My husband and I stayed here for two nights for our wedding anniversary. We arrived at thurn barnhoff and it was very easy to find the bus that took you to the hotel. We arrived too early for checkin but we’re able to leave our luggage and come back later. Carmine checked us in and this was a fantastic experience. She really is a credit to your hotel. She explained everything about the hotel and told us about things to visit.
Our room was in a separate building from the hotel. This was no problem to us but may be worth checking if you have problems with stairs as there was no lift and you did need to put a coat on to go across to the main building. The Room was nice and clean good bed and linen. A nice bag with spa towels and robe no slippers you have to buy these. Down the hall way was a coffee station and water this isn’t in your room. Breakfast was very nice. We ate in the restaurant on one evening the service was very good, the menu not such a large choice . It was nice but we decided not to eat in the hotel on the second night. There was a nice area in the lobby where we sat in an evening and enjoyed a glass of wine.
We went down to look at the spa and book some treatments on our first day. Was rather disappointed with the two staff on the desk who really were not helpful or friendly. We came back in the evening to try again and to our surprise found no staff about at all. We used the spa area a nice pool very warm inside and outside there was a lot of chlorine in it we used the saunas and I must say I was amazed at the loose floorboards in there once I lost my footing when it moved and thankfully grabbed my husband rather than the hot coals. For me the spa area was a bit of a let down to the hotel. The hotel is in a lovely area on the lake lots of nice walks. In my opinion if the spa was better it would have been a perfect review.

Great escape from the busy city to relax and unwind. We loved the setting in the park by the lake and the laidback atmosphere with the friendly and professional staff. Great Spa, food and rooms with nice beds.

Visited the bar for a tea and Glühwein after a nice long walk. Yes a beautiful setup and friendly service. Hotel facilities seem modern and comfy. Nice spa area too (which, unfortunately, I didn't get to enjoy)

A great hotel and spa, but marred by a rascist "Africa Lodge" where they imply that all Africans must be cannibals . . . What century are we in?

They should redecorate it, and call it the "Orc's cavern" or something. Then they can keep the big "cookpot" hot tub, without denigrating a whole continent.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are, however, a bit confused that you describe our hotel and spa as "great", but rate our services and infrastructure with the lowest mark (?). We have been discussing the topic of racism with a number of people and take it very seriously. The African Lodge was never meant to imply anything offensive to the African people. On the contrary, it is meant to be a celebration of wellbeing and unity - just like our other two Private Spas, Swiss Chalet and Asian Lagoon. If you wish to explore this topic further and the perception of the African Lodge by the vast majority of the public, we invite you to search the relevant news clippings online. There have been a few lately. Possible measures and statements from various stakeholders are also expressed in these press articles. We thank you again for your valued feedback. Sincerely, Mirco Plozza, GM

Check-in was seemless.. I was escorted to my room and was shown all the bells and whistles. The room was spotless and view of the lake was stunning. Room was ultra modern, very spacious and comfortable. All lights are controlled by both your room key and individual switches, once you leave your room with your pass key all lights are turned off. WC is separate from shower and wash basin. The shower was very large and glass enclosed. Ample storage with in room electronic safe. Bed was very comfortable and no noise could be heard from adjoining rooms. I actually didn't realize hotel was so full until coming to breakfast. Luxurious robes and slippers provided with extra towels in a wicker hand basket for taking to the onsight spa. Large flat screen TV. The spa has both a very large outdoor fresh water jacuzzi and an indoor saltwater pool. Welcome cocktail provided at lobby bar.. A nice relaxing touch. A la cart menu was extensive with a good wine list. Seating was very intimate with tables for 2 guests to large dinner gatherings.
Breakfast was over the top. Fresh fruit, selection of yogurt, juices, cereals, wide selection of coffiees and teas and fresh baked breads. Hot eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon.
Checkout was as easy as arrival. Paid onsite parking is substantially reduced for guests.
I would defiately stay longer when vacationing in the area again.

The entire Resort is just amazing. The new built rooms and Junior suites are at 5*standart. The bedding guarantees a good night sleep, we appreciated the big balcony facing south in the JS, the Nespresso machine abd the tea maki g facility.
The bar is cosy and the bar team very friendly and professional the view over the lake stunning.

