My partner and I decided to stay near the Yarra Valley one weekend. We got lost along the way and coming close to the end of check in time, the staff were vigilant enough to give me a call and arrange an after hours check in.
When we opened the door we didn’t realise how spacious the rooms would be, it was the size of a lounge room with an extra wide bed (this is the standard room mind you). The rooms were clean and stocked, nothing fancy but still good value for money.
The location is peaceful, remote, spacious and beautiful. Not a lot to offer in the way of on site dining but the town was only a couple of minutes away with a large Bistro and other restaurants/amenities.
I wouldn’t hesitate coming back for another stay and I recommended anyone who’s looking for a quite place to get away to come here for a night or two

I enjoyed my stay here for one night in winter. My room had a comfortable bed and the shower was good. The heater worked well and there were extra blankets and quilts in the cupboard. I liked that the room had arm chairs and a big window so you could see the nice courtyard outside. For fussy people, there were a few wear tear marks such as a crack in the bathroom tiles, didn’t bother me.
A relative stayed in a disabled access room, which had a great bathroom for her. She also had a microwave.
For children there is a big playground in the grounds.
Google maps was slightly off in directions, not telling me to turn into hotel early enough. Also, check their reception hours. You need to contact them about check in instructions if you are arriving out of reception hours.

Booked for an overnight stay in a king room for a function nearby, this place really surprised me. Check in was quick and easy, and the room was exactly as shown in the photos. The room and bathroom was sparkling clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Check out was also extremely easy. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay nearby to Mount Dandenong, I wished I had more time to explore the grounds and the nearby areas. Only tip would be to make sure you slow down approaching the front gates as they are very easy to miss.

My wife booked a room for the 27/6/20 and we wished we did not!
Should have known there was some dishonesty when my wife asked a question 5 days prior to us arriving and they answered when we could not cancel the room.
We tried to have dinner but were put into a room with no one else in there, no table cloths, no music just us and they refused to let us into the dining room saying the group in there wanted to be alone but it was ok for us to stay in a substandard conference room.

Our dinner all came out at once main, sweet and was told that was they way it had to be served it was like we were in a retirement home or worse it was disgraceful.

The whole facility is in need of an upgrade and the service was so disappointing. This was meant to be a pleasant getaway because I only just had to got out of hospital and did not want to travel. They simply made it a disappointing experience and as such we will not only not go back to the place but will warn others not to go!
Thank you for ruining our visit, we are disgusted.

Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. We're very sorry that your expectations were not met during your stay. We have only recently reopened to the public and are currently trying to get back into the swing of things. However, that does not excuse your poor treatment. We will be addressing this with our staff this week so that future guests don't have the same experience. Thank you again for leaving a review. While we wish that you had a better experience, it's feedback like this that helps us to improve. Foothills Team

The front of house staff (all three of them) were rushed off their feet when we and another couple checked in. It was the 'flat out' according to one staff member. And it only got worse. As more people arrived to check in. They became more flustered and forgot about customers. When we eventually checked in 30 minutes after our first attempt and got to our room we discovered someone else had been issued the same.
Rooms are good. Clean and Spacious. House Keeping are very helpful. The front of house staff require more training.

Great communication during the booking process, exceptionally clean, wonderful location and grounds. Exceptionally easy process to book in after hours due to really good communication. Room was soooo clean and the grounds feel private and serene. Amenities good - loved our stay.

Stayed 3 nights, large room, great shower pressure and clean and tidy. Room has fridge and a toaster so was good to make our brekkie. Good location, easy drive to Lilydale town and surrounding wineries. Uber eats also deliver! Very reasonably priced for the room.

Just got back from two nights at this Conference Centre who are trying to turn it into a "Romantic Getaway".
Rooms were clean but no attempt at atmosphere.Beds were lopsided and hard not to roll off.Toilet paper was cheap, hard and thin a sure sign of things done on the cheap and certainly not up to standard.
Two night deal offered breakfast both mornings and dinner one night...why bother I say!Food was served in warming trays, barely warm and very unappetizing and very little of it. My friend and I arrived half hour into the supposedly 2hr meal time to find no vegetables left, spoonful of watered down curry and some dried up roast pork. Plenty of staff around but no-one to top up the serving trays.
This place has absolutely no style and whatever the cost is simply not worth it.
Just don't go, waste of space and time.

Have just spent a weekend here and was greatly disappointed.

Maybe they do conferences etc well but weekends certainly not according to my experience.

Rooms were OK and clean, but from then on it went downhill. Everything seemed to head for the cheapest outcome.

We had three meals there and each was sub standard. The food was deplorable being served as buffet style on warming trays. The food such as it was ran out on two occasions and was not replenished by staff who seemed to take no notice of the situation.

Really regret making the booking and could not recommend this place on any level even if the tariff were halved.

You can get a lovely breakfast pack in your room. I don't remember about a microwave. And i think the restaurant may only be open when they have conferences on.

Hi, Jim, Yes we are happy to accommodate your for a few extra days at the rate we offer to your conference group. Your conference organizer has our contact details. We don't have an indoor gym but we have a big outdoor swimming pool which you might find handy. There are also some nice walking tacks around our venue. Hope it helps. Kind Regards Li
