We enjoyed our stay. We were lucky enough to have a powered site under a tree. Facilities are older style but I prefer that to be honest.
We were able to walk along beach track in each direction to coffee shops/eateries.
Staff were very friendly - reception, gardener.
Loved the pool. Would definitely return.
Sites were a good size.

We chose this accommodation for it's location to a fabulous beach and close to relatives for our month stay. We were not disappointed and will book again for any future visits. The staff were very friendly and helpful, dealing with our requests efficiently and promptly. We booked a comfortable one bedroomed detached chalet, with combined kitchen/lounge, shower room and parking bay. It contained everything we needed from utensils, good size fridge/freezer and air conditioning. at a competitive price. The fabulous location gave us the option to walk along the beach to shop in the local shopping centre, use the bus service to visit Freemantle or Rockingham or drive when we had a car. The beach was literally a 2 minute walk and we loved the long, safe and very clean beach both day and at night! It was never packed and had a shark net and platform for keen swimmers. The park itself was clean and quiet with security patrols at night, although we never saw signs of problems and felt safe coming and going at all times.

Have not been to Coogee for many years and was pleasantly surprised by the caravan park accommodation, only short distance from the beach and our two bedroom unit had all the equipment provided and was clean and comfortable. Look forward to returning.
Only small issue being no soap holder in shower but minor.

The advertising photos of the holiday park are nothing like the reality. It looks very run down, dry brown leaves everywhere and no grounds people in sight the whole time we were there! Definitely no grassed areas in the park which are advertised..just dust and leaves !

The showers are not cleaned properly as i noticed that a clothing sticker and soap marks had been left on one of the shower cubicle walls and 3 wks later my friend says it is still there. So that shows the walls are not even cleaned..Yuk ! Discovery parks ought to be ashamed at how they advertise this park ! Very poor form and incorrect advertising

We travelled from Broome to Perth in a motor home and visited many parks.
Most had good if not satisfactory cleanliness of showers and toilets. Not so for Coogee - the showers were not clean - toilet doors would not close because of broken locks and the feeling was one of neglect. It was not a pleasant stay.

We were grated by a lovely lady who explained everything. It's quite a small site which was lovely. Lots of shade under the trees. Right on the beach. Very clean amenities. Would stay again if in the area. We were on holiday in a rented camper.

Quiet and clean park with sites of generous size. Walk out back of park on to hidden Coogee Beach for a beautiful sunset. Had lovely 2 night stay. If had more time would definitely stay longer. Upmarket pub directly across road. Surf club on beach but was closed when we were there. If open would be great spot to sit on verandah.

This is not a Caravan Park. It is an Aspen Permanent Shack Settlement with a few powered sites thrown in for good measure. Calling it a holiday village is a bit of a mystery. It’s an old park with a large permanent population which probably make up more than three quarters of the Park and while we were there they were actually bringing in more cabins to increase the permanent housing by two.
The Park is situated right on a very nice swimming beach which would be great for kids and adults alike. Good walking tracks surround the area. The jetty to jetty walk is around 5kms. There are cafe’s at both ends of the Park, great for coffees and “take a ways“ (a tad expensive) .
There is still a lot of traffic noise from the nearby main road as well as on occasion aircraft noise from small planes taking off and landing at Jandakot Airport which is not far away. It seems the trainers like to start at 6am some mornings which doesn’t bode well for a sleep in. There are two other caravan parks close by that are also next to the same road and airstrip so therefore would not be any more peaceful.
We booked a powered site for 10 nights and were able to negotiate a 10% discount via e-mail. On arrival we found the staff were friendly and helpful. Our site consisted of a large concrete slab situated right in the middle of an average sized site. You had no choice but to park the Van on the slab, which meant a lot of wasted space and limitations on what you could set up. So awning out only and annex stayed in the bag. The positioning of the slab made it a tight squeeze to get the car, van and awning all on the same site.
The site itself was surrounded by thick high trees which in full hot sun would be great, but it does tend to affect TV signal and we could not get any from a normal antenna and resorted to satellite dish which because of the trees was set up next to the road. Speaking to locals here, its common knowledge this site has TV Reception problems and it would have been courteous of the Park Staff to inform us of the same. Would have saved us a lot of time trying to find a signal and just going straight to the Satellite dish.
The amenities block adjacent to our site was oldish, but roomy and clean but definitely needed a coat of paint. Two out of the five shower cubicles had “out of Order” signs on the door and locked. They remained out of order for the entire length of our stay and I have to wonder if they were really in fact out of order or it was just a ploy by the park to lessen cleaning staff hours? One of the Urinal Cisterns had also been disabled. If they were out of order, why weren’t they repaired?
Telephone Reception from both Optus and Telstra were weaker than normal, averaging 2 bars for most of the time. Both Telstra and Optus did drop out with no service at all quite often, whether this had anything to do with the topography of our site and just a plain weak signal I’m not sure. Optus was definitely stronger. We also resorted to an outside mobile broadband antenna for our internet needs.
The Park itself supplies ‘free’ internet to the tune of 200 Megs a day. It was one of the main reasons we chose this location. That ‘free’ internet would allow us to contact family, ‘Skyping’ online and not dig into our phone data allowance. However when we tried to connect to it we couldn’t. There was obviously a technical issue with the server at the Park. (Yes, I’m a nerd) Checked with the office and was told “we give you free internet because it’s not working properly; normally we are supposed to charge you for it”. I’m still trying to make sense of that comment.
Another day went by and still no internet connection so again contacted the Office Staff and this time we were told we should bring our laptop down closer to the office so the signal would be stronger, even though we had a booster station within 20 metres of our caravan. That’s another comment I’m still trying to work out.
On the whole the Park served its purpose in supplying us with accommodation for the 10 nights. For what you get it is overpriced but there is not a lot else to chose from if you want to stay in this general area. However if there is a next time I think I would try Woodman Point.
I actually feel defrauded, we chose this Park because of its free internet which was the first question we asked when we confirmed the booking by telephone. Had we known beforehand the real situation we would have gone to one of the other nearby Parks that offer the same services.

Response from AspenParks, Manager at Discovery Parks - Coogee Beach
Responded 10 June 2015
Hi Peter, Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay at Coogee Beach Holiday Park. As you mentioned there is a mix of both permanent and tourist accommodation within the park. This has brought with it an opportunity for both visitors and residents to enjoy the park and the region’s offerings. Although we added 2 new homes while you were there, we balanced this out by creating 4 new powered sites by removing 4 residencies. Like the majority of our parks, we are located in regions close to natural beauties. Coogee beach is at our doorstep and we are also spoilt with walking tracks, a tennis court, good cafés, and not far from the airport. I hope you enjoyed the convenience. As you can appreciate being in a regional area, this too is paired with reception challenges. We are currently liaising with the Federal Government regarding coverage to better the connection services. I’m glad to hear the staff were welcoming and friendly and assisted you with your discount. The team work hard to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for all of our guests. The toilets are in need of repair, apologies if this caused any inconvenience to you. We are in the planning process to have the roof replaced and blocks repaired. Thank you for staying with us. We look forward to welcoming you back to one of our parks to better your experience. Kind Regards Manager

Office staff were very rude to my wife and daughter. Would not stay here again. The park is mainly full of permanent residents and presents as hillbilly upon entering. Ablution block was dated however clean.
