Excited to try something new! We've camped at many of the state parks along the north shore but decided to try a cabin....it was awesome!! Quiet (September-after school started), well cared for, hiking was great and if you need your technology fix there is satellite tv and excellent wi-fi.

Thanks for mentioning our creature comforts! Years ago, we got dinged regularly for not having fast enough WIFI, but since 2014, we have had broadband internet available due to a government grant in Cook County. That allowed us to offer the faster service. The TV system is Dish Network and was also installed that year, but it is satellite. HOpe...

Visiting and site seeing in the area. Cascade Lodge was quiet, our room was spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location and view from the front room is lovely. The conveniently located restaurant is good. Less favorable were the too firm mattresses and foam rubber pillows. Also, the ceiling fan in the room was rickety looking and noisy.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I am super sorry about your pillow and have yet to track it down. We have never purchased a foam pillow so it's possible it's one that someone else left and got into our inventory. If you could possibly email us about the room number that would be great. We just put all...

First, the owners are VERY supportive of hikers! No strings attached, they immediately agreed to hold a box of food/resupply items for a couple weeks for my husband and I, on our thru-hike of the SHT. As it turns out, the morning we arrived to pick up our box, it had stormed overnight and we were wet and cold. Luckily,...

Thanks for taking the time to review our property and mention our support of the Superior Hiking Trail which come directly through our property! It's always fun to hear stories of the hikes people are taking. Our restaurant service times are slower than what people may be used to, that is because we make everything from scratch and to order....

We have stayed at Cascade Lodge several times. They have many options to choose from, from a room to several different cabin options. Our favorite is the cabins on the creek, if you open the windows you can listen to the running creek waters. There are hiking trails that go directly into Cascade State Park and the waterfalls are an...

Thank you for taking the time to review our property and thanks for mentioning our award winning restaurant. We also like the running waters of the stream that flows through Cascade Lodge, it's a tranquil and peaceful setting to unwind. Hope to see you again. Michael and Maureen O'Phelan, Owners

From the first minute we pulled into the Cascade Lodge, until the sad moment we had to leave, we made cherished memories with our family. The setting is like out of a story book with picturesque cabins, a rippling river, and waterfalls. Across the road is the grand Lake Superior. Cabin three was well stocked and perfect for our family....

I randomly came across this place while looking for somewhere to stay during the tall ships festival in Duluth. Our stay at the Cascade lodge ended up being the highlight of the whole trip! While some may not like the homey atmosphere and country feel, it was perfect to me and my family. It is definitely not a luxury resort...

We have stayed for x-c skiing in winter and now a quick visit in summer. What a great place. The property is well maintained and they have thought of all the nice extras to make for a pleasant stay. Can't beat the breakfast at the restaurant. The staff is helpful in answering any questions on trails and sites in the...

As others have stated - your enjoyment of Cascade Lodge will be mosstly dependent on what you are looking for... The positives: Nice and friendly staff. Clean cabin - very clean. Nice location - 9 miles from Grand Marais. Pet friendly. Water pressure is good. The negatives: Some of the furniture is getting old. The rest of it is really...

I'm sorry we were not the right fit for you! But thanks for an honest assessment of your stay at Cascade Lodge. We can't change things like the size of our kitchens but we are always striving for better service, more up to date amenities and we are constantly updating our furnishings, beds and everything else our 28 units need!...

While this lodge is conveniently located near the Superior Trail, Cascade River State Park and about 10-15 minutes south of Grand Marais I would not rate it highly. We stayed in Cabin 6, a one bedroom cabin which sleeps 4 with a sofa sleeper. The "kitchen" was tiny with a dorm sized refrigerator, an approx 18" x 18" countertop and...

Thanks for taking the time to review our property. I am sorry it was not to your liking. Cabin 6 is one of our more popular units and is rented continually. To be honest, your complaint is rather unique in that regard as most of our guests are very happy with the kitchen and facility in general. Having said that,...
