Friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable. We've been visiting Kawishiwi Lodge and Outfitters for years and years. They will have everything you will need if you are heading out into canoe country wether you are a BWCAW veteran or a greenhorn. KLO is the best.

We stayed in cabin 1 at the lodge. It's a great cabin and a perfect BWCA lodge! It's on a peninsula with the lake and river on each side. the lodge is rustic and perfect and Frank is extremely kind and helpful. My 4 children, husband and I loved it and hope to return.

Owners very nice people but slow to get back to you. I would not visit again because the road getting to the lodge is very bad and a terrible gravel road. Road is not fit for two cars, sides have trees and brushes, so property damage could occur if you have to move over. Owners need to improve road or...

My group stayed in a bunkhouse before our trip into the BWCA in May. We also rented a canoe and some packs. The bunkhouse was clean, functional, and in close proximity to the lake. A range, oven, shower, toilet, sink, charcoal grill (bring charcoal), fridge, basic dishes, and utensils were provided. The rented canoe was great and I thought the...

We used Kawishiwi Lodge as our outfitter for a week in the Boundary Waters. Frank was very helpful from early on in the year when we were doing our planning and making our reservations through our week on the water. We stayed in a bunkhouse the night before we put in and were very pleased having a bunkhouse with a...

My husband and I have not done any paddling to speak of, so I was hesitant about this half-day adventure. This place was recommended by our hotel people, and we drove out to it the day before to see what we were getting into. We talked with one of the owners for quite a while, and he said they would...

We had a great experience with using their outfitting service for a guys weekend canoe/camping trip. Frank and Nicole went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. We used their complete package and were very impressed with the quality of all the gear and food.

Our family of 14 spent a week together in cabin 19. The cabin was beautiful, and had all amenities we needed for a week in the wilderness. Our week was spent canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking, and playing games. It was great to get away from technology for awhile, although the lodge had wifi when we needed to check email. It...

Kawishiwi Lodge is my family's favorite summer vacation place. This summer was our third summer visiting (and probably not our last). The resort sits on Lake One - part of the Boundary Waters. This makes the resort wonderfully quiet. There are no motor boats, no phones (there is one in the main lodge for emergencies, and there are some spots...

This is my favorite place in the world. My family has been coming here for the past 8 years. Cabins are well maintained, Frank, Nicole and Roger are knowledgable and helpful. Kawishiwi is the best place to get peace, quiet, and wilderness but still have bathrooms!

“Cabin #13 has the best views of the entire lake. Though it is centered amongst the other cabins, it is well enough away from the others that it seems secluded. If this is not secluded enough for your tastes, Cabin #15 is on an island - boat access only.”
