light bulbs in the lamps, broken phone, old food left in the fridge which was turned off, a toilet that didn't flush properly and a layer of dust all over the kitchen.
We had also requested a spa bath when we made the reservation, and unfortunately the bath had no buttons for the jet and looked as if it had been out of use for quite some time. We were told that there were no rooms left with spa baths, but we could change rooms the next day.
The next day when talking to management they offered us another room which was very inadequate to the room we were in. When asked if there were any other options, the manager said no but we can have our money back and leave. I was taken back by his reaction as it made me feel very unwelcome as a guest at the resort.
I understand things don't always go as planned, but it was extremely disappointing for a "four star" resort.
The few good things of the hotel: comfortable bed, parking, good views and relatively new and modern furniture. The hotel has so much potential as the location is ideal and they have good facilities. A little bit of extra work from housekeeping and their front desk staff and this resort could really be the four stars they claim to be.

My family and I stayed one night and we were blown away by how dodgy the place was. The unit was large, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom with living, lounge and kitchen upstairs. But it was in seriously bad condition! The curtains in every room were draped over the rail because a lot of the clips were broken, the door was missing from our en-suite, the lighting was so dull we had to use the lamps as back up but only 2 had bulbs and only one of them worked. The beds were rock solid and the pillows were super soft and extremely lumpy. The carpet was stained and torn, there was no spare toilet paper and no tissues which you come to think of as standard. The main room was obviously supposed to have a tv because the wall bracket and the leads were all there but the tv wasn’t. Upstairs there was one sofa bed for 4 people to use as a lounge. It was so uncomfortable we didn’t even use it. The dishwasher lights kept flickering on and off and the toaster tripped the safety switch. We could only get one device to connect to the wifi and after the safety switch went that wouldn’t connect at all. And maybe worst of all the smoke detector had a plastic bag over it! The place was a disgrace and if we had of booked for any more nights I would have got my money back and left.
We went for a walk to the beach and passed the putt putt which seemed to be just grass with a sign that said putt putt. There was no course so I’m not sure how they call it that. We had room service for dinner and it was nice and all the staff I spoke to were friendly and despite being stained and falling apart the room was clean.
Overall, this is maybe the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I’ve payed $50 a night for motel rooms that were better than this and if you are reading this, please don’t waste your money here, it’s a dump.

Pros: Good location, spacious villas with washer, dryer etc CONS: Very smelly, ripped carpet, cockraoches, very run down. The kid's beds were so old they both woke up with sore ribs & backs from the springs. I requested they change their mattresses which they did 👍we then saw both old mattresses in their rubbish area. The kids sheets were stamped NSW Health...hospital sheets????? You couldn't sit on the couch from the springs sticking up the middle & sunk everywhere else. I did ask for them to change that too twice, not done. Bug spray was given for roaches. Big chips on glass cooktop & dining table reported. In general it needs a deep clean & alot of maintenance. Not worth the $2500 for 6 days.
