My family had booked to go the Balmoral 575 in May 2020 but due to the Coronavirus pandemic and Qld borders closing we cannot go as we live interstate. We have paid in full (over $4,000!) and despite many attempts and pleading with the owners to refund our money they have refused! They will not even negotiate a partial refund - Angus the owner has been completely unreasonable and mean. I understand these are challenging times but this owner will not even refund one dollar. I would caution anyone who is thinking about booking this accomodation to look elsewhere as the customer care here is non existent!

My family and I recently stayed for a week in the house and bungalow . The holiday was for my 60th birthday and my family came from overseas and Melbourne and other parts of Qld, My husband and I had previously stayed in the bungalow but my other family members were totally blown away by the setting and view from our accommodation. Everything about the two properties is wonderful. The furniture and decor were beautiful, Quality amenities were provided including a washing machine and dryer, Every item you could need was provided in the kitchen. But it was all the small things that were lovely- quality sheets and pillows, beautiful toiletries, a well stocked fireplace , solar heated pool and beautiful plants and garden - and lots of parking, We had the best stay, Thankyou so much Angus and Jicky. We will never forget our holiday and your kindness and generosity.

We had plans to go to a wedding in August. We live in NSW and this property is in QLD, then the borders were closed. The property wasn’t interested in changing the dates and kept all the money. Full payment of $2516. Very selfish and unaustralian. So sad to see people only looking out for themselves. This booking was made through bookings.com and they did nothing to help, watch out for then too.

We booked Balmoral 575 for a week over the Christmas break, via their website, after seeing photos of the property's spectacular new swimming pool. I only saw the negative reviews below after our stay.
This was my second time staying at one of the host, Angus's beautiful rental properties. The other one was called Bungalow 217 and we stayed there toward the end of 2021. I have to say that on both occasions we were blown away not only by the great beauty of each property but the clarity in all communication from Angus. The attention to detail was incredible and he went over and above making sure our stay was perfect.
His change/cancellation policy was, to me, crystal clear. I ALWAYS clarify this prior to making a booking at a hotel or rental property and suggest all other travellers do the same, including the previous guests. I'd also like to say that Angus made extra allowances with regard to changes for my first booking at Bungalow 217 in 2021, when Covid was still affecting travel, although we didn't need them.
Balmoral 575 is a sprawling ranch-style home that opens out onto the most beautiful deck and heated swimming pool, long enough to do laps in. Both the home and the pool overlook a massive rainforest and the entire Sunshine Coast. The view is breathtaking: on clear days you can even see the sand dunes on Moreton Island.
The pool is new - I think we were one of the first guests to use it. The house (sleeps 8) is older and less luxurious that Bungalow 217 (sleeps 2), although this is reflected in the price. In saying that it has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, all the modern cons and is relaxed and comfortable. When we weren't by the pool - which must be the most beautiful swimming pool in the Sunshine Coast hinterland - we were playing cards ands monopoly, cooking, drinking wine... always barefoot... it's that kind of house. Very easy to arrive and difficult to leave.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of Angus's properties (we also had a tour of nearby Bungalow 575, which is really lovely) and look forward to returning one day soon.
