Talk about a pleasant surprise! Junior hockey brought me to Duluth in December just as a polar plunge settled in. The Inn is right on the edge of Lake Superior and the Lift Bridge - what a cool location! Almost hard to believe. I reserved a king suite, complete with hot tub and gas fireplace... Truly special, I will be...

The rooms were large and well kept. Located adjacent to the channel and lift bridge so you can sit on a balcony and observe the action which is neat when a big vessel cruises through. The hotel keeps a schedule so you know when they arrive. It is also an easy walk to the numerous old city water front businesses...

This was our first time here and we thought it was great and very unique. Like that there are only two rooms in the area where we stayed. Didn't hear any noise at all. The rooms are clean and spacious. Love that each one has a balcony. We could sit by the fireplace in the lobby and watch the ships...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in a large suite with a whirlpool. We had an excellent view, and really enjoyed watching the ships pass by. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was also very nice, even when I called down about a concern about the sheets, small pilling that made them scratchy. An attendant came...

After walking by South Pier Inn for the past 3 years we finally decided to stay there. The room was very clean and the views awesome. Staff was great. Parking was tough and tight. Breakfast was less than desirable. Donuts, small pastries are not what I consider a good continental breakfast. First floor rooms are stuck listening to the noise...

had a good time with friends. weather was terrible, but the staff was extremely nice and the facilities were super. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Had a little trouble figuring out where to turn in to the parking lot and the exit is around the back side. Manager was very attentive to customer needs and desires. Overall was a...

Very nice room, good lighting, lots of space. The place was quiet and clean. Hotel is right next to the lift bridge. Had to wait about 10 minutes for a ship to pass. The breakfast is limited to small rolls and juice so skipped it. The receptionist was very helpful.

This was the first time staying here and have been going to Duluth yearly since 2000. I guess the reason why I haven't stayed here before is that they don't have a pool and usually it's a family vacation. This time it was just my wife and I so it didn't matter. The hot tub and fireplace with king bed...

Wonderful location with a beautiful view. Conveniently located to Canal Park and Park Point. Rooms are spacious. Whirlpool tub in room is fantastic. Finishing of the room is a bit on the cheap side. Chairs and bed are fairly low quality and one of the barriers to me giving a 5 rating.

After multiple stays in Duluth for grad school, this is my favorite place to stay. Just over the drawbridge, within walking distance to downtown, and a friendly, welcoming staff. The entire experience was a getaway! The staff knew I was going to my favorite Italian restaurant and offered me a coupon for a wine flight... nice! It was fun to...
