We usually stay in Lanesboro but it was full up the w/e we went, so we turned to Preston. It happened to be a good thing because the Trailhead Inn is a great value ($129) for the space. Continental breakfast included (toast, muffins, yogurt, juice/coffee/milk, waffle maker). Although for summer if you plan to tube down the Root River, Lanesboro...

We primarily booked this hotel based on its location to Mystery and Niagara Caves. We were also interested in the trails, as we've never visited this area before. There were no surprises at the Trailhead Inn. The website did a pretty good job in describing the amenities and the rooms were spacious and clean. The rooms each had their own...

We were in the main Motel, not the Suites. Nice clean room for $100 on a weekend. The woman on the phone, and the guy working the night we stayed were both friendly and helpful. Microwave, LARGE mini-fridge, everything in the bathroom worked and was spotless, good A/C unit (a touch loud, but that can't be helped.) There's spare blankets...

We stayed in the renovated school. There was 3 of us so having 2 bedrooms and a living room gave us space to spread out. I'm glad we check in when it was daylight and not dark out. It was a little confusing finding the building and where to park. The room were quiet, we didn't hear anyone else in...

We stayed in the renovated schoolhouse (suite). Great space, small town friendliness and service. Need something - just ask. A little school history in placards by rooms. 1/2 block from downtown. Character in the hallway seating areas, hot tub, Beautiful area of the state and bike trail is adjacent to facility. Many sights within a 15 minute drive.

We spent a couple of nights here while meeting friends for biking. Units are pretty plain but large and well equipped for the price. Enjoyed the deck to sit and relax outside. Nice attraction of Amish wagon selling their wares outside the property.

This review pertains only to east-most portion of the Trailhead Inn along the bike trail...a row of ten motel-like rooms. First the negatives: small TV, weak/slow Wi-Fi, paucity of nearby restaurants. The good: nice, spacious deck in front of rooms, plentiful parking, immediate access to bike trail (north to Lanesboro; south to Harmony), rooms are quiet, comfortable, clean, up-to-date, and...

Very spacious. Great for a fishing weekend with friends. Big kitchen, living room, bedrooms. Great value. Looking forward to my next stay. Space for bike storage inside if you don't want to lock it outside.

Stayed 2 nights in February. Detention hall is a big room. Small fridge and only 2 burners. Don't bring too much food or plan to cook much at one time. Jacuzzi did not work. We started to fill up the tub and used all the hot water in the building apparently. Had to wait 15 minutes to get more hot...

Stayed 4 nights in 2 bedroom suite Room 209. Positives are the big room, the space, the nice full kitchen with wooden table/4 chairs and counter space. The access to the trail is great for my husband the cyclist. He also enjoyed the hot tub and sauna on same floor. The negative in this particular room are the couch and...
