We have stayed here 5 times, every time it has been enjoyable and relaxing. We will be back again. stayed in the skiff house this time and really enjoyed the cozy feel of this little room. woke up to a ship in port and the signal horn blowing. How cool is that for an alarm? I think we should be still putting up the flag in the morning and taking it down in the evening tho. Also, miss feeding the deer, but I understand they have their social distancing stuff going on as well with CWD. But all in all this is a must experience for all that would like a different one.
Everything you could ever want. Beautiful view, beautiful design, beautifully kept, and top it off with incredibly accommodating hosts that go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I'll remember my stay here for the rest of my life.
This is a truly one of a kind place to stay! We will for sure be coming back. Having access to Superior and the walking trails is awesome. We stayed in the skiff house. It was perfect and cosy for us.
First, I agree with all the other reviews about amazing view, quaint accommodations, etc. However, we encountered an unpleasant situation related to our stay at the Skiff House - we reserved for two because it was described as having a queen bed and a fold-out futon. When we arrived, there were no linens for the futon. We contacted both of the "non-urgent" numbers, but no one got back to us until the next morning, leaving one of us to sleep on the musty futon with no linen. We were told that when you make a reservation you need to let them know that you would like to use the futon (nowhere was that indicated, and not mentioned in our confirmation e-mail), and there would be a $10 washing fee if linens were provided for the futon. The Skiff House is charming but with limited space - a person sleeping against the wall in the queen bed would have a hard time getting out of bed in the middle of the night. And we wanted two beds. As of today there is still no indication on the web site regarding specific request for linen and the $10 fee. SO. . .if you plan to rent the Skiff House and would like two beds, be sure to let them know ahead of time!…