The Spa is located directly at the lake and offers fitness room with the latest equipment, very nice pool, sauna and Spa rooms. The massage and the facial were both excellent.

All employes from Housekeeping to Reception and Spa very friendly and knowledgable.
The soar point is the Restaurant, where we only met very few friendly faces.
The breakfastbuffet was ok for a group offering, when 50 people all come and go at the same time.
One would expect breakfast with a more individual offering for leisure guests.
The offered Omlets on the buffet dry and cold, so was the Rösti. The dry and cold scrambeled eggs were in a stainless steel container, basic knowledge in gastronomy is to have ready egg dishes in porcelain dish. Why not offering infividual guests hot dishes ftom the galley? It also saves money.
The entire offering during breakfast was very inconsistent. Whilst quite ok on Sunday, Monday it became very basic, 3 different breads and croissant. I asked for some breadrolls and was turned down in a rude way by the waitress.

In conclusion; infrastructure, location and Spa very unique.
Food offering in Restaurant good for groups and seminars/Meetings. For individual guests a host is requiredwho gives that place a signature and puts in his passion and his soul and who tailors a better offering for individual guests

Deltapark is a modern style hotel resort located at Lake Thun between Thun and Spiez (approx. 10 min drive to both cities). The hotel complex consists of a large garden with direct access to Lake Thun, restaurant and separate bar, a spa, gym and conference center. The staff is very professional, friendly and knowledgeable which is important to cater to both local and international guests. If you stay for 2-3 nights, I highly recommend to book your room incl. half-board (breakfast and dinner) - the cuisine is top-notch and will surprise you in a very positive way. At this occasion I would like to thank restaurant manager Jamina Zeciroski and her team for the inspirational celebration of the official 5-course gourmet menu (unoffical 15 courses!) created by head chef Stefan Prieler and his crew. Never seen and tasted anywhere before! This hotel is suitable whether on vacation with family and friends or on business. You will also enjoy some extra benefits - some only applies if you book directly with the hotel - such as free car parking, complimentary use of the public transport (bus station is 5 min walk away), boat tours and other excursions at up to 50% discount. You will get value for your money, so I will definitely come back to this paradise!

We booked this hotel for a long weekend, our goal was relaxing, having time away from every day's life.
We had a room in one of the annex buildings near to the Spa. The room was enormous, clean but without air conditioning it felt to be in a green house. Beds are not comfortable.
Our biggest issue was the breakfast. According to hotel rules, breakfast is served from 7.30 am to 10.30 on a Sunday. We got to the breakfast restaurant at 09h45 and almost there was no food left, tables were booked for lunch reservations. Were told by a waitress that it's almost brunch time. We had to ask for everything, called the restaurant manager and he ensured that we get what we needed. I do not understand other comments on breakfast, no freshly squeezed juices are available AT ALL (wellness hotel), fruit choice limited and no gluten free products are provided.
The only positive in the hotel is the Spa area & personnel.

Dear XY Thank you for your feedback. We regret that you did not enjoy your stay and that breakfast was a disappointment to you. Yes, brunch preparations were under way around that time. And we do understand that guests would like to relax and enjoy a late breakfast on Sundays. If some items are missing on the buffet towards the end of the breakfast time, guests are (and were) encouraged to order whatever items they desire with our waitresses. Maybe communication on our part was not quite clear and we apologize for this. Also, we do have fresh juice on the buffet as well as lactose free products. Gluten free bread is available upon request, as we want to ensure that there is no cross contamination. Our Waldhaus building is classified 3* and priced accordingly. The rooms are equipped with new ergonomic beds (flow sleep system), that a majority of our guests thoroughly enjoy. As it is the case with most (three star) hotels, there is indeed no air conditioning (as published on our website). Fans are provided upon request (and lake Thun is really cool and refreshing on hot summer days :-)). Again, we regret having to learn about your disappointment; we would have preferred to talk to you about this in person, as we would have found a way to compensate you and turn your stay into an enjoyable experience. While having to deal with complaints face to face is never a pleasure for us (and naturally also for you as a guest), we strongly believe that it is always more constructive and educational than having to reply to XY... We would be happy to have the possibility to be your hosts in the future and convince you that the Deltapark is the best place to "get away from it all". Regards from beautiful lake Thun Mirco Plozza, GM
