We stayed in Cabin #3 overnight. The format is designed for a lengthier family stay, which would be fun. They are 1930 log cabins, but well-maintained and clean. It had a very slight odor of cigarette smoke. The bathroom is tiny, but clean and okay. We discovered an ant infestation IN OUR OWN STUFF as we were unloading the truck....

Log cabins my kids renamed "little house on the Prarie" hotel - true authentic 1800's style cabins - way cool. a short but fascinating hiking path through the woods and over a running creek. beach across the street - but don't bother with it if you can drive up the five miles west to the uninhabited shoreline with public beaches...

We didn't realize they had little cabins until somebody at the deer ranch recommended them for their cabins out back. They provide maps of trails they have that go throughout their 40 acres they own. They are surrounded by state land.they do not have cable or antenna tv only vhs which they have movies at the office you can borrow...

Nice quite rustic, will certainly return! If you are looking for a up north adventure that is close to the Island or the beach this is it. Make sure to bring the bug spray...the mosquitoes in the UP are aggressive ;)

We stayed in cabin #4. At first arriving our initial impression was 'what kind of dump have we reserved'. But we soon discovered that it was a very nice place. The cabin was very cute and had plenty of space. I think we must have been the first guests of the season. The cabin smelled musty. We opened the windows...

At first glance, this roadside motel looks just like any other. But, nestled back in the woods, behind the motel, are these adorable, private, and peaceful cottages, with fire pits, picnic tables, hiking trails and a playground. We stayed in the hotel for a week in July, since the cottages were booked up. We stayed in room 3, and it...

If you are expecting a hot breakfast, dependable wi-fi, modern furniture, distance from road noise, and the boring sameness of the francise hotels in the rest of the USA, don't stay here. However, if you are desiring - 1. Quaint yester-year simplicity 2. Outdoors 3. Free beach access, trails in the woods, and chances to view/hunt crawdads at night 4....

by the looks of the place you wouldn't expect you were going to stay on 40 acres of the most beautiful scenery we have found here in the lower UP. Cabins are untouched gold. Everything you need or want is waiting here so pack light. Patty has you covered. This is our new retreat. Getting married tomorrow and who gets...

Beautiful spot. Buildings should be torn down. Spent one night in room 6. Rolling floors and mold smells. Only stayed because we were getting a cabin the next day. Cabin 8. Cute, but very run down. We got used to the hunting camp feel and settled in. Spent a nice day chilling out. Was nice with no tv, we had...

we stayed in the hotel at the Balsam's in August. It was a nice inexpensive alternative in St. Ignace. We used it as a base to explore part of the UP. The rooms were a nice size & well equipped. The owners were very nice & helpful. the beach was okay, but the beaches a few miles up the road...
