When you stay at the Jackaroo Treehouse Rainforest in Mission Beach, it is an experience like no other. Set in the beautiful world heritage tropical rainforest of Far North Queensland, it is a slice of paradise. Come and experience something out of the ordinary. This beautiful giant treehouse boasts large open living areas, a large commercial kitchen, spacious rooms and a stunning sundeck overlooking the pool area with hammocks and sun lounges. Then, if that’s not enough, a lush green tropical rainforest as a backdrop. Who would have guessed that a treehouse could be so cool! The atmosphere is unmistakably friendly and laid back. You can take a short walk to the pristine Bingil Bay beach, venture out to the Great Barrier Reef for a day of snorkelling or scuba diving, go skydiving in Mission Beach, ride the rapids while white water rafting down the Tully River, hike through the rainforest searching for the elusive Cassowary, or just spend your hours lying by the pool taking in the rays. It’s the perfect place to take a break, or enjoy all that the outdoors has to offer.

Stayed for 2 nights at the Jackaroo Treehouse. Very easy to find and such a good location.

The rooms and kitchen were very clean and had everything you needed for making food, the showers and toilets were very clean and the owner Rob was very helpful if you needed anything. He also went out of his way to tell you what’s going on in the area and what you could do if you wanted to venture out. A really nice guy.

Mission beach was a stop for us on our road trip where we wanted to relax and chill and the Treehouse offered that with the big swimming pool and chill area and it’s “jungle vibes” the noise of rainforest is just unbelievable. After these 2 days we felt very relaxed and pumped with more energy to continue our road trip.

We ventured out to the Bingil Bay cafe which is really good and also try a few little walking trails for stunning views of the beaches.

I would say great value for money and if your thinking of stopping in mission beach Jackaroo HAS to be a stop on the iternary.

Jackaroo Treehouse is a great place to get away for some peace and quiet. Nestled nicely on the edge of the Daintree, the Jackaroo Hostel has great facilities, a brilliant swimming pool, terrace overlooking the forest, immaculate facilities and a newly put in cafe/bar.

Robert is a great host who has an abundance of local connections to ensure you have a good time and experience the local area. Myself and two friends went cycling for a day, Robert organised the bikes and also ensured he gave us a brief on all the things we could do locally. Robert also organised white water rafting along the River Tully for me on short noticed.

Brilliant facilities and immaculately clean. Would 100% stay again, great place.

Stayed here for one night, really cool place very chilled vibe with large chill out area. The owner was so friendly and helpful he even gave us a free lift to the bus station. Even though it was very rainy we still enjoyed our stay and really enjoyed the food at bingle bay cafe (it’s about a 15-20min walk from accommodation).

Jackaroo treehouse is a little gem set in the heart of the rainforest. While you're not far away from the town and the beach, you can spend hours there chilling by the pool or in a hammock, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and amazing scenery. On top of that everything is super clean, there's a free breakfeast in the morning and you can easily meet people at the hostel's bar. Highly recommended!

Amazing place if you want a few days to relax and get away from the party hostel lifestyle. However, as a solo traveller I personally found this hostel slightly too unsociable, with most people keeping themselves to themselves. But either way being in the middle of the jungle is amazing and the regular shuttle buses make it easy to visit mission beach for the day. The kitchen is kept clean and the breakfast includes a range of cereal as well as bread and jam.

Very good hostel! Clean rooms and good showers. The cocktails and sandwiches are great. It’s a nice place to relax while traveling. It is a bit remote and there are no parties, so it might be more enjoyable to go with someone rather than alone. The staff is super friendly, and you can also rent bikes! The only thing I missed were shade and lounge areas by the pool.

I spent nine days in Jackaroo Treehouse working and exploring Mission Beach. It’s the perfect place to come and relax and see Mission Beach. The owner Rob is great, extremely helpful and nice, doing everything in his power to make everyone enjoy their stay. There are a lot of backpackers passing through so it’s a great place to meet fellow travellers. The location of the hostel is amazing, in the middle of the rain forest. This means that there aren’t any shops close by so make sure to bring enough food before going to the hostel. The kitchen was clean and the Wi-Fi fast enough to be able to work.

My experience at the Jackaroo couldn't have been better! It's a little oasis to rest and recharge your batteries, with comfy beds, free breakfast, good swimming pool and a view on the rainforest. The owner, Rob, was so nice and always ready to help even at busy times. He had good suggestions on what to do in Mission Beach, which I found such a cute, relaxing and friendly place (like Byron Bay before the tourism wave, they say). 100% recommended !!!

Jackaroo treehouse is a really cozy, calm and beautiful place to visit. The place is clean and fresh. You are always close to the nature and all the wonderful animals - I saw my first Cassowary here! With just a 20 min walk you can visit the beautiful mission beach.
The guy who runs the place is very friendly and helping. Would 100% recommend.

We didn’t end up staying. We booked after looking through the website and seeing that there was a nice shady camping area under the trees. Alas, when we arrived in our JUCY van we were told that vans are required to camp in the hot and dusty gravel carpark. We asked for a refund and left. Very misleading. Seeing as a lot of backpackers travel in these type vans, you might consider updating your website to ensure people are aware that if they have a van they will be camping in the carpark. You should also include a picture of the carpark on the website? There is even a driveway to the camping area, why don’t you open it up? A real shame because it did seem like a nice, relaxing place. We ended up staying at Bali Hai on the beachfront.
