Wow - what a fantastic B&B! I was visiting Winona for 3 days in December and I'm so happy that I chose to stay at the Alexander. It was recommended to me by a friend who raved about his experience. He wasn't exaggerating. To start with, the mansion is truly spectacular. It was originally built during the heyday of the...

The Alexander Mansion is exactly what I imagined a bed and breakfast should be. I was looking for a different alternative to where we had been staying in Winona. I am so very glad I found the Alexander Mansion! We stayed 4 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. My husband and I were well taken care of. Our room was large...

I cannot give the Alexander Mansion enough stars. Our stay there (3. nights) was so comfortable, pampered and carefree that it put all my Thanksgiving-with-the-extended-family trepidations to rest. Richard was so considerate to my husband and me as well as my sister and her husband (early Alzheimer) that all worries were swept aside. The Mansion is beautifully decorated, the family...

Built in 1886 the mansion has been meticulously refurbished to that date. There are discrete compromises with modernity; TV, WiFi, modern plumbing etc. But the rooms look and feel Victorian. The breakfasts are lavish with everyone seated around a large dining table being served four courses. Best to leave time for this. The host is very friendly, helpful and accommodating....

Richard is an old world host and will make you feel at home and warm. The mansion itself, true to Victorian style, feels like you stepped back into 1890 - with wonderful comforts and charm. I cannot recommend this property enough.

There were four of us celebrating a friend's 50th birthday. We did a vineyard trip down the Mississippi and landed here. It was perfect. The proprietor Richard welcomed us with wine and a tour of the first floor. The structure itself is magnificent and so well maintained. We stayed in the downstairs apartment with a full kitchen. We stayed in and...
