Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The drinks and food took forever to come out. The staff was rude and incompetent. Waitress completely forgot our drinks and brought them out poorly made. Staff couldn’t keep track of our food and kept asking us if things came out.

We stayed here as we were attending a birthday party in one of their convention rooms. Accommodation was great. Room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Lost a star - nearly two - because of the breakfast. We had noticed a lot of room service food was barely touched and discovered why. We ate in the bistro and ordered simple poached eggs & bacon plus hash browns with long blacks on the side. Eggs were hard which made for dry eating. Bacon was cold and hash browns were undercooked. To really ruin the experience, my long black was filtered coffee. My advice? Check out and take a drive into Cleveland and eat at one of their many good cafes.

I usually don't get around to writing a review but I really felt this one was "well deserved"! I was travelling by myself! I think they call that "solo".'!!! I wanted to get to know the local area better, maybe we'll move there??!! We were looking at buying a property in the area but needed to get "the feel" of the area, to confirm, was this going to be the "right decision.!! The Alexandra Hills place was a great place to stay. We found the room clean, well organised, comfortable and we had a wonderful sleep ( I must say). Next day, rested, great breakfast & all in all....excellent! Also, we met friends in the bar downstairs in the evening and we enjoyed excellent service, good wines and a relaxed environment. Thankyou.

Pretty good. New large king suites, good gym, restaurant and live entertainment. There is enough separation of accommodation from the main bar so no issues there. I think the best alternative for transit to north stradbroke island via Cleveland ferry. No quiet space in public areas if you needed to do any laptop or business while having a beer. Overall 4 star and good value.

Stayed here for 2 nites this week . The accommodation here is probably the best in the Redlands , the reception staff on arrival were very professional but unfortunately I cannot say the same for the bar staff or the restaurant staff and the food and cooks Some of the bar staff I encountered here should just go and work in a public bar in some average hotel , they simply don't listen to your order serving the wrong beer that I did not order , I guess they dont assume that you're staying in their lovely accommodation and just treat you like any old Joe blow The beer prices are probably the highest in the Redlands ( apart from happy hour ) compared to all the other pubs in the area ( I'm a local resident) The restaurant staff try to do their best but they simply are not professional in their jobs The cook or cooks that prepared my breakfast and dinners are sub standard in my view My eye fillet steak was cooked to order nicely ( med rare ) and very tender but it was almost cold . The oysters Kirkpatrick were just ok , and very small oysters On my second nite I ordered an eye fillet steak again and although it wasnt cooked to perfection (medium rare ) at least this time it was hot Ordered with the steak a mushroom sauce and an additional pepper sauce , what I got was 2 mushroom sauces Told wait staff and they quickly corrected my incorrect sauce with a pepper sauce but it was stone cold . Upon payment at least the wait staff asked how I enjoyed my meal , so I said I will tell you the truth since you asked , I was offered a complimentary cappuccino however it was the weakest coffee I have had in a long time and not very hot , I must add this waitress was very nice and did seem to care what I had to say, though perhaps seamed to me a little offended but I did not nor would I criticise anyone personally Breakfast , I was hesitant to have breakfast as the cook was continuously sneezing,(with mask on ) not a good look in this era of covid and from my room window I could see a kitchen staff smoking out the back of the kitchen, anyway I risked not contracting anything and ordered the smashed avocado on char grilled sour dough with roasted tomatoes and duchka What I got was a tasteless smashed avocado on lightly toasted something ( certainly not char grilled as per menu )and unroasted / ungrilled cherry tomatoes and could not taste any duhka ,I also ordered an XTRA hot cappuccino and it was luke warm when the waitress delivered it I let her know and she replaced it The breakfast menu is very well priced in comparison to other places around here but I will not be returning again because it would seem the cook obviously has little interest in even preparing food as per their own menu , there is much better places to eat breakfast around here . Beautiful accommodation rooms and superb beds and pillows and nice and quiet with curtains that block all the morning light , highly recommend the accommodation but unfortunately cannot say same for food or food service and fairly ordinary bar staff

we used to eat there all the time as a kid. great food and service ok, but we had to play in a garden that was only spiky plants. drove past there a week ago, what do we see, they are building a playground. funny. i just turned 13 and they are building a park there NOW. furious they would do this to loyal customers!!! lat time we went was for my graduation and it was sad, no playground for lots of kids, just grass and spiky plants.

During a recent visit to the Redland Bay area I realised it was getting too late to get home (NSW) after my meeting…so needed somewhere to stay over. A few phone calls later & I had booked into what the locals call the “Alex Hills” hotel!!! What a surprise…well established “resort style” hotel, nicely located on a large block, easy access, undercover parking. Reception staff helpful & friendly without being “too casual.” My room was very comfortable, well appointed & 10/10 for cleanliness. So….thank you for a much needed & restful “unplanned” stay. Dinner in the dining room was excellent & being a woman travelling on her own, I felt very comfortable (as it well should be, but sometimes isn’t.) Thank you. I’ll be back🦋

This hotel is excellent. Spacious, clean and modern. The receptionist let the hotel down. Very matter of a fact, nothing more, nothing less. Couldn’t wait to get back to her phone. However, the cleaning staff were helpful and very pleasant. Even though there was a concert at the venue, we didn’t hear the concert or guests leaving the venue. A very pleasant stay.

If you go for the roast of the day it is mostly cold as it is sliced and put on an uncovered supposed heat tray. I would suggest you ask to have the meat cut there and then. Staff manning the counter not very helpful on requesting gluten free options. There aren’t any. They also do not do roast potatoes. Hello it’s a roast lunch, why not?
