On Tuesday, August 9th, while enjoying a few days on Mackinac Island celebrating my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary, my father-in-law became ill in the middle of the night and had to be hospitalized in Saint Ignace. When it was determined the hospital wanted to observe...More
Terrible, that they still charged us for two nights when we had to cancel our trip due to my father-in-law on his deathbed! The manager wouldn't even come to the phone, just sorry, nothing we can do ... really?
The hotel was very nice with an excellent view of Lake Huron and Mackinac Island from the balcony. The room was very nice with a hot tub. The hot tub was right next to the doorwall, so for privacy we had to shut the curtains,...More
Overall the room was decently clean. However maids really need to learn to look up.

Smoking is not allowed in rooms in Michigan, unless you stay in a hotel owned by one of the Casinos. We recently stayed here though, and I'm pretty certain people had smoked on the balcony of our room because there were several burn holes in the indoor/outdoor carpet. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if I were a smoker and they provided me with a carton.
