This is the second time I am writing this - it was deleted from the posts. We had a big problem with ants in our cabin - they gave us ant traps but there were hundreds of ants. They were on the walls, toilet, floor and even got into my husband's breathing machine. TERRIBLE - and they didn't care when...

My son and his wife hosted their wedding here over Labor Day weekend. I was not optimistic about staying at a resort on Mille Lacs, but ended up being so happy that we were there. From the moment you pull in, you can see the updated facilities and beautifully maintained grounds. The wedding party stayed in the reunion house and...

Don't blink or you will miss the driveway! A slightly secluded resort on Mille Lacs that I was expecting to find old, small rooms. Instead I found first rate lodge rooms with great facilities (except the futon). We had a catered dinner that was wonderful and the on-site restaurant has the potential of being better but it was acceptable. They...

Where would you find a secluded, rustic resort on a huge lake? Minnesota naturally. Appeldoorn's is just that. Located on Lake Mille Lacs, this is a full fledged resort including swimming, fishing, even ice fishing (if you like the cold). The list of activities is extensive with rentals of all kinds of water ‘toys’ for the summer water toy rentals....

We stayed here while attending a family gathering and visiting friends who live in MN. It is sort of a camp setting, with cabins and a lodge. We stayed on the second floor of the lodge and had a great view of Mille Lacs lake. It was the week before July 4th so it was not busy, but you can...

First time at Appledoorn's and overall our group had a great time! The staff was friendly and helpful - especially the intern (sorry I can't remember his name!). He always had a smile and from the beginning he went the extra mile (or block, as it were, as he helped us find our cabin) and he continued to help us...

I am really glad I was able to stay at this nice resort before the summer months. Appeldoorn's takes full advantage of every single square inch of their property. If you rent a cabin (and there are several!) You are VERY likely to see, hear and meet your neighbors. The resort seems very family oriented, with full play ground on...

My daughter and her now husband rented the reunion house for their bridal party and family. It was wonderful. I did not do an actual count but there were somewhere around ten bedrooms and seven bathrooms. There were three kitchens all stocked with dishes, coffee maker, toasters, dishwashers and towels. Also three full living rooms as well as a lounging...

The staff was great, my children were...

1. We arrive. No keys - Literally - NO KEYS. No keys for 3 hours! They told us to go on in (without keys) and not to lock our door. Of course, as far as I am concerned, this means - DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING inside until you can get a key and lock your door. They had the bill...
