Fishing is great, but if you do not like fishing, nature is abundant with Bald Eagles, the call of the Loons and beautiful sunsets. Our hosts Dave and Gerry are the best. Our cabin was clean with great views of the lake. We plan on visiting again next year.

I've stayed on 3rd Crow wing Lake for 40 years, and Big Timber for part of my stay for the past three years. The rustic cabins sit on top of a bluff with a sunset view. The benefits of this resort are its sandy weed free shoreline with no inshore drop off, and excellent new docks. Great for families with...

I have to say that Preston and Penny are the best. They accommodated our request to spend just one night before heading to another resort about 46 miles away. We are so glad we did. I have come to believe that a resort is not a place, but rather the people that own and operate the "place". The cabin we...

My husband and I loved the amazing sunsets we viewed from the dock and our cabin. Having an eagle fly by topped it off. Very clean cabin! Friendly, caring and accomodating owners (Preston has an amazing radio voice). The short hiking area in the woods was great after a meal. Easy trip to go out to eat in Dorset, Nevis...

I will start off by saying we already booked our cabin for next year. We had such a nice time. The resort was quiet and peaceful everything we were hoping for. Not a party resort unless your idea of a party is camp fires, fishing, grilling, kayaking, pedal boating, horse shoes, basketball, reading, board games, pool, picnics I could go...

We just got back from an excellent week at Big Timber Lodge. As we left the lodge we asked our 4 kids ages 10-16 how they would rate the trip on a scale of 1-10. All 4 of them rated it 8.5-9.5. We have traveled to many beautiful places in the US and abroad so this was a huge compliment....

We have spent several spring and fall vacations at Big Timber over the past 8 years. Preston and Penny have been excellent hosts during our long and not-so-long stays. We enjoy our time relaxing, fishing and watching the grandkids play at the beach. The quiet of the evening fire time, breathtaking sunsets and the loons singing keep us coming back...

Fun time had by all. Sitting around the campfire while the sun goes down, kids laughing and having fun. Couldn't ask for a more ideal location. Great beach for the kids and lots of fishing fun for all ages. We come back every year and enjoy it more and more. Penny and Preston are great!

We have stayed at Big Timber Lodge for the last 7 years and have always had a great experience. The fishing always good, the beach and cabins clean, and great hospitality from the owners Preston and Penny. We are a big family and have made great memories at Big Timber Lodge that will last us a lifetime! If you are...

“Looked to me that any cabin would have been great. We stayed in #4, and while the cabin did not have wifi, the lodge did offer wifi. I recommend leaving the electronics behind. It's okay to be "disconnected" and is invaluable to a truly enjoyable family vacation. Fred”
