Looking at the name "Camden Valley GOLF RESORT" we looked on the web site and the pictures looked ok . The prices were high for a motel unit ($159 per night) but as accommodation in that area is pretty scarce we felt that we would have to accept this. When we arrived, we found typical motel style units (2-storey) that were shabby and quite obviously not well maintained.
Check in was ok but not really "welcoming" and when we asked about a lift, I think we were expected to know that there was a ramp from the carpark to the 2nd floor to take our luggage up.
We drove around to the carpark, and proceeded to our room. The ramp was well worn (the surface looked like old carpet tiles), the walkway outside the rooms was also worn out (a painted surface), the air conditioners hang out from each unit right next to the entry door to the room (mind your heads if you are tall).
The room was ok albeit outdated and with tired decor. The bed was reasonably comfortable (that we realise is personal) but please, make sure the bedding is large enough to actually tuck in around the bed!!!
As we left our room the following morning we left a tag on the door asking for the room to be made up. When we arrived back that evening, the tag was still there and the room had not been made up. An apology was received from management that evening and the room was attended to the following day. Even though they changed all sheets and the towels, attention to detail such as dusting etc leaves a lot to be desired.
We are told that they currently have a large booking from a construction company for the next 3 years and that the contractors are booked into approximately half of the units.
From this we feel that they are happy with a secure booking for this length of time and not really concerned about the general public booking in.
I feel that they are "riding" on the name of the Golf Course.
We won't be staying there again.

I took my fiance there for her birthday for a meal with family and the food was quite nice. The only downside was one of my fish fillets (I had the seafood platter) was not cooked properly, however when I took it back they replaced my meal with a new fresh plate which was very nice. The service was great. The staff very friendly. And the prices very good for the meals on the menu. The menu has a great selection. My partner had pasta with prawns and it was delicious.
