This is a wonderful location if you're looking to do some serious meditation, writing, painting or just chillin' out. The cottages are comfortable for two people, but can handle up to four courtesy of the fold out lounge.
Pets are welcome. Each cottage has an enclosed patio that is big enough for your pooch. Does pooch like to have a bit of a bark? Then look for a Plan B: a barking dog would disturb the peace and quiet like a chain saw.
Pros: (a) Our cottage was well laid out and had a small kitchen suitable for cooking simple meals. The bed was very comfortable. I slept like a baby. (b) Own a telescope? Pack it. Your reward is an unbelievably rich and beautiful night sky (no city lights). (c) Glennis is an excellent host--she can help you plan your itinerary or just point you in the right direction. (d) It's so peaceful and quiet that you can almost touch it. (e) A large number of the major towns and villages on the NSW far-north coast are easy drives from Crabbes Creek.
Cons: (well, not really) mobile phone reception is, at best, flaky. My telco is Vodafone and I had to drive several kilometers to pick up a signal. My partner's telco is Optus and he was able to pick up a signal by walking a short distance. Wifi is available, but you'll need to be near the owner's house to use it. But did you come for the peace and quiet or to spend time texting and surfing the net?

We'll definitely make a return visit.
You are near Byron Bay, Murwillumbah, Uki and many other interesting places and markets to visit.
Another highlight for me was I was able to take my four legged friend so that was a lovely treat for her too.
Unfortunately there were a couple of hiccups when the owner was away this year and someone else was managing the place, but do not let the other comments on this site put you off, it really is a lovely place.
I cant wait to go again and i think my dog feels the same!
cheers Janead

The outlook and views from every room were idyllic, and although rain plagued our visit, it was very peaceful sitting on the balcony with the hinterland surrounding.
I was interested in a location that allowed serenity for daily yoga, meditation and study/reading. Crabbes Creek Cottages offered this and so much more. Gracious owners, no fuss, other wonderful guests. Highly recommended.
Ps. Don’t forget to sneak quietly past the creek – you might catch a glimpse of the turtles and ducks! I also had a tiny green frog and various birds visit my balcony daily - nothing short of breath taking.

The best part are the verandahs to sit out and relax with tea in the morning or wine in the evening and take in the stunning rural views with adorable lake in the centre of the property.
Amazing place, will definitely be coming back for a visit.
"All the cottages are well located. Some are closer to the road, but traffic noise isn't a consideration."Read full review
