From the start, it did not go well. Upon arriving, we could not find reception or any signs to direct us. We phoned the number listed but it rang out twice. We then found a door at the rear of the hotel with a small sign saying reception which we knocked on for some time without result. We then went into the hotel bar and the staff found someone to open the reception.
Problems encountered during our 3 night stay; 1. Both security doors would not close,2. Sliding door to tv room would not lock so no security, 3. Toilet seat fell off pedestal and was repaired, fell off again. 4. Cold water tap handle in shower fell off. 5. Shower screen door would not close. 6. Blind in bedroom was broken. 7. TV was broken, it was not connected. 8. Dining table was very unstable. The only saving grace was the housemaid who was our only contact and tried hard to help.

My husband and I have been to this hotel's restaurant "The Roadhouse Grill" on 3 occasions while visiting Brisbane and on each occasion were more than satisfied with the quality of food. Twice we have both had steak and both times was cooked to perfection. Very friendly staff and would recommend The Roadhouse Grill for a meal.

Just spent last weekend at the Browns Plains Hotel. Firstly, yep the reception is hard to find, and those who don't like entering a pub may find this a bit disconcerting. Once directed to the " hole in the wall " the staff were pleasant and helpful. The rooms are detached from the pub itself, but this doesn't mean you won't be awaken at 2-30am by departing revellers, anyway it's a very busy pub at that comes with the territory I guess. The rooms are comfortable, not great, but ours was clean, and serviced daily. The surrounding area is commercial, with plaza shopping and plenty of places to eat. It's a busy road outside, so if you are a light sleeper you may won't to look elsewhere, mind you the nearest motel was right on the highway just up the road. I was impressed with the promptness of the return of the key deposit to my account, no need for follow up. Would I stay again, well at $100 a night it's ok, and given the same circumstances for visiting this area...... Yep. But remember people it's A PUB.

Room Tip: There's only 9, so I guess room 1 as it's away from the main road.

I'm in the area for work for 8 days and my first visit here I ordered the Wagyu steak, oh boy, this was not a Wagyu steak, it tasted or should I say didn't taste of steak at all, bland. If you have had Wagyu you know when you are eating one.
I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again, this time I ordered 6x Kilpatrick oysters as a starter and seafood linguini for a main to come out separate, the oysters arrived which were dry and the bacon was like chewing on old cut up leather work boots, the main came out before I could even get into the oysters as they seem to forget to give any cutlery at all.
The linguine, pieces of raw fish, no taste at all and swimming in grease, I had 1 fork full and left.
If you have no sense of taste or you have been smoking petrol and crack you might enjoy the food, me, I'm from Perth and we have some decent places to eat.

All in all about $100.00 wasted in this place, I would advise to avoid like monkey pox!

We did not experience great service or nice meals. The garlic bread was nice, everything else was inedible. My children didn’t even eat their meals. We waited one hour for our mains to arrive. The whole thing was disappointing. The staff were rushed off their feet and did offer us a free drink and a $25 voucher.... but we won’t be going back.

We joined friends here for a birthday dinner for one of the kids. The service was brilliant with all staff attentive and helpful. Food is ordered and paid for at the counter (swift and friendly service) and drinks ordered at the bar (no long queues). Our family had the schnitzels and the beef burger. Will return to this venue.

Extremely over priced for quality of food received. Have been there 3 times and always left underwhelmed. Charged for 2 kids meals when only ordered 1.. Staff did not advise we would be refunded! Had to ask if we could use money paid extra to get dessert and they reluctantly agreed even though dessert was less than the cost of kids meal. When we got home realised they also charged us for garlic bread $6 we never received! Never again. Food not worth the money.

The rooms at browns Plains hotel are clean and comfortable. I thought it would be quite noisy due to being on a main road but I couldnt hear the traffic at all. Very clean which is what matters overall to me. Realistically for the dirt cheap price I was expecting a dump but I was overly surprised

My girlfriend and I regularly go here to eat. We always get quick service to be seated, the food has always come out quickly and has always been delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Never had a complaint for here. Good for chilling out in the bar area for a drink and the bar staff are always good. Prices are decent on drinks. Place is always clean in every section and good range of pokies machine. I recommend dining and/or drinks here especially in summer.

Family outing with newborn baby. Asked for pram suitable table. Perfect. Greeting, perfect with good specials explanation. We ordered steaks which were mid 20 dollars range. Perfect for the price. Tasty, cooked perfectly, great sauce. It's not 5 star steakhouse but it's very very good value. Thanks guys, we enjoyed ourselves.
