A few phone calls later & I had booked into what the locals call the “Alex Hills” hotel!!!
What a surprise…well established “resort style” hotel, nicely located on a large block, easy access, undercover parking. Reception staff helpful & friendly without being “too casual.” My room was very comfortable, well appointed & 10/10 for cleanliness. So….thank you for a much needed & restful “unplanned” stay.
Dinner in the dining room was excellent & being a woman travelling on her own, I felt very comfortable (as it well should be, but sometimes isn’t.) Thank you. I’ll be back🦋

Lost a star - nearly two - because of the breakfast.
We had noticed a lot of room service food was barely touched and discovered why.
We ate in the bistro and ordered simple poached eggs & bacon plus hash browns with long blacks on the side. Eggs were hard which made for dry eating. Bacon was cold and hash browns were undercooked. To really ruin the experience, my long black was filtered coffee.
My advice? Check out and take a drive into Cleveland and eat at one of their many good cafes.
Even though there was a concert at the venue, we didn’t hear the concert or guests leaving the venue.
A very pleasant stay.
"We had a garden room, which was lovely and connected to the main building by a short, undercover walkway. There was a guest laundry."Read full review
