Four of us (3 walking)and a 2 year old stayed one night. Great to be picked up dropped back to boat. The most amazing views on the deck so good for the soul. The most hospitable hosts and being able to buy basic supplies is fantastic including a packed lunch The best place

We stayed at De Bretts on our Queen Charlotte Track experience and what a hidden gem! The views are just stunning. Being a "backpackers" complete with the cheap sign pointing us in the right direction our expectations weren't huge but we can highly recommend it. The rooms were immaculate with everything you could need. Service was outstanding and we were...

DeBretts is THE PLACE to stay at Portage. Contact them via their website because you won't find them in the online booking engines. From brilliant backpacker accommodation at a reasonable price to luxury en-suite double rooms with all facilities, it can't be beaten.

We stayed here on our last night of the Queen Charlotte track. The backpackers is the downstairs of Deb and Brett's family home. Expect visits from the cat, PJ. We shared a twin room, which was incredibly spacious and had views out to the sound. The kitchen was well-equipped and basic groceries were available to purchase if needed. The shower...

I stayed in an ensuite room which had it's own balcony. The open plan living room, dining room and kitchen are fantastic with everything you need. The huge balcony space is great to relax with a drink. The room was very nice with a comfy bed. A few things that were lacking: a bedside table, only one electrical socket for...

We stayed in an ensuite double in the top house, which I can only describe as a little bit of luxury for a backpacker on the Queen Charlotte Track! The hosts are friendly and helpful. The dog and cat also seem to like visitors and are quick to demand fussing over! The kitchen is well equipped, open plan lounge and...

We stayed in several spots on the Queen Charlotte track but this was the best . There were jugs of cold water and juice in the fridge to quench our thirst. The kitchen had everything you could possible need to create a fabulous dinner if we had only known . The detail and standard was really high

What a treat to stay in this beautiful home after our big 25km tramp from Punga Cove. It was perfect for our group of 7 adults, as we hired the entire house for ourselves. The views are stunning. Yes, it is up a steep hill, but it is well worth the walk. The hosts were extremely helpful and we will...

We spend 1 night in portage bay during our completion of the Queen Charlotte Track. We were pleasantly surprised about the spacious set up, and the great views. Sharing big living room, kitchen and terraces with a few other rooms, while we had ourselves a balcony as well. Clean rooms. One minus: there is little room/ no hooks/ chairs to...
