This is a very honest, authentic and excellent value-for-money accommodation operation in Baudin Beach. Run by an exceptionally industrious and obliging host it presented a hastle free couple of days in a beautiful part of the world. The place is generously equipped with breakfast and tea and coffee making facilities. It is warm and comfortable, the smart TV runs to YouTube as well as a range of other digital options, and the bed is very comfortable. It is delightfully quiet and peaceful, away from the main road and set in bushland with an array of birdlife present. It is spotlessly maintained and cleaned. While it might not be 5 star standard it does represent excellent value for money, is spotlessly clean and everything works. On top of that were the little extra things made available - the host, on arrangement, cooked the most appetizing King George whiting fish meal with superb vegetables and sautéed potato. She also did a load of washing for us, hung it out to dry and all for a very modest price. All in all the kind of family and home style accommodation I'd be happy to recommend anytime, any place.

This BnB is a small (3 units) in Baudin Bay, about 10km from Penneshaw. You do need a car to get to this BnB and it is not located near any facilities.

This is a family run/owned BnB. The unit is like a small studio, with a small kitchenette and bathroom. Breakfast is provided and you are able to use the kitchen facilities located outside of the unit.

Breakfast is left in the unit and the homemade waffles are in the main kitchen freezer. I was out to catch sunrise each morning, so it was perfect to be able to take the waffles with me and eat them while exploring.

While I loved this BnB and enjoyed talking with the owner (she gave so many great places to explore), the location is not convenient for exploring the far end of the island (around Remarkable Rocks), as driving back after dusk takes a long time (almost 2 hours). [Please be careful when driving after dusk on Kangaroo Island so you do not hit a kangaroo or koala, I had to stop numerous times for kangaroos and once for a koala].

In addition to the typical Kangaroo Island activities, I do recommend:
— heading up Prospect Hill at sunrise (lots of steps).
— going through the cave to get to Stokes Bay
— pay extra for the guided tour at Seal Bay Conservation Park (you are able to get relatively close to the seals with a guide)
— go get a lavender latte and lavender ice cream at Emu Bay Lavender Cafe and Farm

Lovely little B&B tucked away with absolutley everything you need. Birds twittering. Clean room and a beautiful breakfast. At the back a nice walk along the coastline to a lookout where you have a gorgeous view of the Eastern Cove, the beach and the American River.

Leasha is an amazing chef and our meals were incredibly tasty. Self contained clean accomodation (3 in total) with queen size bed and ensuite. Includes bar fridge, kettle and toaster. If you want to self cater there is a camp kitchen. Quiet area not far from the ferry at Penneshaw or local wineries. Great spot to explore the Dudley Peninsula on Kangaroo Island. Would stay again.

We stayed for 3 nights in January and absolutely loved this place. Our entire room was spotless and very comfortable, it had everything we needed:

Fridge, Toaster, Tea & Coffee making facilities, breakfast cutley & crockery

There is a ceiling fan in the room which is good for keeping cool in the summer and electric blankets and heaters for the winter. There is also a sofa, table and chairs and a door to a private patio which was lovely on a summers evening. The TV in the room is very small but you're not really there to watch the TV.

Our bed was very comfortable and the included breakfast is replenished daily in your room it consists of cereal, milk, juice, bread and a fruit pot. The shared kitchen facilites are very good and clean there is an electric hob, electric frying pan, microwave and a large fridge freezer, these facilites are shared between the 3 guest rooms.

The owners are very helpful and friendly and gave the right level of welcome (e.g. not overpowering and let you just do your own thing).

You will need a car to get to the accommodation which is set in a very peaceful location and means you get some excellent sleep. The beach is just around the corner and is great for a peaceful evening stroll.

The free wifi isn't the most reliable but is ok for checking emails and the odd internet search. All in all we absolutely loved our stay at the Fig Tree B&B and would definitely do it again.

Our cabin looked small and basic from the outside but, on entering it, we were pleasantly surprised at the charming decor and spaciousness of the room. There was a small dining area, easy chairs, and also a verandah, facing a little garden.
Our charming hostess, Lycia, allowed us to check in, even though we arrived hours before the check-in time; so we were able to leave our luggage and freshen up before hitting the tourist attractions.
Breakfast is included in the rates. In the room, were continental breakfast essentials like cereals, bread, jam and yoghurt. However, you are also welcome to cook the eggs and frozen belgian waffles in the exterior kitchenette, just across the rooms.
We felt really at ease during our stay, with the generous, kind and hospital attitude of our hostess!
Lastly, I must mention our dinner here. I had pre-ordered dinner from Lycia ( She is a trained chef) for one of our nights there, as we knew we would return late - having booked on the nocturnal tour at Hanson Animal Sanctuary - and all restaurants on KI would be closed. We had booked for a 8:30 dinner, but only got back at 9:15, because we had to inch down the night road as animals were crossing it every 200 m or so! I was texting Lycia with apologies, but she was cheerful and understanding; and then served a delicious dinner of KG Whiting, perfectly cooked though were an hour late!

Stopped here just one night before catching the ferry. Our room was great we had room 2. It had a small table and lounge as well as the makings for a continent breakfast. Cereal, and bread and spreads, yoghurt, fruit, and toaster and coffee and tea. Outside in the communal kitchen was eggs and waffles. There is a bbq if you wish to cook too. The bed was comfortable and the whole unit lovely and clean. Our hostess was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Great.

A wonderful homely welcome to an outstanding B&B. The Fig Tree is located in a quiet area with lovely walks to the beach along the coast. We were pleasantly surprised at the variety of breakfast provided for us and the lovely outlook from our verandah. There is a kitchen available if you wish to use it.
