Visited Maypole Farm Friday 24th March 2017 intending to stay 2 nights ended up staying 3 nights. I was born in Cawood 72 years ago and left in 1960, so this was a trip back if you like.Maggie and Adam are quite charming people with a delightful young family. The room we occupied was lovely, spotlessly clean and with a...

We had family visiting & couldn't put them all up ourselves so my parents stayed at Maypole Farm. They were very accommodating and flexible about arrival / departure times. The rooms were very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was fairly basic but that was made clear before we booked and it was reflected in the price too. The owners are...

Not overly taken with the B and B. Friendly welcome the beds were clean but other parts weren't. The shower was cold, I know they are going to upgrade so hopefully it will get better. We were told we could buy a full breakfast at The Castle Pub opposite and the details were in our room, arranged to meet up...

Management response:

Very disappointed with your review Mrs. Coleman but have taken your comments onboard. It's a shame you failed to mention in your review that when you booked to stay with us we advised you that we were in the middle of a refurbishment and gave you the accommodation at half price to compensate for this. I'm glad however to hear...

Cawood is a lovely little village surrounded by green land with period buildings throughout. Lovely location to talk a walk or visit York. Maypole farm is a gorgeous house with proper British charm. Maggie and Adam are friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Perfect base to explore and relax. Would definitely return again soon.

We required a b&b just outside york for the weekend and what a gem we found. Susan and Jeff were excellent hosts and so friendly. The breakfast was second to none the home made croissants were delicious. York just 20 mins away. Excellent accomodation and we would certainly recommend this little gem as we could not fault it.

We spent a very pleasant 2 nights at Maypole Farm , chosen because of its ideal location between Selby and York for the Tour de Yorkshire. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the choice at breakfast time was exceptional. The hosts were attentive and helpful in all matters. Thank you.

Visited Cawood to attend a family christening. The owners of the B&B allowed us to check in early so we could freshen up after the journey. We were given a warm welcome and shown to our room . I don't think I have ever had such a well appointed room. The owners seem to have thought of everything. The room...

I'd booked a night at the Maypole Farm after seeing the TripAdvisor reviews. And I wasn't disappointed. The main plus point to this B&B are the people. Very friendly, and full of information and helpful hints. We didn't have time to experience the award winning cooked breakfast, but the continental breakfast was wide ranging and full of choices. We also...
