This is the coolest boutique hotel! We loved the hotel, friendly staff, and really enjoyed The Beer Garden. I highly recommend this hotel and will return! Great location near university. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast downstairs as well!

Historic Hotel Chester in downtown Starkville, Mississippi. Our first visit was well worth it. If you’re into nostalgic and quaint accommodations this is the place. From the personal front entry, the elevator with an open view of the street and the very charming lounge and breakfast area – first impressions go a long way. Room, a king, was a little...

We were here one night to visit our son who attends MSU. The staff was helpful, professional and most courteous. Our room was very clean and had wonderful charm and character. And of course, we loved the Beer Garden!

We spent one night at the Hotel Chester on a road trip. The staff were wonderful--they assisted us with parking nearby, helped us find the best restaurant for our tastes, and provided any other information or assistance we needed. Our room was small, but clean and met our needs. The hotel is located in the center of downtown Starkville, so...

Staff was wonderful. Cooked to order breakfast with room price. Small town hotel was the best choice we made for a busy graduation weekend in town. Recommend to anyone who is looking for something a little different than a brand name.

Thank you Sukie (General Manager) for an incredible anniversary weekend! Your hotel is charming. Your staff are friendly and acommodating. When do you sleep??? You were there when we came back in the evening and when we left in the morning. The town of Starkville is fortunate to have you and your husband as owners of this historic hotel!!! Until...

I was immediately in love with this hotel the minute I walked in! After spending time in corporate chains, I was so excited to see a DIY headboard, shabby chic decor and a coziness unparalleled on the road. David the manager is so sweet!!! They even washed and dried my shoes when they got soaked in the rain. Felt like...

The Historic Hotel Chester was on "Hotel Hell" several years ago and after that, I always wanted to stay there. While recently in town visiting our son at MS State, we decided to finally stay here. The hotel is downtown so you can walk to some cute boutique shops, restaurants, bars and a coffee shop. There is free downtown street...

We chose the Chester based on reviews we had read on this site! The hotel was well located in downtown and not far from Mississippi State University! The hotel has been well renovated but rooms are small (old hotel) and not as modern as most are used to today. That said room was clean and comfortable and staff was very...

After several stays here I just grow to love it more! This place is the real deal...and the staff always goes out of their way to make friendly and please. I love the owner and his "marine-ness" about him. I love the food and oh the Beer Garden is this great little find tucked in the midst of Starkville downtown!...
