You know this is a great campground when you try to book 4 or 5 months out and can't find a space. We've stayed here twice, once in July 2015 and once in July 2016; both times in our camper with two teenage daughters, our dog and cat. The sites are huge. You might have an area where your camper...

Hubby and I stayed three nights in mid-September. Excellent campground. Spotless restrooms and showers. We stayed in the walk-in area and LOVED our campsite. We were within sight of one other set of campers and that was it! Very quiet and very well maintained. Will definitely stay there again.

This was a wonderful campground. Wooded. Sites were roomy and spaced apart nicely giving everyone some privacy. All sites have paved parking pads. Most have electricity. This campground is very popular, and you must reserve your site six months in advance if you want to get the best locations. Staff were friendly. Restrooms well maintained. Fire pits come with a...

My husband and I booked our site for a weeklong hiking/canoe trip at the Dunes. This campground was extremely peaceful, clean and had the best shower I've ever experienced while camping. We're active so this is important. Can't wait to come back.

This was one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at. The tent sites were far away from one another, and the bathroom and showers were really clean. There is also a great river nearby for floating, kayaking or canoeing. Also, you can take a path for maybe a mile to the beach. Both nights we went, no one else...

I have never been to this campground, but I loved it. Each site is wooded and you actually have some privacy. Nice place to park your car and place your tent. Good size lots. Restrooms are clean and well kept. The only thing I wondered about, there was not a ranger in site except at the restroom and office. No...

After spending three weeks in Michigan State Campgrounds where sites are often times packed in tightly together and night time noise levels frequently make it difficult to sleep prior to 11:00 pm, the Platte River Campground is a little like heaven on earth. Although the campground is quite large, the sites are nicely spaced, providing privacy and quieter times. The...

Camping at the National campground is comfortable and quiet. The sites are a good size and wooded. Paved pads for cars and RV. Camping pads are dirt, landscaped flat. The picnic tables are tied down and placed 35 feet away from the RV pads, inconvenient for us. The bathrooms are modern and mostly clean. There are sites that are rustic...

I'm a tent camper working out of a compact car. Trailer and RV users would have much different experiences. I have been trying to get a reservation here (on short notice in mid-summer) for quite a while & scored a non-electric site #428 just a few days before I arrived. There are photos of the sites at recreation.gov and the...
