We travel a lot and South Pier is one of our favorite places to stay - it is always our first lodging choice for a trip to Duluth. In mid February we spent 3 nights in a waterfront suite. Between the lake, the view, the lift-bridge, the boats right outside your window (in summer), the short walk to Canal Park,...

We spent the weekend here while were in Duluth for our daughter's competition. Canal Park was either all booked or the rooms available were terribly overpriced for a pretty standard room. I found this place right on Park Point just outside of the crowds and congestion of Canal Park and the price for a suite was very reasonable. It has...

We had two rooms, one a top-floor corner sweet with a 270 degree view from the Aerial Lift Bridge to Superior Bay. It was late December and extremely cold, but the fireplace warmed the room up quickly. I'm giving this a five star (button?) review, though I agree with a couple other reviewers who noted that the breakfast is minimal...

We have made many trips to the Duluth area in the past but this was our first stay at this hotel...and it definitely will not be our last! The room was wonderful. We overlooked the harbor and saw ships come & go right from our room along with our morning coffee-amazing! The room was nice, clean & quiet with a...

First of all, let me say this place is AWESOME!!! The location is to die for.....however, there are just a couple of things that could be improved on. First off, the water pressure is very low, barely enough to enjoy a good shower. Second, for as much as they charge, even for a regular room, you would think they would...

We stayed for our 34th wedding anniversary and EVERYTHING was perfect! The view is amazing! The whirlpool tub, fireplace and balcony along with the vaulted ceiling and fan made this a luxurious experience. The design ensures a private, quiet stay. We've stayed at other Duluth hotels in the past and have had terrible experiences. We will make South Pier our...

I have stayed at several hotels in the Canal Park area, none compare to this hotel. It does not have a pool but it does have incredible views of the canal and the bay area. We stayed in rooms 501, 103, 601 and 602. (our choice) 602 is called the panoramic suite and has vaulted ceilings. 601 is called the...

The room was absolutely magnificent. The views were spectacular from the sleeping room and the living room. The fireplace, the hot tub, the lift bridge going up to let the ship pass through, the fireworks at Bentleyville; it kept getting better and better. The room was very clean; staff exceptionally helpful; parking was easy. I will go back again and...
