Another "awesome" time at Northern Rail. It is not a B&B, but more cozier. Cyndy and Jeff are truly the "Greatest" owners. They take pride in taking care of the guests and making sure everything is fine. Our family has been treated just like family while we have stayed there. They tell you about new things that are happening along...

We had the conductors suite and it was so nice. A king bed in the bedroom and a queen size pullout for the kids in the living area. A very unique hotel to say the least. Super friendly owners and soft drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. If you like trains you will love this place and even if you...

We started our weekend by staying at the Northern Rail Traincar Inn, it was a great decision. The motel was quaint and very charming. We staying in the King Conductor suites (connecting rooms) and felt very comfortable. There were sweet personal details in the rooms and also modern conveniences (microwave and refrigerator). We will definitely stay there again.

My girlfriend & I enjoyed an annual girls weekend away. What a special place in the beauty of the north woods and wonderful touches that make you want to come back. Rooms are decent size and very clean with charming touches. Good breakfast & close to Duluth, state park & Superior hiking trail. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at Northern Rail. We got a conductor's suite, which was probably too big for just the 2 of us. It was nice to have the space though. We looked in the other rooms though and I think they would've been sufficient for us. The continental breakfast in the morning is sufficient and pretty standard. The only...

My husband and I stayed in the Queen Conductor Suite two nights over Labor Day weekend. We had a very enjoyable stay. The location is perfect, secluded but close to town. Cyndi and Jeff couldn't have been nicer, friendly and a pleasure to talk to. Our room was beautiful...spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved the large window in the living...

This is a small hotel set in the woods but easier to find than we thought. Made out of 10 train cars! And the husband and wife owners are hands on and so accommodating and nice. Clean, comfortable and quiet with lots of special touches. Close to several North Shore must see sites. There also is a very large fire...

A unique and positive experience. Train buffs, prepare for system overload. Not particularly into trains? You will still enjoy the surroundings. Once you get used to the width of a train car, it is quite comfortable. Breakfast was great. The lobby offers everything from water, soft drinks, books, games and toys. The owners did everything possible to make sure we...

Stayed here for 2 nights in early September. Okay, I admit the idea of spending the night in a train converted into a hotel inn, was somehow appealing, especially after reading reviews. But the novelty wears off pretty quick in the "basic & small" porter rooms, which did not have mini fridge, microwave, or even coffee maker. Plus in my...
