With a friendly front porch and a spacious second floor room in the big yellow "cottage" we felt we had stepped back in time. The property sits on the hill with lots of room to wander and a nice lake view. No wonder it is a destination for weddings like the one scheduled the day after we stayed. We didn't... More

A charming spot meticulously overseen by innkeepers Mary and Dan. The Sunset Lodge is actually a collection of architecturally significant buildings dating back to the late Nineteenth Century. But have no fear – all are totally up to date, and they provide a range of options from double rooms to suites. This is a great destination for couples and for... More

Good location for family groups...several buildings where family groups can stay. Rooms were adequate. They call themselves a B & B but really, unless you stay in the main house you don't get "breakfast", other buildings get juice, baked fruit bread, coffee maker, micro wave, mini fridge...so you're on you own. Property is lovely and hosts Dan and Mary are... More

Our family group of 8 chose this B&B for its location near Lake Michigan. Needing four rooms can often be a problem but in addition to the rooms inside the main house Sunset has multiple rooms with shared or private kitchenettes. Though not full kitchens, no oven, they worked well for simple breakfasts. Breakfast in the main lodge is not... More

Sunset Lodge sits on a beautiful hill, the rooms were clean and well appointed. It was a great gathering place for a family group. Our group filled one of the houses and we shared kitchen facilities in the house. Dan and Mary are wonderful hosts, going above and beyond to accommodate our various requests making our stay great. I have... More

The Sunset Lodge is in a lovely location. We stayed in the Garden Suite; basically a 3 room cottage, really well maintained and comfortable. The owners were really nice, even helped with my luggage! That was just wonderful. We enjoyed our stay and will probably return at a latter date.

Easily my favorite place to stay up north michigan, the owners are so friendly and helpful and they truly make the experience. The rooms are quaint and the updates that the new owners are putting in makes the truly lovely places to stay. The B&B is also close to a wonderful gallery just a short walk down the driveway and... We were graciously welcomed to the Sunset Lodge B&B by the owners, Dan and Mary, and made to feel like old friends. They were both knowledgeable about the area and were very gracious and accommodating. We stayed in the Cottage Suite June 20-24. It was well appointed, and fit our needs to a t. And the bed was extremely comfortable!... More

We rented a cottage at Sunset Lodge on the advice of a friend who lives in the area. We cannot express how pleased we were with our stay. There are variety of options for lodging. Three large "homes" accommodate travelers. One is a B&B with four rooms each having it's own bath and full breakfast. Our option was a portion... More
