This is a must see place only a few ks off the main highway. We stay here 2 or more times a year on our way through. Peaceful and quiet, very friendly staff that are eager to help any way they can. Bushwalks with amazing ocean views, the fishing is great only a few yards from the cabins and kangaroos...

I returned for another visit in need of some much needed down time. This time I booked the Beach House & it was perfect! Easy access to the beach = multiple beach walks each day. Quiet at night = deep sleep. The staff were all very friendly & welcoming. 3 nights here felt like a week! Thank you :-)

This place is beautiful in the middle of the bush. Peaceful. Staff friendly and helpful. Only issue was with when booking. When first booked was given one price. after I rang up to give credit card for deposit, they rang me back a day later to say the beach house had increased by $50 a night. When I questioned it,...

What a beautiful spot to spend a week in. We booked for 3 days and ended up staying a week, we just couldn't leave such a perfect place. Peaceful, friendly, clean and set amongst beautiful natural surroundings with kangaroos, wallabies and lots of noisy birdlife. We were more than happy with our week there and look forward to returning when...

We just stayed over one night. We were on a birding holiday in Australia. We were up early the next, at 5 AM, as were many others, to see many kangaroos that routinely meet up at that time on the beach. The camera snapping tourists didn't seem to phase them at all. We just saw a few birds on the...

The campground is beautifully located very close to the beach in the middle of nature. At sunrise the kangaroos are coming to the beach and it is a great spectacle. The staff was very friendly and helpful to find the campground for the next stay. The amenities have come into the years and are unfortunately not very well maintained. Especially...

We were looking forward to this overnight stay but were disappointed by our experience. To be fair we only stayed 1 night and weren't able to take advantage of the nature walks and wildlife that abound here. It's an interesting beach and the sunrise is stunning, with the wallabies and kookaburra coming in early (be up and out by 5...

Cape Hillsborough This is a beautiful bush resort right on the beach. The facilities are slightly above average. The pool is excellent. There are a few walks in the area so stay long enough to explore. We highly recommend the walk to “turtle lookout”, coming back along the beach at low tide. We saw many turtles and a couple of...

We stayed at Cape Hillsborough for three days and wish we'd had longer. At dawn kangaroos come down to the beach to get nutrients from the salt and seaweed and of course excite the campers and guests. There are many walks and activities for all including a putt putt course which is a challenge even for the adults.

Cape Hillsborough is amazing. Beautiful natural surrounds, lovely beach, fantastic bush walks nearby and good for a swim at the park pool. Secluded and feels like its miles away from civilization. But only 30 mins from Mackay!
